Indian Scout Sixty
Starting at $8,999 US MSRP
2019 Indian Scout Sixty Thunder Black is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 403.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality and Smooth Ride Have had my Scout Sixty for 2 months. Tried several bikes before going with the Scout, overall better finish work, balance, and options for the price of the others. Best of all, love the style of this bike. Lots of compliments on this sexy bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my Indian I love, love, love this bike, quick acceleration, turns on a dime, no two inch heels required. Some reviews indicate this is a great beginner bike and because of the quick throttle I would have to disagree, but, if you have some experience riding or know to be careful off the line I say go for it. I love the simplicity and the look of the bike. no fussy features, idiot light for gas a bike without too much instrumentation which I love. The only two negatives are, the seat is not comfortable for long distance riding and the kick stand does not swing out far enough to make me feel confident on any downhill grade. Both these issues are easily fixed. I would recommend this bike for any height challenged people who want a retro looking bike which gets lots of compliments.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun to ride Bought my Scout 60 a couple months ago, Its got plenty of power and looks amazing, rides great. The buying experience was good too). My only negatives were that there wasn't a heal shifter available for it and the windscreen doesn't do as much for reducing noise as others i have had on other bikes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike with ABS without breaking the bank... I was looking to get back into riding after a nearly five year break due to an auto-auto accident. I had always wanted an Indian, ever since I was a kid, and I was surprised to find that they were quite affordable. I picked up the Scout Sixty to be my daily driver, though with the lockdown I haven’t put a ton of miles on it yet. It’s a great bike for getting around. I’m a big guy, read heavy, and this bike not only fits me well it hauls me around with nary an effort. Most importantly when I’m on the highway it still has more to give should I need to overtake.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing motorcycle! I am beyond happy with this motorcycle. The handling, cornering and gear shifting is incredibly smooth. Comfortable seat position and the handlebar reach is natural. The fender rounds out the sharp look and natural lines of the bike. This is a powerful bike without being intimidating with responsive breaking system and easy throttling. Note: I ended up ordering the reduced reach kit for the break and gear shifter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First bike ever, awesome I bought this motorcycle in mid February of this year, 2020. So far, it's been an amazing experience. Certain things I would change is add a windscreen, like the Dart Marlin to keep the wind from blasting your stomach and chest. Another would be the seat, switch it out to something more comfortable if you plan on riding for any extended period. The clutch is very forgiving for new riders. It's fairly lightweight, low to the ground and quite balanced. It doesn't take much for a new rider to become confident in their ability to keep it upright at stops. I'm 5' 10" and I not only flat foot, but my knees have quite a bend when my feet are on the ground. The bike seems to be well made. Keep in mind that the Scout Sixty will NOT come with a USB charger, but the speedometer DOES have a place to place it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome styling, ride and value! I bought this bike in December 2019 after not riding for a few years. I am so happy I made this decision. Hands down the Scout sixty is the best value in the motorcycle game cruiser wise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE the bike, BUT So I purchased my bike on the last day of 2019. It was actually my very first bike purchase and I had done my homework. I was wanting to go Harley at first but realized it was going to be out of the budget, so when I came across the Indian I realized that this was going to be the route to go, especially since I heard they had a good reputation. Most of the deal was done over the phone and texts with my sales rep. He serviced me well and answered all my questions. Once they told me I was approved I went to the store to pick it up and I fell in love instantly. The bike rides great, even beyond my expectations. I do know that I was paying more then I should and I felt like they could have given me a better deal, but I was so happy with the bike that I was alright with paying more. I did have a pleasant surprise when they gave me a $500 dollar credit when they found out that I was a veteran. So with that credit I ended up getting a passenger seat, helmet and gloves. However, when I was shopping for these accessories, I started noticing that their gear was incredibly overpriced, almost ridiculously over priced, but again, I didn’t complain because they gave me the credit. The one thing that annoyed me though was that the rep had told me that my first tune up and oil change at 500 miles was FREE. When I hit those miles, I called service to set it up and they wanted to charge me almost $400 bucks. Needless to say I wasn’t happy about it at all, in fact I made it a point to explain to them that the sales rep had told me this. They then proceeded to tell me that they couldn’t honor that. So, I ended up taking it to a very reputable bike shop in San Bernardino where they charged me only $150. It kind of left a bad taste in my mouth because I do business with people on how they treat me. I am a man of my word and expect the same in return when they tell me something. It also made me wonder how the dealership can charge $400 bucks for service but then get the same service some place else for way cheaper. I know dealerships are all about making as much money as possible, but they should also not try to gouge people when servicing or selling parts. People will notice and go elsewhere for those kind of things. I have actually been ordering after market parts on line due to the fact that the dealership is overpriced. With that being said, I am not unhappy with the purchase. The bike is my new love and I am truly happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really REALLY nice bike My second bike. Rode a Kawasaki 500 for 8 years, wanted a "bigger" bike. Wrestled with all the options, settled on the 60. I love it. Its fast, its nimble, it's not a "girls bike" or a "starter bike". This is a legit cruiser. I have gotten so many compliments on its looks. It is an absolute blast to ride. Super quick but balanced. If you're considering one, get one!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome power I love the way this thing handles I went from a 780 pound bike to this one and at less than 550 pounds it handles like a race bike and explosive power just an amazing bike

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect motorcycle This is a motorcycle, as opposed to a computer with wheels and an engine. I am specifically trying to get away from gadgets and the Scout 60 is perfect to accomplish that goal in the motorcycle world. The Scout 60 is responsive, stable and easy to handle.for this 70 year old rider.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, “sport cruiser”? Since the brand came out under Polaris, I have been really interested in the Indian motorcycles. They look great (to me), the reviews are great and after taking a test ride I was hooked. Mine came with slip on mufflers and before taking delivery I asked the finance guy if there was any room in my approval for a tuner or intake. Fortunately, there was and the parts guy, who was very knowledgeable about all the products I mentioned, suggested the Indian brand performance intake. To my surprise it comes with a computer flash and really sounds and performs great. I am not a big fan of loud exhaust, in fact I really don't like people that rev their engines for no reason. That being said, when I wind this scout sixty up from a stop and whip through the gears close to the rev limiter, it sounds monstrous! It also gets me where I’m going with haste (Its quick!). I wouldn’t say this bike is fast because a non fairing bike is only as fast as you can put up with holding on against the wind. For me not wanting to struggle against the wind keeps me from potentially running into some legal issues. It does however get to 100mph without issue and quickly. I don’t know how much of this is attributed to the slip on exhaust, better intake and tune, but I’m sure it didn’t hurt. I have not figured out exactly what the top speed is, but without fairings and an open stretch if road, I don’t really want to. I live at the base of the rocky mountains, just below Estes Park and the road up and down the mountain seem to be what this bike was made for. The pegs are forward and high enough that they don't scrape. The engine has plenty of power and I actually love the low riding position (I’m 6’1). I am often tempted to shift my body and drag a knee (I haven’t yet, but seriously its fun on the twisty bits with the engine revving with the occasional growl and roar shifting gears out of a corner)! Perhaps the coolest thing about this bike is the classy look, to me its the ability to haul my posterior up the steepest part of the mountain at 80mph (8000 ft elevation) with my fat posterior in tow. The “parts guy” mentioned that the benefit of the Indian air intake and performance tune is that it more easily adjusts to Elevation change (pretty drastic in my situation) as other systems omit the O2 sensors and can mess up fueling and how well the bike runs with elevation change. I wish it came with bags and a cell phone holder, but there are always the next paycheck or two and the aftermarket to take care of that. Until then, I will be wearing a backpack and shoving my cell phone between my crotch and the seat. So the cell phone reminded me of the only thing I don’t like about the bike because the only time I can look at my phone (gps) is at a dead stop. Occasionally, when at a stop, I will shift it down to first gear from neutral and it will go into gear with a bit of a clunk. The only other bike I have ridden that did that was a Harley Fat Boy, except the fat boy did it in every gear. Maybe it has something to do with the characteristics of belt drive, but chain driven bikes and shaft driven bikes I’ve ridden in the past never seemed to do this. With the first gear clunk aside, this bike is awesome. Oh yeah, the other thing I don’t like about the bike has less to do with the bike and more to do with financing it. I will just say that it is best to save up and buy it with cash, because your $9,000 bike turns into $12,000 financed real quick with taxes and all that bologna. Thats true with every bike though. I have only had the bike for a total of 4 days, two of which were work days and I have easily put 500 miles on it. Luckily for me, I bought this bike on consignment and the original owner only put 750 miles on it. That was a good thing, because the first service is due at 500 miles (performed at the dealership before I signed for the bike) and the second somewhere in the 3,000 or 5,000 miles, I’m not sure which. Anyway, I love the bike, whats not to love? Its a sporty cruiser, made in America, pound for pound one of the best cruisers ever made, and it puts a smile on your face going to the store, granted you’ll have to do it with a back pack, but smiles like a kid with his backpack on the last day of school.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth and easy to handle I did the test ride on Ruby Red Scout 60. I thought the engine sounded great, the power it offered was more than enough for the type of riding you would do on a smaller cruiser bike. This bike had some options for shorter riders on it, but it was the only Scout 60 they had it seemed. I really like the red paint too.

