2019+ FTR Tour Collection Installation

This video describes the installation process for the Tour Collection of accessories on an FTR. It includes the Tank Bag (0:19), Aviator Seat (5:29), Luggage Rack (7:08), Messenger Bag and Rack (8:27), Windshield and Mount (11:22) and Phone Mount (15:30). Always wear safety glasses and nitrile gloves when servicing your Indian Motorcycle. Before installation of any accessories, park the bike on a flat, level surface and remove the key. 

Tank Bag

The Tour Tank Bag is part number 2883517-FBA. It is not compatible with the Tracker Seat and Tracker Seat Cowl kits. To install the Tank Bag on your FTR, follow these steps. For more information, view the instructions.

1. With a T40 TORX® socket, remove the two passenger handle fasteners on each side of the bike. Remove the handles, and set them aside. 

2. With a 6mm Allen socket, remove seat fastener from each side of the motorcycle frame. 

3. Pull the seat back and lift up to remove the seat from the motorcycle. 

4. With a 4mm Allen socket, loosen the four bezel fasteners from the tank bezel. 

5. Remove the tank bezel, and set it aside on a soft surface. Use care to avoid misplacing the compression limiters.

6. Pivot the center console and pull forward to remove it from the tank cover. 

7. Remove the the two tank cover fasteners from the rear of the tank covers with a 6mm Allen socket. 

8. Move to the tank covers, and pull outward at the bottom of the cover to disengage the rubber grommets.

9. Lift the cover up from the alignment tabs on top and remove from the vehicle. 

10. Remove the two seat mount fasteners with an 8mm socket. 

11. Place the rear mounting tab over the mounting location with the loop facing down. 

12. Reinstall the seat mount fasteners. Torque to 48 in-lbs (5 Nm) while holding the mounting tabs in place. 

13. With a 10mm socket, remove the two alignment bracket fasteners and two washers. 

14. Place the front mounting tabs over the mounting location with the loops facing down. 

15. Reinstall bracket fasteners with washers. Torque to 96 in-lbs (11 Nm). 

16. Spray soapy water on the tank cover mounting grommets to prevent the grommet from begin pushed through the metal bracket. 

17. Continue by installing the tank covers on their alignment brackets, ensuring they are fully seated. 

18. Firmly push the lower tank cover into the grommets, ensuring both tank cover rivets are fully seated and the grommet has not been pushed through the bracket. 

19. Reinstall the two tank cover fasteners. Torque to 36 in-lbs (4 Nm). 

20. Reinstall the center console trim into the bottom bracket and pivot down to engage the four hook-and-loop pads.

21. Reinstall the tank bezel, compression limiters and bezel fasteners. Torque the fasteners to 36 in-lbs (4 Nm). 

22. Before installing the seat, ensure the lower bag strap is flipped up over the tank trim. 

23. Identify the two tabs on the underside of the seat.

24. Slide the seat onto the support bracket and into the front mounting bracket, ensuring the two tabs slide beneath the support bracket. 

25. Secure the rear of the seat with the two retained seast fasteners. Torque to 84 in-lbs (9.5 Nm). 

26. Reinstall each passenger handle with the two retained two handle fasteners. Torque the fasteners to 19 ft-lbs (26 Nm). 

27. Place the tank bag on top of the tank. 

28. Attach the rear bag hook to the rear mounting tab. 

29. Attach both front mounting hooks to the front tabs. 

30. Adjust the straps to ensure the hooks are fully engaged and the straps are taut. 

The tank bag is designed to protect your belongings in all weather situations. For the best water resistance, ensure the roll-top is rolled at least three times and the rolled fabric is facing upward to prevent the water from pooling on the fabric and leaking into the dry compartment. 

Aviator Seat Installation

The Aviator Seat is part number 2883503-VNA. To install the seat on your FTR, follow these steps. For more information, view the instructions

1. With a T40 TORX® socket, remove the two fasteners securing the rear passenger handles on each side of the bike. Remove the handles, and set them aside. 

2. With a 6mm Allen socket, remove the two seat fasteners behind the handles on each side of the motorcycle frame. 

3. Slide the seat back and up to remove the seat from the motorcycle. 

4. Identify the two tabs on the underside of the seat.

5. Slide the seat onto the support bracket and into the front mounting bracket, ensuring the two tabs slide beneath the support bracket. 

6. Reinstall the two seat fasteners. Torque to 84 in-lbs (9.5 Nm). 

7. Reinstall each passenger handle and two handle fasteners. Torque the fasteners to 19 ft-lbs (26 Nm). 

Luggage Rack

The luggage rack is part number 2883511. To install the luggage rack on your FTR, follow these steps. For more information, view the instructions.

1. With a T40 TORX® socket, remove the two passenger handle fasteners on each side of the seat. Remove the handles. 

2. If needed, install the two plugs into the open ends of the luggage rack. 

3. Align the four luggage rack mounts with the passenger handle mounts, and install the fasteners and washers on one side. Do not torque at this time. 

4. With a 6mm Allen socket, install the fasteners and washers on the other side of the rack. Torque to 18 ft-lbs (24 Nm). 

The luggage rack has a maximum load weight of 9 pounds or 4 kilograms. Avoid exceeding the recommended weight capacity to prevent uneven load distribution.

Messenger Bag and Rack

The Messenger Bag is part number 2883500-FBA. The Rack is part number 2883516. To install the messenger bag and rack on your FTR, follow these steps. For more information, view the rack instructions.

1. With a T40 TORX® socket, remove the two passenger handle fasteners on the left side of the seat, and remove the handle.

