Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bike! 2022 Chief Dark Horse You ever rode on the back of a bald Eagle while it’s in flight? Ever felt the rumble of a 10.2 earthquake between your loins? Bought this bad boy on Oct 9th can’t stay off of it. I have put over 1,000 miles on it in just a little over a month. Need something from Walmart? Ride. Need to check the mail? Ride. Need to get to work? Ride. Corner store? Ride. Girlfriend taking a nap? Ride. Pretty much make any excuse to ride.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best and last bike I’ll probably ever own! Took delivery 6 weeks ago and already have over 1000 miles on it. Bike is unbelievable. Felt like it was part of my body the second I started my test drive. Saddlebags came in two weeks ago and look great. Adding be some Dean Speed slip ons any day. Have not even tried Sport mode yet as Standard is just fine off the line and for passing acceleration. I had a Harley Superglide and it pales in comparison.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sport Mode isn’t for beginners Killer looks, Excellent balance, and more power than you need stock. Sport mode is twitchy sketchy fun, sometimes too much but makes me grin every time. Suspension is too soft for two riders, same problem as the Scout. Highly recommend the passenger pillion, not for the extra rider but it stops you from doing a full Superman when you get on it in sport mode. Can’t wait to see how future mods open up normal and sport modes. I wish I could have opted for a Dark Horse without the fancy speedo. Highly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's fun 2200 miles, 4 weeks, it's fast and easy to control. Definitely would take the touchscreen and trade it back in for some money back because it blows. The navigation takes you in circles to where your going, the roads like to disappear, and it likes to freeze if you have it in nav mode for more than 30 minutes. Also, definitely some redesigning to be done. The pickup tube is on the right side of the tank, won't start if it's on the kickstand with a gallon or less of gas. You have to stand it up and start it. Good solid cruiser and I love it but definitely would not buy this year model until they fix some things and or come out with a dark horse 116 without the P O S touchscreen. I am connected via Bluetooth and it still won't let me do anything it says you can from your phone. If you ride as much as I do fork out the extra money and buy a touring bike. It's too much money for an engine and a frame basically

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike! I’ve put 1000km on the bike and I think it’s a great all around bike. I put about 500km in the city and 500km on the highway. The bike was great in the city, and more than manageable on the highway. I will put a windshield on mine for the next highway trip. The bike has a comfortable riding position for the longer sitting times and the Bluetooth for changing your music on the go is awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the bike. So sleek and powerful This is my first big bike. It’s sleek and powerful like a fighter jet. After many reviews and research on the new chief especially the bobber I was sold. After riding it in hooked on Indian for life.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lives up to the name! I drove my Indian Chief Bobber DH across the US from North Carolina to California. I was able to test this motorcycle in harshest of the conditions and it faired well on all the occasions. It endured 110 degree AZ heat, 29 degree CO snow and Tropical storm IDA in KS. In the looks and esthetics department this bike is a show stopper. The power curve of this bike is magnificent. I have a 116 motor and at no point in time I had any issues cruising on highway, over taking 18 wheeler or riding through mountains. I am not a mechanical expert but from the riders point of view bike is fully equipped on power spectrum. The tires on this bike are amazing. Rain/Snow/Shine they held the bike perfectly. I encountered off roads in canyons, which these tires dealt beautifully. There are few things that I felt were not unto the mark during my 6000 mile cross country ride for which I dropped one star in rating. Pathfinder headlight: Only good when it pitch dark. On highways it is next to useless as it does not illuminate the road. Passenger footrest support: On a 20 grand bike, Indian gave me this small piece of metal on one side with provision to add one other side. Ridiculous!! Exhaust pipe shield: The exhaust of this bike is unforgiving. If you sit on the bike normally during the ride and you aren't cautious, the pipes will burn you pants, literally. During my ride I was wearing Joe rocket riding pants. They got destroyed, so also my rain gear which basically I had to discard because the resin got stuck to the pipes. Being an engineer myself, I would have assumed for Indian to do some testing around this issues. Side Stand Indicator: This might be a malfunction on my bike but the indicator did not work which scared the heck out of me on highway, when my stand scrapped at 75mph.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ride! This is my first motorcycle. After a few days of parking lot practice, I finally took it on the road. It is an incredibly comfortable ride with a lot of power. It handles very well. I’m looking forward to putting more miles on her and enjoying the motorcycle life!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Out of the last three Indians that I've bought, this one is my favorite. Fits right in between the Scout Bobber and my Springfield Dark Horse. Rides and handles like a champ. Great features. Only issue is the seat, it needs a little more of a bolster on the back so you don't come sliding off the back when you give it the beans. Other than that, it's a great bike and I love it. Only had it for a few months but the more I ride it the more I like it and I really liked it to begin with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great First Bike! I bought this bike July 17, 2021. This is my first bike so I have nothing to compare it with. That being said, I don’t want to be able to compare with any other bike. It is easy to learn how to ride on this bike, smooth power delivery throughout the range, plenty of passing power in any gear. And you can’t beat the 4” touch screen with ride command as well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking and performing bike I ordered it a couple months ago took a while to. Come in but we’ll worth the wait. I had tank modified to feature the block lettering vs, the decal. So much nicer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad to the Bone Bobber Purchased this bike a few months ago. Went from a sport bike to this. Was worried about giving up the fun and adrenaline but the Chief is no disappointment. It's my first cruiser and am absolutely in love with it from