Indian Scout
Starting at $11,499 US MSRP
2019 Indian Scout Indian Motorcycle Red / Thunder Black (ABS) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 988.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this bike! I have wanted an Indian motorcycle since I was a kid and I am thrilled to see what Polaris has done with the brand. They've done everything right and continue to improve year to year. My 2020 Scout ABS was built for me, from the handle bars to the forward pegs, it is a great fit and a comfortable ride. The attention to detail that has been put into this build is easily seen, even from a distance. It has the power to pass when needed, sounds great and looks like the Indian cruiser it was designed to be. I just can't say enough positive things about the Indian Scout ABS. I am really enjoying this bike and I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HD to Indian As a lifelong harley rider, and still an avid fan I made the switch from a Classic cruiser to a new Indian Scout. Overall, one word, "Amazing" Fit and finish- superb, handling- awesome, look- classic and retro. I know this might seem a bit trite, but shifting from 1st to neutral is precise and positive, unlike my previous ride which was cumbersome to find neutral. This just shows me engineering excellence, all the way down to the little details. Great job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for. I went into the dealership to purchase an Indian Scout for myself. Unfortunately when my wife sat on it, she fell in love. The bike fit her so well that I had to purchase it for her. Now I will have to purchase another one for me to ride.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly Recommend My only regret is not buying one of these bikes any sooner. The engine is an absolute blast. It can cruise down the street comfortably, but if you grab a handful of throttle it turns into a rocket. The stock bars were fine but I enjoy my hands up a bit higher and the mini-apes did the trick just fine. The forwards took some time to get used to since my last bike had mids but that was no problem. Very nimble and stable in the corners but you will scrape peg (or boot) eventually. The only thing that has started to become a bit of a nuisance is the stock seat. These 2020's look stunning with the Indian plate in the middle of the seat, but I have the misfortune of having that rest right on my tailbone. Most people end up switching seats anyway so no biggie but that might matter to some. Rides two up comfortably so there is not much this bike won't be able to do for you. I'll be hanging onto this one for a while for sure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We love the bike. Bought 1 month ago we love the bike it rides awesome looks really cool and retro we get to a of compliments. My only disappointment was within the first 2 weeks we had a part go out that kept the speedometer and a few other things go out. It took nearly 2 weeks plus of the bike being in the shop for the part and completion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Ride on a Small Tank After I got married I sold my first bike. We had kids to raise and things to deal with. But my wife promised me I would be able to get another bike once things were settled and our mutual finances set. 24 years later that bike is an Indian Scout ABS. Jade and Thunder Black. Its a beautiful machine and it rides like a 24 year long dream. That said, I spend too much time stopping for gas. This surprised me a bit. Motorcycles get notoriously good gas mileage; but the tank on the Scout is just a little too small. Now I don't do a lot of long distance riding during the week, but on weekends I like to get out on the road. I just have to stop every 120 miles to make sure I don't run out of gas. Another gallon wouldn't have hurt her look, Indian.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Me! My Scout was made for me! I am a re-entry rider and wanted something I could easily handle. Only did a couple modifications for better reachability. She has more power than you would think but when you need her to go, she's gone! Wonderful maneuverability and very easy to handle. I would easily purchase another one!! Only downfall is the stock pipes are too quiet for a bike that looks this good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ride, Great Look! The paint job caught my eye a year ago. When I found out the 2020 Scout would not have the Willow Green option, I began looking & found a new 2019. Took it for a test ride & was sold. Comfortable, responsive, and a great look, who could ask for more? Just went over 1,000 miles & still love the ride. Plus every time I stop at a light, folks pull up & tell me what a great looking bike. Love the classic styling. Indian hit a home run with the Scout.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Color, size and how light and peppy the bike is I've had this bike now for about 2 months, I really enjoy riding it. It is very light compared to my prior bike. The fit and finish is extremely good. I've had some great comments from strangers when i park it. Some of the things that I would change are as follows: Needs a more ergonomic and comfortable Seat. I added a Gel Pad to improve this. I believe that Indian needs to balance this bike a little more based on the additional weight of the exhaust pipe side on the right side. Also, the bike seems to over heat a little faster than my previous bike before the fan comes on to cool it down, but it finally does and that helps. The engine idle speed in neutral is a little high for my liking, but that maybe due to it being new and prior to the 800K checkup which will be in the next month or so. I'll find out about that then. But overall, I'm quite enjoying riding this bike. Can't wait till the Kuryakyn Bluetooth Speaker arrives and is installed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such a joy! I have had my scout for a little over a month now. Put about 800+ miles on. I love my bike. Think I need the extended reach seat to be a little more comfortable on longer rides but it is a joy to ride. Every where I go people stop and admire it. They put their kids next to it and take pictures. It sure is an eye catcher.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the bike, rides like a dream I've had the bike for a month now. It is a very well built machine, smooth acceleration and plenty of power. Comfortable and great handling. EFI has a light surge at constant speed, but great for most riding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for short trips I brought this scout for local and short rides. It makes a great second bike in which that’s what it is. Looks great plus I added a fairing to it with a radio plus other thing. The only negative is that it bottoms out so I plan on changing the fork springs as a start and add heavier oil. Also put a keyless ignition.

I have always had Harleys but back in feb I broke my ankle and my Heritage was to heavy for me especially having a weak ankle so I traded her in for a trike....It wasn't the same as riding on 2 wheels. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike for city riding I had been looking at the ISB for about a year or two. The Indian just won me with all it's features and looks. After purchasing and taking delivery I have not been let down. This bike just feels and looks amazing. It handles well at low speeds and if you need to pick up the adrenaline, this bike really picks up quick!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Motorcycle I purchased my Scout Bobber a little over two months ago and I could not be more happy with my choice. There are a few upgrades I did immediately unfortunately the one I should have done first was the seat. It’s great for short rides but anything longer and your tushy will def fill the effects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Bike I've had the Scout Bobber 60 for a few months now. I couldn't decide if I wanted to buy the 60 or spend the extra for the 20. The 60 has been great for riding around town and short interstate rides. The fifth gear on the five speed transmission is the same gear ratio as sixth gear on the six speed so the top end difference is negligible. If you're on the fence I would save a couple grand and buy the 60. You can do a lot of customizing with that extra money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not too but not too small Bought this bike 3 months ago, hit the 1901 mile mark relatively quick. Drives smooth... Several people complain about the stock seat, I havent noticed any issues (except the first however many miles the "break in" period). I do find myself reaching for more gear from time to time

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Riding on cloud 9!! This is the first Indian I have owned and I now know I will never change brands again. Being a relatively new rider, my first bike was a 500cc cruiser. I had my eyes on the Scout Bobber, but was concerned it was too big an engine for a new rider. Three years later, I finally got my wish and purchased my brand new Scout Bobber. Impressive is the best word I can use to describe this bike. It impresses people and its performance is impressive. I couldn't have asked for a better bike and I am in love.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Scout bobber I have put about 1200 miles in about 6 weeks. I love the bike. Great gas mileage. I get about 48 miles per gallon. My only real complaint is that I feel the seat could be a little more comfortable. Riding for an hour starts to hurt a little. I'm 5'11", and 200 lbs so I am not big or tiny.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor value Mostly, for the price I paid, the Indian has been a disappointment. I didnt even get it home and was already having small problems. Many things seem cheap and flimsy.. (brake lines, clutch and brake cables,Mirorrs, etc.). Ordinary parts like the seat need to be upgraded. I thought I was paying extra money and getting a premium motorcycle, instead I have gotten nothing but problems. I regret spending the money on the Indian. I was considering the Yamaha Bolt and wish I had bought it instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Isn’t she lovely! Isn’t she wonderful! First and foremost. Kudos to the marketing staff at Indian Motorcycle for understanding the power of infusing diversity into their marketing material. The fact that I was able to see Black men on and around the motorcycle was a powerful motivator for me to purchase an Indian Motorcycle. The Indian Scout Bobber 20 is absolutely lovely, pretty, wonderful, and made from love. I can just sit there and just stare at her all day. I was a little nervous about all the power, but I can tell you that so far I am enjoying the ride because I respect the motorcycle and ride within my abilities. I found out that the seat can be comfortable if I relax and place my butt square within the seat rather than towards the front. I love that it comes with UBS port, but so far I have not used it because I want to pay attention to learning how to ride.

Timeless look. Modern machine.

