Indian Mitered Bar Wiring

Tools and Supplies Required

  • Pick or Flat-Head Screwdriver
  • Electrical tape
  • Shop Rags
  • Safety Glasses
  • Nitrile Gloves

Note: This video supplements accessory instruction 9930933, beginning at step 14 with the handlebars already removed.

1. Begin by inserting the nylon assembly aid from the top of the bar and run the tube through the bottom of the handlebar.

2. Measure the cables and peel open the nylon assembly aid. Insert the cables a minimum of 6 in.

3. Insert the three single cables into the nylon sleeve, fold one of the 2 pin connectors 180 degree to the harness so its pointing in the opposite direction as the other 2.  Using about 4” of electrical tape tightly wrap just behind the 2 forward connectors.  Ensure to wrap the cable as tight as possible to make the assembly as small as possible.

4. Find the end of the throttle 6 pin plug and wrap electrical tape behind the ends to secure the assembly. This cable is optional to include inside the nylon aid.

5. Carefully pull the end of the nylon assembly aid through the top of the bar and feed the other end through the bottom of the handlebar until the tube fully exits the top. There will be a tight spot as the cables pass through the bend and may require a bit of force. If the nylon assembly aid pulls through without the harness, repeat the cable insertion preparation as previously shown, ensuring the electrical tape is tight and on the downside of the harness connectors.

6. Remove the electrical tape from the management tube and remove the cables from the tube.

7. Inspect the cable and ensuring the connectors and tabs are not damaged.

8. Feed the cable bundle with three cables back into the handlebar and insert them through the hole in the bottom of the hand grip. A pick or flat-head screwdriver may be used to aid in routing the cables through the hole.

9. Repeat this process for the remaining side of the handlebar. On the left side of the handlebar, the cable management tube may be inserted through the bottom hole on the top of the handlebar.
