Hollywood Celebrities, VIPs and Journalists From Around the World Gathered to Witness History With the Rebirth of Motorcycling's Best Handling Mid-Sized Cruiser

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Aug 7, 2014 —   Indian Motorcycle®, America’s first motorcycle company, today proudly recaps the highlights of its star-studded VIP party in Sturgis, SD last Saturday evening, August 2, at the 74th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The event was centered on the historic unveiling of the new 2015 Indian® Scout®, the first truly new Indian Scout to be introduced in more than 70 years. Scout is widely recognized as one of the most innovative, nimble, versatile and perfectly balanced motorcycles of all-time, and the stars were aligned as celebrities, VIPs and journalists from around the world gathered to witness its historic relaunch. Starting at $10,999, the new Scout is destined to appeal to riders of virtually every size and experience level who desire the perfect balance of style, maneuverability, power and price.

Mike Wolfe, die-hard Indian Motorcycle enthusiast and host of "American Pickers" on HISTORY emceed the evening's festivities. One of his first duties of the evening was the introduction of superstar guest Mark Wahlberg, a long-time fan of the Indian Motorcycle brand. Wahlberg, one of Hollywood's leading actors and producers, talked with Wolfe about his passion for the brand before the shoulder-to-shoulder crowd.

Other Hollywood celebrities in attendance for the historic reveal included Kristy Swanson, star of the 1992 film Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Alonzo Bodden, American comedian and winner of the third season of the reality-television series Last Comic Standing. Also on-hand all the way from New Zealand was John Munro, son for motorcycling legend Burt Munro, who was famously portrayed in the biographical movie "The World's Fastest Indian" in which Burt Munro piloted a modified 1920 Indian Scout to history by setting the land speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats.

The celebration and unveiling included remarks and comments from Polaris Industries CEO Scott Wine and VP of Motorcycles for Polaris Industries Steve Menneto.

"I am incredibly proud of the team that poured so much of their passion and commitment into designing, engineering and producing the stunning new Indian Scout," said Steve Menneto, VP of Motorcycles for Polaris Industries. "They have meticulously crafted this motorcycle with all due respect for its rich heritage and its unequalled reputation for handling, power and precise balance, and carried that forward with modern styling, technology and engineering. It is truly a bike that lives up to its heritage and brings it to a new generation of riders."