Indian Vintage
Starting at $20,499 US MSRP
2019 Indian Chief Vintage Thunder Black is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 591.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE This Bike! I love the vintage styling of the bike combined with modern technology. I wasn't ready for a touring bike and traded my 09 Road King in on this. I rode from Plymouth MA to Spirit Lake and toured the factory 2 months after purchasing the bike. The following year I rode from Plymouth to Cape Breton Nova Scotia to ride the Cabot Trail. Long distance is not a problem, bike handles great and is plenty comfortable. I installed Springfield bars and love them. The nostalgic vibe this machine displays is unlike any other. The build quality is excellent and touring the factory solidified my belief that I made a great choice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 2016 - Love the bike....hate the FOB I bought my 2016 Vintage new and have loved it except for getting stranded due to the horrible FOB quality. The ride is smooth on the backroads and the weight has saved me a few times. Indian should really do something to fix their quality issues since customers, like myself, may lean away from their brand for something seemingly simple to rectify. Maybe the new ones are better? You've lost an owner of a 2016 model! If you are not willing to stand by your past products what incentive is there to stand by you?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike!! Great riding and handling. I bought the bike about 6 weeks ago and cannot complain. This past weekend, we took a ride and stopped at a restaurant and parked in the motorcycle parking. There were 10-15 Harleys and our Indian. Our bike got more attention than all the other combined.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The power was very smooth and balanced. I’ve always wanted to test ride a Chief. The ride was much smoother than an H-D Roadking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beauty on two wheels I bought my Chief Vintage after owning a new Indian Scout for just 3 months. I love the retro styling and the two-tone paint. My daily commute takes me on the highway and this heavy motorcycle makes the trip very enjoyable. Plenty of power, and the SOUND...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feel in Love with riding again. Test rode this motorcycle. It felt great. All areas. Well thought build. I will be buying an Indian for my next bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great demo ride. I rode a 2019 or 2020 Chief Vintage for a demo ride, I was not told specifically which model year the bike was. I was not briefed on how to switch ride modes, so I cannot attest to the differences. I was told the ride would start in 5 minutes and three minutes later was running to get on the bike to join the demo group. Overall, I liked the Chief Vintage. It shifts better than my 2016 Chief Dark Horse. I wanted to ride a 2020 Chief Dark Horse, but that model was not among the available demo bikes. I will return when one is available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall nice bike Very nice ride. Really smooth engine when idling and excellent acceleration. Nice having the gears shown in instrument cluster. Only disappointment is that the saddle bags don't open outward.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth, powerful ride! I test drove this motorcycle and have to say it was the best machine I have ever ridden. The moment I pushed the starter button the engine produced a deep throaty rumble. As I shifted into first gear I noticed how smooth the shifting was. No clunking like other bikes, just a smooth sure shift into each gear. The sound of the engine & exhaust was full and powerful without being overly loud or harsh. As I rolled on the throttle the bike accelerated smoothly, with no hesitation and power to spare. The seat was very comfortable, however I have very long legs and I might want to make some adjustment for that if I ever own one of these motorcycles. The instrument panel was easy to read and had everything you could want. The controls, switches, etc are designed for easy use. I am pretty sure that my next bike will be an Indian!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed, mainly with dealers. Rusty, numbered 2014 Vintage. Ordered it before I even knew what it would look like. Nice for cruising and my wife likes it. Numerous problems. Unacceptable dealer responses. Can't write about customer service, so we'll leave it at that. Early on, I considered myself an ambassador for the brand. My enthusiasm has since severely waned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I can't find the words, but I'll try! I work for the "other guys". You know who! You can imagine the look on the dealership owners face when I pulled up and parked my new Indian Vintage in front of the building! He asked if he could ride it, and I said sure! He came back fifteen minutes later and said "Unbelievable! I want one!!!" I have been riding for over 50 yrs., and I have never ridden a more complete package than the new Indian Chief! I actually feel safer on my Chief than any other cycle I have ever ridden! The balance is amazing! I have four other "American "motorcycles in my garage and my daily rider is my Chief, and I ride it to work, which creates a lot of questions from customers. I simply tell them to "test ride one, and you'll buy it"! I do however have to say it quietly...….You do understand...…..I hope.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor top end power I bought a 2018 vintage for looks and dealer said it has more power then a harley. Now that was a big lie. It has no top end power I was very disappointed in performance. Now I just traded for a 2019 road king and boy that out performs the Indian tons of top end power.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Chief Vintage On January 20, 2013, I first laid eyes on Indian Motorcycle ‘s Indian Chief Vintage model at the New York Motorcycle Exhibition. I fell in love with the Willow Green and Cream paint, the tan leather fringe seat and saddlebags, and the acre of chrome. Today, thanks to Brookfield Indian’s Demo Days , I finally got a chance to ride one! What fun! My first ride on a bike different from my own in 18 years! Our group ride (16 riders) went around beautiful Candlewood Lake in Danbury and we got up to highway cruising speed on the way back. The big V-twin engine just kept sending good vibrations through the (very comfortable!) seat and handlebars the whole time. Scariest moment? Finding the brake pedal before we got to the first stop light!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty bike, nice ride I was a passenger and felt very comfortable with the way the bike handled and thought the bike balanced well and had plenty of power. The driver mentioned that it handled best of all the bikes we rode in the demo. The driver also mentioned that gear selection was very forgiving. We liked this bike best. Aesthetically very pleasing to me. I love the willow green and cream paint scheme with the brown leather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE my Chief Vintage!!! I purchased my 2015 Chief Vintage 4 days ago and have ridden it every day! It's an absolute pleasure to ride. So comfortable and nimble. You don't even realize you're on an 835 lb. bike. Superior balance! I love the Vintage's classic looks, the OG front fender, and the leather. Watch the leather, man! (Dazed and Confused). Not to mention the Thunder Stroke 111 has torque for days!!!! So smooooooth!!! Stops on a dime, too. When I began riding 3 years ago, I fell in love with Indian motorcycles. I like all of them and their individual nuances, but the Vintage was love at first sight. Now, I finally have it and I have to keep pinching myself. Even though I bought it pre-owned, it only had 12,500 miles and is immaculate. I'll be riding this bike for many years to come and enjoying every mile! Well done Indian!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Retirement Ride This is the bike I am purchasing in a couple years. I loved the ride and will make time to go ride the Springfield as well. The shift was a little shorter than I thought it would be but the power was awesome!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth ride! I tried a Chief Vintage in Rouyn-Noranda this weekend. Fantastic ! and smooth ride. 2019 Indian Chief Dark Horse Thunder Black Smoke is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 313.

Date published: 2019-08-08
Rated 4 out of 5 by from More leg room than the chieftan We rode this after riding the chieftain. Much more legroom as a passenger, just wish I was sitting a bit father back to give a bit more space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Ride! Fantastic bike! Great and comfortable ride, power and suspension were where more than satisfactory. Recommended. Throttle response lags a little and then finally comes on. Exhaust would also need to be upgraded for better sound.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2019 DarkHorse I really liked the dark horse ..it was unfortunate that the ride was short and not enough open road ..way too much traffic in the Oakville area I also took out a FTR1200 it was not too bad but mine for some reason kept stalling and had a choppy throttle response..i later found out that it did have an issue and was fixed immediately

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Bike ! I test rode this bike at Brookfield Indian and felt comfortable as soon as I started riding it, I was unexpectedly surprised at how well it handles,,,Indian did their homework with this one. I was impressed with the torque and smoothness of the engine...a little more horsepower would be perfect. The only fault for me was the forward controls as I am only five foot four inches tall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Newly converted Indian fan I am back in the market for a new motorcycle and been test riding bikes at americade. Was not excited about most bikes and then I rode the iIndian Chief Dark Horse. I never rode an Indian before and this bike made me a fan. It was also the professionalism and informativeness of the Indian staff that made this a great experience. My next bike will be an Indian.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent ride! I'm really thinking about purchasing this motorcycle. I get a lot more motorcycle for the money with Indian than with Harley. Great power, smooth ride on the highway and on the back Hill Country roads. I've been shopping for a motorcycle for the past 3 months. Most dealers are very aggressive. I loved the laid back..."let the bike do the talking" approach from the staff at Mission City Indian Motorcycle. Lots of options to meet my style and performance needs! What else is left to say?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding cruiseer I’m 5,10” 230 lbs. this bike fit like a glove. The ergonomics were spot on with great maneuverability and excellent horsepower in an exciting looking package.
Date published: 2019-05-21
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great powerplant I really liked the bikes handling and power plant. Thunderstroke is a great engine. The only thing I wish Indian would do is make a more stripped down version similar to main competitor models. Also with more modern styling as an option. That would bring weight down and definitely make me upgrade from mu Victory Octane. I am looking for a bigger model to upgrade in near future and hope Indian will bring such a motorcycle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Test Ride of the Chief Dark Horse® I was stopping by to pick up some parts for my bike and noticed that the had a Demo event going on. So on my way out I walked by to see what they had brought. I've always been a fan of the Dark Horse bikes. The old school look with some nice high tech features. I took the test drive and was not disappointed. It throttled up nicely and felt solid. It takes the curves rather well. I like this particular model mostly because of the no frills, basic look. Even though they have plenty of accessories that you can put on. For me, I like it just the way it is. When I wear out my current bike I plan on getting one of these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing engineering The bike is very well thought out. Controls are simple and accesible. The bars and seat are comfortable. The bike ran smooth and handled beautifully. I really want one! I hated getting back on my Roadglide to head home :)

Date published: 2019-05-04
Rated 5 out of 5 by from nimble? It turned to be far more nimble than I thought. It feels easier to lean into a corner than my scout. Ride is smooth, it's quite good at eating road inconsistencies. Engine sounds awesome.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Bike The seat is very comfortable, Drivability is great, handles awsome, floorboards are comfortable. I am 5'4 and I can flat foot the ground at a red light. I cannot find one fault with this bike, many aftermarket parts and upgrades available
Date published: 2019-04-12
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great over all This was my first time ever riding an Indian. I was amazed by the way it handle. The power is great and very responsive and over all a great bike. I love how easy it handles turns and curbs. Just a pleasure to ride
Date published: 2019-04-08
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gorgeous Motorcycle I really enjoyed demoing this bike. I was especially impressed with its slow speed handling. Most other big bikes feel awkward turning around in a parking lot, but the Indian was confidence inspiring. Out on the road it was very smooth and developed power right from idle. No need to rev this bike even to 5000 rpm. If I had any complaint it was the heat from the motor sitting at traffic lights. But, hey! this bike was built for the open road.