the way it rides, looks and sounds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Motorcycle full of tricks!! I have owned my Chief Bobber Dark Horse for just under two months. Immediately after my purchase I was blessed with the opportunity to ride 80+ miles home. This was a great opportunity for me to get to know the bike. The riding position is great for me being 6'3". I will be considering highway bars in the future for longer riders to stretch my legs but for my day to day riding I do the current setup is great! The one downside I had was the stock seat and that is true for almost any stock seat, it's comfortable for about 45-50 minutes then it is time to get off the bike and walk around for a few. Luckily enough a fellow Indian owner helped me out and added gel padding to my seat, now 100+ miles is no issue at all. I currently just have a solo seat but I may be adding a rear seat and sissy bar in the future for longer trip storage as well as saddle bags. Overall this is a great bike that is built for daily commuting, weekend trips or any other type of riding you are looking to accomplish. The price is also very appealing for how much you get on the bike!! The ride command is packed with so much stuff that I am able to monitor and track everything on the bike, while having navigation and control of my music!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Attention to detail I've had me Chief for a couple months now and absolutely love it. However, I cannot give it five stars for two reasons. One is the exhaust. It's two quiet and does not give the 116 motor any justice, and it is much to long. Second is the cable routing off of the handle bars, down in front of the gas tank. As you turn, the brake cable rub and scratch the beautiful paint on the gas tank. To me this is a simple fix but a huge oversight as many won't notice this until it's too late.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A beast...in a little package I have 3 Indian motorcycles with a 2018 Springfield DH, 2021 Challenger DH, and a 2022 Chief Bobber DH. This bike is insanely powerful. My 2018 Springfield DH was originally a TS111, but I had put the BBK and made it a TS116. From the factory this bike is a TS116 at about 250 lbs less. It is so powerful for in a much smaller form factor. You can really throw this bike around as compared to the bigger baggers. You accelerate quickly and the seat barely keeps you in. It handles really well. I am 5'10" and with the stock mini-apes, I felt a little cramped. I changed to the extended seat and it moved me back about 2" from the tank. This is a much better fit. I am looking to put on the 8" apes when available. Overall I love the look, the performance, and overall handling of this bike. Highly recommended for a cruiser. The fit and finish is amazing. Indian did such an amazing job of tucking away all of the components in such a sleek way so that the bike is very clean in the look. The 4" Ridecommand is really cool as well. They should put that on all the bikes. It has a lot of information but is cleanly organized. My only criticism is the sound on the stock exhaust. I usually don't care for stock exhaust on any bikes. I am looking forward to aftermarket options when they are available.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent companion to my Chieftain Having taken ownership of my 2022 Chief Bobber Dark Horse about 6 ago, and after logging just shy of 1800 miles, I can give some definitive observations. Simply put, I love this ride! The handling and response couldn’t be better. I’m 5’10”, with a 32” inseam, so the seat height is perfect. The seat has molded to my rear so I have the cradling effect that comes when the foam is broken in. Mini-apes put the grips right where I want them, and the forward controls complete the comfortable riding stance. Side bags are not huge, as well as the fuel tank, only holding 4 gallons. Those two drawbacks puts my Chief into the short day rides or an overnighter on occasions. The lack of a windshield would add to that limitation as well. At 80-90 mph, (with an occasional burst into triple digits), I make sure that my helmet is strapped on nice and tight. Even then, the constant buffeting can be exhausting. I love the color, opting for the Bobber DH specifically to get that. I really love the matte finish, having experience with my ‘17 Chieftain Limited in White Smoke. Neither I nor my salesman can understand why, with the blackout theme and lack of chrome parts, Indian equipped the bike with a chrome gas cap. ???? Fortunately, I borrowed one from my Limited for now, having ordered an aftermarket set from Kuryakyn. I have gotten a lot of compliments so far, and look forward to many miles of riding ahead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Cruiser Ever I’ve had this motorcycle for about 2 months and I’m in love. I’d ridden Harleys and Victorys in the past but this blows them both out of the water The 116 is a beast of an engine in such a light frame

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Could Have Been 5 Stars Honestly, I regret purchasing the bike this year. Should have waited until next year, it would have saved me a TON of frustration. Ride Command: Has some cool features, but lacks product support. I had to take my bike back to the dealer to get the modem activated since they weren't told that was a requirement. - Cannot transfer rides from the bike to the phone app and vice versa. Would be a cool feature on a $20K bike, particularly since this is available to other Indians with Ride Command. Not a planned feature according to Customer Service Accessories: Here's why I'm so disenchanted with Indian right now, and would only recommend a Chief to someone I either didn't like, or if someone wanted the barebones bike and nothing else. Indian has totally failed to deliver on accessories. I guess more accurately, Indian has failed me, since I have seen the same parts I ordered installed on bikes that were purchased at other dcealerships, ordered and paid for the same time I did. Guess they were just lucky. The positives: - Style is awesome, I get complements on the bike all the time! - Power is amazing. 4th gear pulls on the freeway are breathtaking! - Handling is great! Feels like a much lighter bike, handles everything I throw at it. - Dealer was and is continuing to be AMAZING. Great folks, they are the reason I'm on my 2nd Indian, and wouldn't think twice about buying another bike through them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING RIDE! I've owned six different HD's as well as a few metric cruisers. There is absolutely no comparison. The ride is smooth and enjoyable. The power out of this Thunderstroke 116 is amazing. Sport mode it feels like a rocket! If you lean back, there is no doubt it will left the front end. Not to mention it sits in the perfect position for cruising and is super comfortable. I am totally smitten with this bike.