2. With a 5mm Allen socket, remove the rear-most sub-frame fastener and discard.

3. Before proceeding, the Accessory Mounting Kit (part number 2883842) will need to be installed. For more information on the installation process, view the instructions.

  • Ensure the correct orientation of the mounting bracket. The longer end of the bracket should face rearward.
  • Install the bracket with the two provided fasteners. Torque to 19 ft-lbs (26 Nm). 
  • Reinstall the passenger handle with two fasteners. Torque to 19 ft-lbs (26 Nm). 

4. Firmly push the round plug into the side bag mount. 

5. Align the side bag mount with the accessory mount. Loosely install with two top mounting fasteners, lock washers and nuts. Do not torque at this time. 

6. Loosely install the side bag mount to the sub-frame with the provided fastener and lock washer. Do not torque at this time. 

7. Continue by loosely installing the side bag mount to the back side of the passenger foot peg with the two provided fasteners. 

8. With a 5mm long ball-end Allen socket, torque the sub-frame fastener to 96 in-lbs (11 Nm). 

9. With a 6mm Allen socket and 13mm wrench, torque the top mounting fasteners to 19 ft-lbs (26 Nm).

10. With a 10mm socket, torque the foot peg fasteners to 84 in-lbs (9 Nm). 

11. Open the strap on the back of the bag. Slide the strap over the lower bag mount and re-secure to the bag.

12. Wrap the straps over the top of the rack and buckle. Pull the straps taut and ensure the bag is secure.

The messenger bag is designed to protect your belongings in all weather situations. For the best water resistance, ensure the roll-top is rolled at least three times and the rolled fabric is facing upward to prevent the water pooling on the fabric and leaking into the dry compartment. 

Windshield and Mount

The mid windshield is shown in the video. The windshield with headlight cowl is part number 2884009. The mid windshield without headlight cowl is part number 2883506. The windshield mount is part number 2884011. Other windshields include the low windshield with cowl (part number 2884010) and low windshield without cowl (part number 2883507). To install a windshield and mount on your FTR, follow these steps. For more information, view the instructions.

1. If applicable, remove the four headlight cowl fasteners with a 4mm Allen socket and remove the cowl.

2. Remove the two fasteners from the top of the headlight bracket with a 5mm Allen socket. 

3. With a 5mm Allen socket, remove the two lower headlight fasteners at the base of the headlight bracket. Turning the handlebars from lock to lock will help improve access to the lower fasteners.

4. Tilt the assembly forward to gain access to the connectors behind it.

5. With a flat-blade screwdriver, lightly push the tab on the electronic throttle connector and slide it off the push-pin clip. Disconnecting this connector is not necessary.

6. Disconnect the headlight from the chassis harness. The headlight connector will remain installed onto the push-pin clip. 

7. Before proceeding, ensure the face of the headlight assembly is protected with a cloth or other soft surface before placing face down. 

8. Loosely install the left- and right-hand mounts on the back of the headlight bracket with the four included fasteners and washers.

9. Slide the windscreen mount assembly over the headlight bracket and place one spacer between the windscreen bracket and headlight bracket in each top mounting hole.

10. Loosely install the brackets onto the windscreen mounts with the included bracket fasteners. Do not torque at this time. 

11. With a 5mm Allen socket, torque the bracket mounting fasteners to 96 in-lbs (11 Nm). 

12. Reconnect the headlight connector to the chassis harness connector. 

13. Reinstall the electronic throttle connection onto the push-pin clip on the back of the headlight mount. 

14. Reinstall the headlight assembly and align the mounting holes, ensuring the brake and clutch cables are routed behind the middle of the headlight.

15. Reinstall the two lower fasteners while turning the handlebars as needed to improve access.

16. Install the two provided upper fasteners. Torque all headlight fasteners to 84 in-lbs (9.5 Nm). 

17. Torque the bracket fasteners to 96 in-lbs (11 Nm). 

18. If applicable, install the headlight cowl and four fasteners. Torque the fasteners to 18 in-lbs (2 Nm). 

19. To install the windshield and wind deflector, remove the four mounting fasteners and caps from the windshield bracket with a 4mm Allen socket. 

20. Align the wind deflector with the arms of the windshield mount and loosely install with the four fasteners and caps. 

21. Torque the windshield fasteners to 96 in-lbs (11 Nm). 

Phone Mount

The RAM® X-Grip® Phone Mount is part number 2884101. To install the phone mount on your FTR, follow these steps. For more information, view the instructions.

1. Loosen the jam nut on the mirror stalk with a 17mm wrench. 

2. Spin the mirror stud counter-clockwise to remove from the perch.  

3. On the phone mount, turn the dial on the sock arm counter-clockwise to separate the X-Grip® cradle. 

4. Remove the four tips from the X-Grip® cradle legs. Apply a thin layer of the glue provided to each leg and reapply the rubber tips. Always make sure to follow all warnings on the adhesive package.

5. Stretch the tether over the ball end.

6. Reconnect the sock arm to the cradle and turn the dial clockwise to re-secure. 

7. Pass the mirror assembly through the phone mount bracket and install on the mirror perch. Do reinstall the spacer from the mirror assembly. The phone mount bracket takes the place of the spacer. 

8. With a 17mm Crowfoot wrench, torque the mirror jam nut to 12 ft-lbs (16 Nm) while holding the mirror in place. 

9. Ensure the mirror is tightened securely, using a 14mm wrench if necessary. 

10. To install your mobile device, widen the X-Grip® to fit your device. Then stretch each corner of the tether over the corners of the device. Allow adhesives to dry for at least 24 hours before riding with a mobile device secured to the mount.