2020 Indian Chieftain Thunder Black is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 621.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent bagger Just done a demo ride on this unit, didn't purchase it.
Date published: 2019-10-03
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth and Powerful! I own an older Goldwing, and this bike has comparable ride. The Indian excels in power and driveability. The route they took us on was a good combination backroads. Then back on the freeway. A much longer ride than l expected. I gave it low score on the sound alone. The sound was good, just a little too quiet for my tastes.
Date published: 2019-10-02
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great bike, but to hot I love the handling, love the comfort. I did not like the amount of heat I could feel from the motor while riding. I also feel the front wing needs to be slightly larger to eliminate wind noise.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2020 Chieftain 116 Nice riding bike. easy to maneuver. Light feeling for it's size. Stereo was a bonus as it's something I have never had on a bike. Features were many and would take some time to get to know how to use them all but that is a plus. You would really not need much except for the speakers in the tops of the side bags. Definitely makes the system sound better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Snappy Test ride the 116 in Ignacio, great throttle response in sport mode. Not setup for a 6'3" guy. But fun none the less. Bike seems to run hot, the seat on the chieftain got hot, the Roadmaster was better. Not so hot. And slot more room on the Roadmaster.
Date published: 2019-09-02
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent ride with cool features Great ride. For its size, it definitely seemed a little on the heavy size, but it was a great, stable ride. The sound was quite good on the stereo system. Navigation was very nice. This may be my next bike ;-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really does the job. Road other V-Twin for 33 years and metric bikes before that, when looking for a new bike I road the different models numerous times, then road the other brand, kept coming back to the Chieftain. Very satisfied with the ride, handling, and ease of operation. Nit-pics
Date published: 2019-08-13
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of great features, smooth power. This was a test ride only. I have a dual sport and an adventure bike now. This was my first cruiser style ride. Low center of gravity, easy handling, good power. Short test ride so I did not get to work all the accessories. This ride has me seriously considering a new Chieftain.
Date published: 2019-08-12
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly Surprised! I test rode this bike while at Sturgis and was immediately in love. I currently rode a H-D Heritage Softail, so I was expecting to feel quite different on this bike. I was immediately comfortable and was surprised that I was almost immediately more comfortable on it than my own bike! My only regret is that I’m not able to buy one right now, but will be in the near future for sure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice ride Great riding bike overall. Rear suspension was a little stiff and still a lot of heat under the seat from the motor, should be vented better. Controls were easily accessible and bike had plenty of power
Date published: 2019-08-08
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Power Took a rest ride at Sturgis. With I would of chosen a larger touring model as I was way to big for the bike that I rode

Date published: 2019-08-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent ride!!! Exceiient power!!! I had a demo ride on Chieftain... Overall, loved the bike!!! Excellent ride, handling, & power!!! Loved the ability to select between Tour, Standard, & Sport modes... Loved the touch screen... The only drawback was that I felt a little cramped... i currently ride a Victory Cross Country w/ plenty room to streach out...But, as I understand a change out of the seat should fix that...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, great, greater I will bay it because Iike how I ride the bike very comfortable, nice and easy to handle and powerful
Date published: 2019-08-07
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor fit and finish Not enough power for a 111. Didn’t like the way the handlebars stretched straight back. The gas gauge, power button, and hazard button are huge and look like they cane off a truck.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful but less than expected I took a new dark horse with the 116 big bore kit for a test ride and it was nice. It had a noticeable difference in power from my 111 Roadmaster Classic but I kinda expected a little more. Nevertheless it was still a nice ride.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Motorcycle This is a beautiful bike with Indian like contours. I like the burgundy/titanium colors and the aesthetics get you noticed on the road. It has some touring features, yet considered a bagger, which I do like the large size hard bags with FOB locking mechanism. Nice tip over bars to protect the bike and the passenger side has its own floor boards. It is comfortable and very easy to ride/maneuver on the open road and on mountain curves such as Colorado. Quite practical, and the handlebars and floor board allows you to be seated in a very relaxed position. Nice size leather seat for good comfort and support. Suspension is also great. It has nice tires with TPS and it also has an anti-lock brake system. The Thunder Stroke 111 engine is outstanding, it has a significant amount of torque and is quite impressive. The display, both analog and digital are nice included features. With the three optional riding modes, you have choices for when in the city and on the highway and varying on the riding mode, you get to feel the difference. This is my fourth bike, yet first Indian and must say I am impressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size for a female my size! I owned a Vintage Chief for a few years. I loved the bike so much for touring and long distance, however my lifestyle changed a bit, and this bike proved a bit too big and heavy for me. After a few demo rides on the Scout and Bobber, I jumped on the Springfield. This was the perfect size for me. I'm 5'6", med to heavy build. Some of the other bikes had a long reach for my legs or arms, so I did not ride these. I realize they can be adjusted, this is just what was available at the time. These Indian bikes have the perfect balance, and are extremely comfortable to ride. The Springfield, to me, was a bit more compact and very manageable to ride.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NICE SOLID RIDE! We liked the colors, all the chrome, the fact that it's an American made bike with an air cooled motor. We liked the ride and handling over our 2019 Harley.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent bike...but I bought this 2017 Springfield new in February 2018. After riding it 7500 miles I feel I can make a honest evaluation of the bike. The looks of the bike are spot on and draws attention and thumbs up everywhere I go. Handling is really good and takes curves like a smaller bike weighing much less. It has lots of power especially in mid range. Sound is great once you install some slip on pipes. Excessive heat from the catalytic converter was unbearable for me. There are aftermarket options to overcome this. Wind buffeting behind the windshield is a problem but fork wind deflectors help. I sometimes remove the windshield and ride with a full face helmet. This is like having another bike to choose from. Warranty has covered a cracked windshield and a bad voltage regulator. This bike has a lot of good things going for it and over all I like and enjoy the bike. But... the one thing I really don't like about the Thunderstroke engine is the excessive valve train noise from 1800 to 2500 rpm. This is where the engineers let something pass that they should have eliminated in the beginning. Using the windshield holds this noise around your head and is irritating to me. I guess between loud pipes and earplugs I will live with it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I enjoyed the guided ride. I enjoyed the guided ride, but I did find it not being able to see the front wheel or fender at all distracting. Also the distance from the ground to the footboards I find higher than on my heritage Softail. I like the speedometer and all the information available on that face. Being honest with you I do not think that I will be purchasing an Indian. I am sort of disappointed about that because I have a friend that has five or six old Indians and he swears by them .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Exhilaration I've had my 2017 Springfield for 29 months now and have 23,500 miles on her. And all that in Utah with our limited riding seasons. Great bike. I'd like to have five different bikes in the garage for whatever mood I might be in on a particular day, but that's not possible; so, versatility was the key for me. With the removable windshield and hard bags, in a moment I can head out on a sleek muscle cruiser; yet with everything thing on, I have a worthy cruiser. I think it's extremely important to really ask yourself why you ride or are wanting to ride in the first place. For me, it's the freedom, if I needed to use just one word. It's the sensation of floating or flying and just forgetting all of the demands of this world that seem to be pressing in every day. This bike is worth every penny. And my wife has learned to love the fresh perspective that I come home with after a ride. One final thought: you hear some express concerns over the weight. If all you do is sit on this bike at a dealership, it will seem a bit heavy; but I seem to remember women feeling the same way about big SUVs in the 90s before actually driving and learning that you could practically steer them with one finger. It's not heavy, and you need to actually ride this awesome bike. Lastly, you hear some talk about the heat, especially off of the rear cylinder. I ride in Utah where summer temperatures routinely push over 100 degrees. I've been on this bike in stop-and-go traffic in those temps. Do I feel the heat? Yes. It's a classic American v-twin. But is it painful, or unbearable? No. I can only say that if you use either one of these as a sole criterion for not buying this bike, that would be a real shame.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike Took the Springfield Dark Horse for the Demo ride. Even in Standard mode the throttle response was quick. This bike had great power delivery, a smooth motor and a smooth comfortable ride. Fit and finish was excellent. The only draw back was the heat from the rear cylinder.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good bike but not for me I liked the power, handling and brakes of the Springfield and the bike is great looking. Unfortunately, the cockpit is too large for me. The reach to the handlebars caused my back muscles to cramp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome ride! I test rode the Chieftain and Springfield, and while the Chieftain has more creature comforts, the Springfield has a far superior ride. I could ride the Springfield all day.....and perhaps never come home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well built, very smooth ride, good power The Springfield is very nice. It rides very well on rougher roads. Has plenty of power and the electronics tell the rider everything they need to know. I don't sit as low in the bike as my current bike, so I was a little less comfortable. I think a driver backrest would help with the comfort, although overall I was comfortable during the test ride. Overall, I great bike.
Date published: 2019-06-30
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprisingly good power and handling. I was surprised by the power and ease of riding this bigger cruiser. I am not used to forward controls but quickly learned to manage. The only distraction was the tall windshield that forced me to look through it. That would be something to change.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than anything else 21 k and two years later. Can't find fault. Tested them all. BMW, Honda and Harley. Those 3 couldn't touch it for ride and comfort or power. And Indian Springfield beat them in price. Harley lists a cheaper Road king with no extras. Once you get it up to Springfield standards it's 25K.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome bike I’ve had 10 bikes and my favorite was always my road king, until now. This bike is a road king on steroids. I had to make a few personal changes to the bike, like beach bars and a floor board lowering kit but now it’s as perfect as a bike can be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Love Lucy! Great bike! The ride is smooth and easy to control. Love the how you have so much room to move your feet. The adjustable windshield really help when on the highway and you roll it down when your just cruising around town.sucks down gas fast but it’s so cheap to fill up that really don’t mind. I have nothing bad to say about this bike. I added the mid high handlebars and they made the ride even better.

Great exhaust sound to be stock.I have stayed in the standard driving mode until I get more acquainted to the bike (First Street Bike). Indian Motorcycle of Charlotte was great on the purchase details and no BS!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Indian Motorcycle of Lafayette made me a deal I couldn't refuse. It was a new leftover bike, so I guess they wanted to get it out of the door. When I seen it, it was love at first sight. My last two Indians were Stage 2, but I'll leave this one stock, but maybe louder pipes in the future even though the stock pipes have a nice sound. This is my 3rd Indian motorcycle. I like the new front fender, and it's now easier to clean the front wheel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bagger ever! I'm comparing the Chieftain to an HD Ultra Classic Limited (2012), 2004 Honda Goldwing and 2013 Victory Cross Country Tour. It obviously lacks storage and heated grips. Wind/rain protection is reduced because it has no lowers. However, the power is better than the 103 (and it's cooler to the rider), it's power is on par with the GW and Vic. It's low speed and high speed handling are better than all 3 other bikes. It's ride isn't as plush as the Vic and GW, but light years better than the HD. Fit and finish are almost as good as the HD, but much better than the other 2. Overall I'm very happy with the Chieftain!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shake & Bake Here's the deal, I had Victorys and Harley Davidson and now I have the Chieftain. The Indian Chieftain is the best there is on the market besides the Indian Challenger. Plain and simple! I wake up in the morning and ride excellence!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adequate motorcycle I purchased my motorcycle approximately 2 months ago trading in another brand. I have had the first service completed and have been in various traffic conditions. Freeways to country roads and the motorcycle has performed flawlessly. My biggest concerns with the motorcycle are reliability and depreciation. I like the led lighting, the maneuverability and finish but feel buzzing at the handlebars and the foot boards.
Date published: 2020-02-03
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handling I like the way the bike handles. It’s much more smooth of a ride than when I had the Harley

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2020 with 116 is a smooth beast. I rode the 2020 Chieftain Limited at a demo event at Fox Motorsports in Grand Rapids MI. In stock trim it was smooth with tons of torque. Wonderful machine. Great fit and finish. I appreciated the lowered rear suspension. It just keeps getting better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfortable Fantasic bike with amazing handling and smooth suspension. Only 2 small complaints...helmet buffeting, could use flip windshield. And a bit buzzy through the handlebars at highway speeds, could use rubber mounting or balanced engine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First impression at 350 miles I bought this bike a month ago and couldn't be happier with my purchase so far. The experience started at the dealership, they made you feel like family and followed through with every commitment. Being early spring in New England I was never a fan of the cool weather riding till now, 50 degrees on a bike you love is much more enjoyable. No regrets and surprisingly I do not miss the bike I traded in for my Cheiftain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING RIDE!! Surprisingly nimble for the size. This motorcycle is absolutely amazing!! I have been doing research for a new bike for the last 5 years, and Indian always had an intriguing style. And it has only been improving. My first bike was a 2006 Honda Shadow AERO...this machine blows that out of the water. I fully expected this bike to be cumbersome on the road and difficult to handle because of the sheer size, but boy was I wrong! It handles better than my old bike, which is considerably smaller and closer to the ground. The storage and features on this bike alone are worth the purchase, let alone the power train. I haven't been able to ride much since the purchase because of weather, but I find myself sitting in my garage just staring at it...its that beautiful!! Well done, Indian Motorcycles!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2020 Indian Chief Dark Horse Ruby Smoke Outstanding ride. Comparing it to my 2017 Chief Dark Horse is literally night and day. All the features, i.e., Nav, 3 choices of engine power modes, stereo, fairing and last but not least, the ride! The ride was much quicker, smoother and precise, not as heavy a feel, I think due to the newer steering geometry. Excellent!
Date published: 2019-10-07
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smooth Ride Took a demo ride to check out the bike since looking to buy a newer bike in near future. The Indian has plenty of power. Easy to operate controls and a great look. I am 6'4 and 300Lbs so the fairing came back just a little too far for me. The mid rise bars did give the bike more of an open feel. Seat and riding position were comfortable and steering was responsive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice, better than Harley, but not my Victory I rode this bike today at a Demo site. Found the standard grips to be uncomfortable, the lack of a heel toe shifter to be annoying, and the engine vibration to unacceptable. Overall, for a tall man (6'3" 255) it fits and that is important. Much better than any of 3 Harleys I also demoed today. Yet I will keep my 2014 Victory Cross Country. Don't know why Indian who I believe has a superior product to Harley Davidson seems to be trying to make bikes more and more like them.

Indian Challenger Limited
Starting at $27,999 US MSRP
2020 Indian Challenger Limited Thunder Black Pearl is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 51.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great handling Years ago I traded in my BMW 1600GTL. probably the best road bike I've ever rode. I traded it in for an Indian Road Master. Just wanted to slow down and cruise. The Road Master is a fine MC, of course didnt gave near the handling capabilities of the BMW. Took the RM in for service. Store MNGR says test drive the newest Indian. Was a I impressed left dealer with it. So reminded me of the handling capabilities of the BMW.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All around great bike I purchased this bike as my first cruiser several months ago. Since purchasing, I've enjoyed the experience, features, and power of this wonderful machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Performer!!! Love the power and comfort, suspension and brakes so far beyond other baggers I have rented on longer trips to test before purchase. Rear suspension in particular saves my back where other brands are ridiculously lacking travel and control, sealed the deal!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great looking bike, well engineered and fast I have been riding this bike almost 1 month. I traded my 2016 Scout, which I loved but when this bike came out, I knew I had to check it out. I have not been disappointed, just a super bike. The adjustable rear suspension, the ride is super comfortable, the engine and the transmission shifting is just smooth and sure, just a super bike, no complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun Ride!!! Had it for about 2 months and have enjoyed this bike so much. Lots of fun to ride and really do enjoy the features. Can’t seem to sync my phone with the Command Center on the bike, but it’s all good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from New Bike Gremlins I bought the bike May 1 after careful consideration of a few Indian and “other” models. It is all that and more! That’s the problem, the “more”. We have a few electronic gremlin’s that pop up on occasion that nothing a restart of of bike hasn’t cleared up. Knowing new models of anything mechanical could have problems, I am glad I took the risk. As long as software updates are available as kinks are worked out I know things will settle down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the bike I love the bike. The power and handling make this bike the best bagger in the class. You do not need to spend a bunch of money on it to make it an awesome performer. I have a few minor electrical glitches that need taken care of, but overall the bike is fantastic. My list of issues are.. Brake lights come on after hitting a bump ( my friends challenger does this also). Chassis light comes on intermittently but does not set codes.(friends does this also) Intermittently it will not power up from the start button and I will have to use the fairing switch. Fuel gauge is slow to read full( also intermittently). Even with these issues I have no regrets buying this bike.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bike, needs a few updates I love this bike. I have owned several motorcycles and this is one I just cannot get off of. Indian knocked it out of the park with this one . All that said I am bummed that within the first 500 miles I have had 3 check engine lights leaving me on the side of the road and then limping home. My dealership had determined the issue to be the throttle body so hopefully this fixes the issue. The other issue is the throttle lag, the software needs an update, there is a disconnect from the time you turn the throttle and when the bike reacts. Overall I think this bike is amazing and I am confident Indian will fix these issues. I honestly believe the Challenger has reset the bar as to what an American bagger should be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great step forward Coming off a Victory Vision for the last 5 years. Also have had multiple Gold Wings plus lots of bikes outside touring category. Indian has a very strong motor. Pulls hard from bottom and doesn't die out at 4.5 thousand RPM's like most large v-twins. I ride 2 up and this Challenger is a bit more compact then the Vision and the seat isn't as comfortable. Both bikes have 6 gallon tanks but Vision got an extra 50 miles out of the tank. Sacrifices we make for the power I suppose. Outside of those areas the Challenger is a better bike everywhere else and a blast to ride.

Indian Challenger
Starting at $22,999 US MSRP
2020 Indian Challenger Titanium Metallic is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made the switch from HD and couldn't be happier I bought mine about 2 months ago and have put almost 2000 miles on it. It handles better than my HD did and has alot more HP prior to any changes. You definitely get more for your money. All I have to say is once you ride it you will switch brands or upgrade to challenger immediately. To me the bike is a great mix of cruiser and sport bike

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT BIKE I bought this a month ago. I now have 2,000 miles on her. By far the funnest bike I’ve owned. Would absolutely recommend. I traded in my Harley Davidson sport glide. The engineering on this bike is incredible. Very thought out and designed well. The weight of the bike is low so it deosnt feel like a 800 lb bike. Very agile and well rounded. Seriously go test ride one what do you have to loose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance and comfortable to cruise. After 1,100 miles and a GPS upgrade, I am 100% confident that I made the right choice. I knew I wanted to trade in my old bike for a bagger but did not know which one. After hours of internet research and a few test rides, I chose the Challenger base model. As a former sport bike rider, I was looking for performance and also a comfortable ride over long distances and Indian nailed it with the Challenger. I have the best of both worlds, and I'm looking forward to this summer and many years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The bike I've been waiting for I have been waiting for years for this bike. After I bought my 2017 Chieftain Dark Horse brand new, i fell in love with the Indian brand. I started doing 400-500 mile days no problem. So then, it was "Man, if they ever make a fix fairing, I will have to have it". Little did I know the Challenger was going to be so performance based! So not only did I get a fix fairing bagger, but I got a highly capable one, that fits my riding style. The bike is quick, handles like a dream, so much so that some of my favorite roads are no longer my favorite, they just are so effortless on this bike. Even the base model stereo is decent enough that I didn't have to upgrade it right away. The slipper clutch makes it nice and easy on my hand on all day rides. The ONLY problem I have found, is the seat is beyond severely lacking. After about 75 miles, I was sore. After about 50, my girlfriend needed stops much more frequently. It offers little to no support. I fixed this with an aftermarket seat, and all is good again. I see myself owning this bike for a long time, and putting some serious miles on. My poor Chieftain looks sad and lonely parked next to my new favorite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Balanced I haven't had much seat time yet due to work. Break in service just completed and have a few scheduled rides over the next couple weeks. So far Im please with how the bike performs

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bike!! Purchased 02 Apr, wanted GPS upgrade but have to wait over 2 months for a modem, seems incredible at this day and age to have to wait for something that long? The Ride Command has some issues also and waiting for a software upgrade to fix again seems like others with the same issues appears to be no rush to fix and inform owners of know issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike with an awesome dealer network. I have had my Challenger for two months, it is one of the best bikes I have owned. It has a few issues that. we are working through, Indian has been very responsive to my concerns. This is a new bike that is bound to have a few hiccups. It's all about how the manufacture deals with it. Indian has been great. I would tell anyone that is looking to pull the trigger!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hands down a great bike! Wow-what a bike! Yes, sorry to say I was stuck in the Harley rut. Wanting something more, I ventured outside the normal and started reading. Everything I saw about the Challenger was intriguing. Now, I can say that I’ve experienced it firsthand. Power on the bike is phenomenal. I can’t wait to get stage I on the motorcycle, squeezing a little bit more. I live in Northern California and ride the hills, and this bike hugs the corners feeling secure. The brakes are powerful and commanding with no grab. I bought the bike out of state and road home 800 miles in one day. This, to me, is the testament of how comfortable the bike is, just getting on and riding. This next weekend, off to the Pacific Coast Highway 1000 mile trip, totaling now 3000 miles. No complaints at all for the bike, if anything getting used to new controls and layout. If anyone is looking for an excellent performance bagger, you can stop right here. To sum it all up, I love my Dark Horse flat black Challenger!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall I bought my bike 2 months ago. I have put it through it’s paces, here are my thoughts. Styling is excellent! Power windscreen is awesome and effective! HP and torque are awesome, always have available power when needed!!! Handling is the best! Handles like a much smaller bike!!! Cargo room, is excellent, with plenty of space. Would actually prefer to have a removable trunk sooner than later for my companion rider. With a sweeping backrest and arm supports for her comfort. Factory exhaust note could be meatier without having to buy the $1k stage 1 exhausts to get desired exhaust note. Map overlay for weather is a big ?!!! With a downpour outside my garage it didn’t show that I was in any weather. Not sure if this is because I wasn’t moving or what. The garage door opener screen cannot be figured out. There are no steps in the 272 page manual on how to set it up. :( The horn button and radio volume button need to be swapped. You have to lift your thumb too high to hit the horn, which could be dangerous in traffic. The cruise button could be better designed and user friendly. Push to turn on is ok, set/accel/coast is ok, but resuming requires one to almost overreach to pull the button back causing de-acceleration most times. Premium care products for the matte finish should be offered. I had to go to Chemical Guys to get premium care products. A 25 1/2 saddle would better suit my 5’6” frame.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lifetime Harley rider converted I wanted to buy a new bike this year. Actually I had made an agreement with myself that I would buy a new Harley this year. I actually attempted to connect with three different Harley dealers but none seemed interested in selling a bike to me. I decided to give an Indian a shot so I went to my closest dealer and rode a Chieftain. I like it but I wasn't "impressed." When I returned to the dealership I was eyeballing the Challenger and was told I could give it a drive if I liked. The dealership is right beside an on-ramp. By the time I hit second gear I was sold. This thing pulled like a freight train! I ran up to the next off-ramp, and turned around to come back to the dealership and signed papers. I will say that with the Dark-horse Challenger model the headlight is out of place!!! The bike is so sinister but the headlight, being bright and shining is so out of place. I invested in an aftermarket LED Headlight with Black reflectors to complete the look of "Darth Vader's Motorcycle." I did several upgrades starting with the factory mid-rise bars (perfect fit for my height) and the infinity pegs. I also added the backrest with luggage rack and an exhaust (factory exhaust is WAY too quiet.) The bike is perfect now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bike Traded my BMW K1600B on a new Challenger. Couldn’t be happier! The Challenger has fantastic low end power to get you out of trouble when needed and is matched by smooth cruising to boot. I am a believer in the Indian brand and now my Chieftain has a stable mate. Keep up the great work!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible bike I bought this bike a month ago, coming over to the Indian family from Being a 15 plus years Harley owner, and I can honestly say it was the best decision I’ve ever made. The bike has ample power, standard features that are optional on other platforms, and handles like a dream. So far, it has totally exceeded my expectations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do yourself a favor and buy a Challenger!! I have 2500 great miles on this bike and I absolutely love it. The power is spectacular. Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2020 Challenger Dark Horse I have had this bike for almost two months now, and it is everything I wanted and needed in a bike. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bike, love the look, the power, not the bugs I have done almost 1,000 miles with it, love the look, the balance, I added stage 1 air intake and the stage 1 slip one from Indian, changed the handlebar and now the bike is just perfect, plenty of power and comfort, but I do have issues with the ride command, between the day /night issue where it doesn't know if it's day or night and the screen is invisible in night mode during the day, and also the weather overlay map I never seen it function and got soaking wet and caught by rain which was not visible in the map as it should have been and it's advertised,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It. So many good things to say. First off, love the engine and power train. Pulls from down low all the way to the top. And pulls hard. Suspension and chassis are top notch. This bike loves to lay into turns but is very stable in a straight line. Ergonomics are well thought out. All the controls and information is easy to use and see. Great platform, great bike. Keep it coming.

Indian Roadmaster
Starting at $29,999 US MSRP
2019 Indian Roadmaster Thunder Black is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 1178.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Tourer Excellent power and handling. Had to add rocker shift and swap out the grips and seat (the standard factory seat is more comfortable than the custom seat my model came with). Love the options, though the blue tooth won't work with any model ipod (I don't have an ipone and rely on an ipod for my music) though the literature says otherwise. However, the bike is excellent, with both smooth throttle response and a really cush suspension. I ride with my wife, so comfort is king, and this bike delivers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Happy I bought this bike about a month ago and already have just under 3,000km.Only have 2 minor suggestions .1: Put the crash guards in front of the front cowling to protect them and 2: put an engine temperature gauge of the bike. Everything else is top notch. Could not be happier!!!!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Paint finish is poor I am extremely disappointed with the lack of power that this trike has. I think I should have been warned that the trike kit robs all the power. Very sorry I purchased this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy So Far! I have only put on about 3100 miles so far, but I love this bike! No major issues other than the exhaust needing to be tightened constantly. Very smooth ride and plenty of power. Gets really good mileage, the tunes rock and it handles like a dream. The comfort is top notch, 400 mile days and I can still walk, I have major lower back issues and a 200 mile day was hard for me to handle before.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect The stereo leaves much ro be desired. Reception for station is lowsy in many areas even though I don't live in a rural area and I was disappointed that I could no longer control my Pandora app when connected via bluetooth. Power is great and I love the ride modes. Overall, a great bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good is now GREAT I was an early adopter buying a 2015 Roadmaster. It was a good bike but lacked some of the functions I was looking for. Fit and finish were not excellent. Fast forward to 2020. I just bought a factory demo 2018 with 4000 miles on it with the full new bike warranty. I am very impressed with the upgrades. The RideCommand is a huge improvement! The revamped hand controls work better and are easier to use. The fit and finish are improved - especially the paint job quality!!! My prior RM was trouble free and a very comfortable tour bike. I look forward to many happy and trouble free miles on the new RM. I have added the backrest which I consider a must. I added crash bar toe pegs which I prefer. I added the Flare windshield which for me offers a smoother and quieter ride, better ventilation and better visibility. I added the Kuryakyn heat deflectors. They help and don't cost much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Class Touring Bike I tested a few before I got here. Was excited the first time I took a Roadmaster for a test ride. Never been on one and only knew Indian from a distance. I really was just checking to see what was on the market before I chose. This bike had many features that made the bike perfect for me on long or short trips. I was impressed with the handling and look of the bike. I have owned a few different brands and knew right away I was going to enjoy owning this bike. Performance is more than most will need in regards to torque and speed, there always seemed to be more left in the tank as they say. Its a solid ride and easy to feel confident if you are moving up to a touring bike as I have experienced. I am glad I bought the bike and look forward to many miles of smiles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite Bike of all time! As a daily rider, I ride everyday weather permitting. I have already put around 2k on this bike and enjoy it on long trips and around town. The new 116 motor pulls very strong. I have had some minor glitches with the Ride Command 2.0 electronics. It won't sync my contacts on my iphone 11. Also I hear a short burst of audio every time I crank the bike even if it's muted. I am really hoping this will be addressed in a forthcoming software update.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love everything about my Roadmaster! This is the first bike I've owned Deb from the start has been nothing but a pleasure to ride! I've had people follow me for an hour just to find out what it is. And I've had a lot of Harley Owners telling me they're coming our way... my Roadmaster is the best bike I've ever owned. Thank you Polaris for bringing a great and beautiful motorcycle back!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great power and smooth ride This is an awesome bike, the only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because the seat is very uncomfortable. I was told it would get better with time and it has so far but my Harley stock seat was perfect from the start.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 16 states "round" trip This is the third Indian Roadmaster I've owned since 2015. What a bike! I got the second one for the GPS upgrade. This one, I purchased in early May because they finally put out the color scheme I was looking for (Icon). I immediately went on a road trip to see my oldest daughter and grandchildren, and my youngest daughter. In total, 16 States. What a ride. Smooth. Fast. Comfortable. Couldn't ask for more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 2019 Roadmaster - A Masterpiece. It's only been a little over 6 weeks but I think I've found the best bike I've ever ridden. Wind protection for both myself and passenger is as good or better than anything I have ever made miles on. And that includes 10 years and over 125,000 miles on Goldwings. The riding position for myself is easily the most comfortable I have found. The one negative is my bride and back seater isn't as comfortable as she was on the road sofa aka Goldwing. But we're working on adding accessories to hopefully address that. Happy wife, happy life, right? Been eyeing the Roadmaster since I first saw one in 2015. Looking forward to many miles on this magnificent machine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some good some bad The gps mapping feature is terrible, seems like old tech. I am still wondering why both mirrors are the 'objects are closer than they appear" type, I find this a bit frustrating. The seat is just ok, I would think a high end bike would have the newest tech and be very comfortable to ride, All that being said this is still a very nice ride! Get lots of compliments on the looks, and it is a beauty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it I bought this bike two months ago and am currently very happy with it. I got back into riding 2 years ago after 38 years off motorcycles. Before buying this bike I went through 2 Harleys (2010 Heritage Classic and 2016 Road Glide Ultra) before buying the Roadmaster. I wanted an Indian from the very first but settled for the Harleys. After being away from riding for so long I wanted to buy used initially but couldn’t find what I wanted in the used motorcycle market so I settled on the Heritage and after a while upgraded to the Road Glide. I never was satisfied with the Harleys. They were both good bikes, they just weren’t what I wanted. I finally “bit the bullet” and put down the money for a new bike and got what I wanted all along (Indian Roadmaster). I’m so happy that I did. The styling is unsurpassed while the ride is significantly better than either of the Harleys. Additionally, the Roadmaster is comparable in size and weight to the Road Glide but it has the feel getting off the stand and at low speed more like the Heritage (a 200 lb lighter bike). At highway speed it’s more comparable to the Road Glide but with significantly better rear suspension. My kidneys can really tell the difference.

Indian Roadmaster Dark Horse
Starting at $29,999 US MSRP
2020 Indian Roadmaster Dark Horse Thunder Black Smoke is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 1178.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Ride I bought it a little over a month ago and already have over 3000 miles on it. It's a comfortable ride for both the rider and the passenger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just a little upgrade I moved from a 111 Chieftain Limited to a 116 Roadmaster. Having a trunk and lowers again make long rides a lot easier. The 116 power helps too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected I have had the bike about 5 weeks now and couldn't be happier. Only 4100 km so far but the feel, handling are exceptional and always the center of attention when we stop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Ever Indian Roadmaster I originally "bought " the elite in Sept 2017 but had to postpone the purchase and glad I did because the following spring I had a heart attack so I wouldnt have been riding last year but I finally bought my elite this Jan 2019 at a HUGE DISCOUNT (30%) brand new and that only made the deal of the century sweeter...this bike is absolutely the smoothest riding and highest quality bike Indian has ever produced and the paint is the most sparkling custom paint I have ever seen on a factory bike I have a gilroy chief for over 15 years , this one will last 30 thirty no problem

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Ride; Blow them Harleys right off the road Purchased 2-14-2018, Had the big bore kit/new pipes/Dyno done, This far exceeds my expectuations as I have owned over 35 brand new Harley's with the last 6 have been the Ultra Classic Screaming Eagles with/headers/Tuned. This Indian will out perform, out handle, very aggressive, the center of gravity is lower, and it has an aluminum frame. I will never buy myself another Harley. I ride over 50,000 miles a year on a motorcycle all year round. If you looking for some awesome low end torque, this is where it is. I currently own 7 street legal bikes, with 3 of them are tour bikes, I am telling you nothing has ever compaired to this 2018 Indian Road Master Elite. I few of the electronic features do not have all of the features that I like, but every bike I own one will do this and the other will not

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In love with my 2018 Roadmaster Elite I was so excited to take her home! What a smooth ride. She shifts smooth as silk, from 1st through 6th, the transmission is spot on. Neutral is found easily when needed and each gear has the proper torque and range. The 111 Thunderstroke is a dream, and even the stock pipes sound just fine...might want a little deeper and louder, but she’s great right off the showroom floor as is. Storage space is plentiful, bring everything I need and everything is safe and secure, waterproof, and easily accessible, from the trunk, to the saddles, to the two lowers and even the dash compartment, perfect. The electronics are fantastic. Cruise control works perfectly and switches are improved over past years. The RideCommand system is fantastic, and the USB or mobile sync are great. The customizable display screens give you everything you need, and more than you could ask for. And the sound, WOW...300 watts of power. Even at 90mph, sound is plentiful...I have never even gone over 8 on the dial, and it is speed sensing...one nitpick, the navigation volume is even louder then the music, eek. But wow, music sounds great. All of the bling is amazing, from the Pinnacle mirrors, floorboards, chrome galore, and bumper to bumper, everything is form fit and finish, perfect. The paint is gorgeous, the showroom didn’t do it justice, the sun makes the whole bike glow and shimmer...between the blue, the glass flakes, and the chrome...WOW. She handles like a dream, from high speed curves to slow parking lot maneuvers in first, she instills confidence in the operator like no bike I’ve ever owned. So far I’ve only added the driver’s backrest. I’m 6’2” and 350 pounds, I’m also lowering the floorboards and adding a touring windshield...I think, for now, that is all she needs...she came near perfect right off the floor. Great job Indian...and kudos Indian Motorcycle of Charlotte on running the first, finest, and fastest Indian dealership in the world.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not enough power To get it up to speed you have to buy a new intake and exhaust system to open it up. The adjustable wind shield is to bouncy and shakes with every bump. It was a very comfortable ride, it was easy to control and maneuver but the shifter is to far forward
Date published: 2018-09-03
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth, easy to ride, sits low and comfortable. This was my first test run of the Indian Roadmaster. Not as loud as a Harley, but much more smooth to ride and does not "clunk" as you shift. Like that! It has an array of gadgets that I believe would take a while to master but all are necessary evils for us today. I found myself wondering how to jazz up the lighting, adding some bling to the persona to make it mine, and such things as I was riding. Overall I believe that it is a bike I could live with for a long, long, time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Test ride for two up riding. I took my wife on a test ride as we are considering a different two up bike. I liked the features of the motorcycle from the abs brakes to ease of use for the controls. For me handle bars where not in the best position. Change requires aftermarket parts. Seat for both rider and passenger seemed good but test rides are to short to really know. Biggest factor for low rating is the heat both rider and passenger have to contend with. Temp was low 80s wind 10 to 12 mph. In a 20 minute test ride that included interstate and city traffic. The heat as a result of the lowers and air vents left the backside of my thighs medium well done. My wife said the heat on her calves and up into her chest area had her sweating in two miles. In contrast the Chieftains with out lowers allowed for better air flow that didn't concentrate heat. I would give 4.5 stars to it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome bike I have ridden a lot of different bikes and put on many miles across the US. I currently ride an 02 and an 07 goldwing. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as my wings, but it was awesome. Super comfortable at 6'2, great sound from the pipes, I could hear the music crystal clear at 85, lots of power, and I felt cool on it. I haven't ridden the new Harley's yet, but I'm seriously considering trading one of my wings in. The fit and finish was way nicer than when I looked at them a few years ago and the display screen is awesome. My only problem with it is the price tag, but that goes along with all of the baggers these days
Date published: 2018-08-22
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has features I wouldn’t have ever thought. Bought the Roadmaster a few month ago and am still pinching myself. The smoothest riding bike I’ve ever risen. The looks and quality of ride is unmatched in my humble opinion. A lot of my future plans include riding my Indian.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome bike I bought this bike two weeks ago, and I love it. I’ve already had the dealer install a stage 2 upgrade. After my breakin service I had the dealer installed the stage 2 cams And I’ve noticed the bike runs much cooler now. I’ve owned Harley’s before this bike, but the ride is far better on the Indian, even my wife has commented about the comfort of the ride compared to the Harley’s. Looking forward to some longboard trips in the smokies. Great job Indian

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A smooth change I have owned 12 Harley Davidsons in the past ,the last being a 2015 ultra Limited. My wife was very concerned about changing motorcycles. We are both never going back to the Harleys. The Indian road master has the on the bike extras which are all add ons to the Harley. The Indian has twice the suspension and is very smooth on the bridge expansion joints. The Indian has the correct gear ratio from parking lots to driving city streets to hiways. There is no jarring clunk when shifting into gear and neutral is very easy to find. The Indians gear drive on the primary side eliminates the annoying jerky action which is on the Harley. The engine performance is outstanding .Oil changes only require one location not three ,well done Indian.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best bike I have ever owned! We've had it for 3 weeks and can't stay off of it. It's everything anyone could want from a touring motorcycle. The quality and attention to every detail is amazing. We still like our Harley but the Indian is at the top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from INDIAN FTR 1200 S RACE CARBON My god! What a bike! The FTR wasn't listed so I chose the next best option but this is a review of the FTR. Lemme start by saying, frankly, there was never a single product in the Indian portfolio that would get me into one of their showrooms. That all change when I first saw glimpses of this magical beast. Upon going to the demo, I must say I am quite smitten. The balance, the power, the ergos... Just WOW! You boys did WORK! Phenomenal! The gobs of torque on the low end was guttural and the bike just pulled like a locomotive! I haven't smiled so much at a demo in years! Indian is officially on my radar and I look forward to what comes next!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great over all This was my first time ever riding an Indian. I was amazed by the way it handle. The power is great and very responsive and over all a great bike. I love how easy it handles turns and curbs. Just a pleasure to ride

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ride and power I ride (and love) a 2016 Springfield. The new model feels similar, but the 116 motor is so much more powerful. They set me on the ride mode of touring, and the around town riding was very similar to my own bike. The difference came when I got to the highway and accelerated. There was a lot of power, which continued in every gear and at every RPM. Very fun ride. The controls felt smooth. Only complaint was that I prefer a windshield at highway speeds (it was a cold day!).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tremendous Power Excellent ride and fit! The power of the 116 with Stage 3 is Insane! I have a stock 2018 Chieftain Limited with the 111 and it has tons of power and torque, but the 116 in sport mode is crazy!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Where are the differences? I honestly don't see any major differences in these new bikes. They look like the ones that were out last year and before that. I test rode one of these bikes and while they are nice, I still don't see a lot of upgrades or major changes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is truly a great machine~! I've had this bike (2018) for a year now, and at just over 12,500 miles, I think I can finally give an honest and accurate review. In brief, I'm still thrilled with it. Very comfortable (max. miles per day so far is 841) and so easy to handle for a cruiser; I rented a road king while in Denver, and I was so happy to get back to my SDH I just cannot express! I rode from Minnesota to Louisiana last month and truly enjoyed the trip. I typically ride to work and back as well. In fact, in the last 5 months I've been on the bike all but 12 days. Just a couple observations though - it is burning a little oil, which distresses me because I took such OCD-like pains to follow the break-in procedure accurately. Really - I did. However, it's only about a pint every 1,000 miles and oil is cheap. Also, a quicker throttle response would be nice; the power is definitely there, but one really has to roll the throttle to tap it. I tested a new Roadmaster, and the "sport mode" response is exactly what this bike needs. I prefer the '18 styling to the '19-20...who thought that all of the gloss black paint belonged on a flat black dark horse??? As in so many other Indian reviews, I'll mention how many comments I field on a routine basis - people love this bike.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice bike! Demo days rider 8-30-19 Bettendorf Ia. The one I rode was Matte white. Nice cushy seat and smooth ride. Shifting was good, Decent Power to weight ratio. Little vibration through bars ,But not terrible. Nimble for the size it is, I would own one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Springfield Dark Horse with Ape Hangers Demo ride was very nice but my first time with ape hangers had me a little concerned. I just didn’t feel in control as I do on my 2017 Roadmaster Classic. It also had after market exhaust with high flow air cleaner very powerful had to really hang on!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Comfortable, stable, but slow. Had a test ride at a Demo event. Bike was comfortable and was a relaxing ride. However I found my self missing the acceleration I was looking for in the first two years. Out of the three engine modes I don't think I could stand using anything other than sport.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Strong, smooth and stylish! Loved the ride of the Dark Horse. Wide power band and soaks up the road - good looking cruiser.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth, Solid Ride I have been reading reviews and I wanted to ride the Springfield Dark Horse myself. I thought it felts supremely stable, had plenty of grunt and was easy to maneuver.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I wanted to like this bike... I test rode a Springfield and the ergonomics did not work at all for me (I'm 5'10"). My knees felt like they were pushing into my chest when I had my feet resting on the floorboards and it also sorely needed a heel shifter (did I just not see it?). The top of the windshield was directly in my line of sight and I experienced intense buffeting above 35mph to the point that it was very uncomfortable. The speedometer is way too low on the tank so I had to look down to check the display which takes my eyes off of the road. I'll stick with my Scout. It may not have the size and weight that would be ideal for long slab rides but I can stretch out, see my speedo without lowering my head and ride buffeting-free until above 70mph.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Upgraded air and exhaust I have a dark horse and wanted to try ape hangers and stage 1 air cleaner
Date published: 2019-06-23
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2019 Springfield Darkhorse I took one of these out today on a demo ride. It was outfitted with probably the tallest ape hangers Indian offers (unlikely aftermarket on a demo bike) as they were definitely more than shoulder height on me. I had it in sport mode which definitely provided plenty of pep in its step partnered with at least the Stage 1 exhaust and high flow air cleaner (unsure if had Stage 2 cams). No complaints, smooth ride, plenty of power, and no faring blocking the road ahead of me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from decent Power on the bike I rode was good. Employee told me it had a stage 3 upgrade. Different power mode was cool, adjustable windshield was cool. Over all look is just ok compared to the bike I currently own.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Plenty of power It was great on the highway and handled well on bac roads. Shifting was stiff, but that at be because it was so new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Ever Indian ride. Exceeded my expectations on every level. Smooth and powerful ride. Only problem, can’t decide between Chief Vintage & Chief Springfield.
Date published: 2019-06-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Demo days test ride I was very curious about this bike. I have a Victory Cross Roads Classic and this is basically what my bike became after the production stop of Victory. The bike was the most comfortable of the 3 that I demoed; Roadmaster, Chieftain LTD, and Springfield. The seat was a bit further back than the other 2 giving me more leg room so I didn't feel as cramped, although still not as much room as my Victory. I would have to go with an extended reach seat to be more comfortable. I also wasn't happy with the position of the instrument cluster. It was positioned to far down on the fuel tank so in order to see it I had to look down and take my eyes off the road to see it. Having it mounted higher on the tank, or as a gauge between the handle bars would be a better spot for it. That way just a quick glance will give you everything you need to see.

Indian Chieftain Dark Horse
Starting at $27,999 US MSRP
2019 Indian Chieftain Dark Horse is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 301.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice ride I bought this motorcycle about a month ago very nice bike rides really nice, nice looking but there were some quality issues from the manufacturer I noticed there were a few little nicks on the gas tank and also a lot of loose bolts and parts that I had a tighten once I got home from the dealer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The bike for everyone. I purchase this bike 2 months ago. I went from a harley sporter to the indian cheiftain. My original plan was to buy a Harley street glide, but after comparing the both bikes the choice was a no brainer.

Rides so nice & handles like a dream. I feel like I can do anything on it. If your thinking bout buying one, STOP, no more thinking, just get to your nearest dealer & bring it home. I added a Freedom Shields Windshield (14”) & a Heel Shifter (should be standard?)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive ride! Had some rough weather roll in while we were on the ride; Hail, heavy rain! Still I did not want the ride to end! Loved riding that bike! I have test rode the HD Street Glide and Road Glide...I am digging the Chieften Dark Horse above all!

Indian Roadmaster Dark Horse
Starting at $29,999 US MSRP
2020 Indian Roadmaster Dark Horse Thunder Black Smoke is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 1178.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just a little upgrade I moved from a 111 Chieftain Limited to a 116 Roadmaster. Having a trunk and lowers again make long rides a lot easier. The 116 power helps too.

Keep up the great work!

All the controls and information is easy to use and see. Great platform, great bike. Keep it coming.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Queen of the Road I bought my Roadmaster in May and have 5,200 miles on her. She is strong, polished and powerful. Great low speed handling. Her only drawback is she does not like sitting still and gets HOT quickly.
