Rated 5 out of 5 by from Santa brought me this bike on Christmas Eve. I am loving my bike. I can't stop grinning! It is too much fun!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike. Great price !!!! I purchased my Scout 60 in Dec. 2016. It is my first American made bike. I love it. The fit & finish are superb. The power is excellent. The ride is smooth. The bike is overall winner

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2017 scout I bought the bike in January and awaiting my membership packet and IMRG membership. Im in MA so the weather has been poor but did manage to get in a couple of rides. The bike rides well and true with plenty of power. I waxed the bike before riding, but simply driving on city streets I picked up a couple of paint chips on the fender so Im leery of the soft paint issues Ive read about on line. Also the horn is poor, quickly replaced with a stebel. Slip ons are next as the stock is kind of moped-like. not many OEM accessories such as a narrow tank bib. Floor boards have been on backorder. My dealer MOMs Revere MA has been great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect first bike! I thoroughly enjoy the nimbleness and power of the Indian Scout Sixty. It has forgiveness for minor mistakes and enough HP to get the rider out of danger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rides smooth I am enjoying my Indian. It rides well, feels good.
Date published: 2017-02-21
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome First Bike! I am the QUEEN of the road! I've been a proud Indian owner now for 4 months and I absolutely love my new Scout Sixty. I've had ZERO problems with it and I can keep up with my Dad on his HD Road King going 80mph. Just broke the 1200 mile mark on my bike and am super pumped for my big road trip to Ohio from FL. The only negative thing I have to say is I wish the leather saddle bags could fit more stuff. They are super stylish and I love them, but it stinks that it's hard to squeeze things in there on extended rides.
Date published: 2017-02-21
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my 60! I bought the Scout 60 as my first motorcycle ever and I couldn't have made a better choice. This is a wonderful motorcycle to get established on the road with and has enough power to keep you entertained while doing so. I can't tell you how many compliments I get on it too. Indian Rider for life now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable and reasonably priced I was looking for an American cruise for under $10k... The Scout 60 is a nice bike, fun to ride and falls in the price rqnge

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most Fun You Can Have Fully Clothed - Period. I couldn't afford the 1133, but when I went to the site to say "bye", there was the 60.As a novice with over 6,000 mi, I CANNOT say enough good things about this bike. The lean may have already saved me from injury. Someone left a working Bic lighter in Indian Red on my seat in a parking lot. Just a tiny cross-section of the awesomeness of this motorcycle. I haven't felt like a real badass (in my head) for years. Now it happens every time I rip the throttle to lose some fool who can't drive and is endangering my safety. Thank you Polaris. American machinery of high quality makes...life better, so to speak.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's definitely an experience You ever just want something and don't know why? I have a lot of Harley friends and will never talk poop or fight over which is better. I've always wanted an Indian and I don't know why. I always figured that since they're collectibles, I'd never afford it. Then they rebooted them and I'm thinking, I'll never be able to afford that either....until I walked into the dealership and actually started talking numbers. I didn't intend to buy right now but I did. The dumbest thing I could do because I had a nice v-star that I was satisfied with, and it was paid off!...but you know how it is, you want something and you just have to have it. LOL I'm hardly ever impulsive but what the heart wants, the heart wants!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing bike Picked it up Nov. 1st. Finally putting miles on it. Great "refresher" bike for those of us that haven't ridden in over 13 yrs. Has pickup and power, and doesn't ever vibrate at a standstill or at higher speeds.MUCH better than Harley equivalent of both Sportsters.
Date published: 2016-12-12
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely happy former Sportster rider I got my Scout 1 year ago & could not be happier with my purchase. I intentionally waited 1 year to post my review so that the newness would wear off some before posting. Newness may have wore off but not the excitement every time I ride it. I was a diehard Sportster fan til my husband convinced to try the Scout. As said, couldn't be happier

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A nice american cruiser... I was in the market for a around town / day trip cruiser that would be fun to ride. And Indian had the answer with the Scout..
Date published: 2016-12-06
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and Nimble! I just bought my Indian Scout Sixty this fall, and my only complaint is that winter's first snow came too soon for me to ride as much as I would like to before waiting for the spring thaw. After spending the last 7 years riding exclusively Harley's, I find the Scout to surpass anything I experienced before. The bike's pick-up, maneuverability, and size are perfect for me. At 5'-3", the 25" stand over was the perfect solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice motorcycle I got the sixty middle of October ,1000 miles in 4 weeks, nice ride, great power,Ride down to Daytona this March.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm in love My first bike and couldn't have made a better choice. Great ride and plenty of power for me.
Date published: 2016-12-05
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Brief report I have only had my scout sixty for a few weeks...700 miles on it...Due to sudden health issues that just came up, I will have to give up riding or life...bummer.. I like this bike a lot..I don't see any major drawbacks...I bought corbin seat from another and have not even tried it out.. The lack of all six gears is a minor pain in the keister because I often ride between 50 an sixty mph and 4th gear seems a bit busy and 5th gear is a bit sluggish at that speed range...(For those who do not know, the sixty has the same tranny as the big scout but the 5th gear is removed and it has the same "top" gear as the big Scout.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indian scout is an awesome bike I first saw this bike in a magazine and loved the classic look. I picked it up in April and just put it away for the winter. Absolutely love it. I added white walls and a tan seat.
Date published: 2016-11-24
Rated 5 out of 5 by from classic look so easy too ride. great balance. all the power and style.
Date published: 2016-10-29
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Bike The bike is nice. It is easy to handle. I am 5'3" and can hold the bike up easily. I did have a leaky gasket but warranty is covering that, however it does seem like it takes an unusually long amount of time to get it to the shop (could be the shop or Polaris, I'm not sure). Aside from the gasket, the bike handles well, but do to its weight, it does get a little shaky in the wind. I really like the bike itself and would recommend it to others.
Date published: 2016-10-16
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic Bike, not really for long touring I drooled over this bike since introduction, took a demo days ride, and a year later finally traded in my Harley Fat Bob for it. It's lighter, lower, and more powerful, handles much better, and most days of the year is going to be a superior bike in nearly every way. Where does it fall short? Touring. Getting this up past 65mph on the highway and the bike doesn't ride straight as an arrow, it's whipped around easier in the wind, and takes more attention to keep it straight. Not bad on a commute or day ride, but I wouldn't want to deal with it on a long tour. Tires or suspension swap might help alleviate it, but in the meantime it's not a deal breaker since I ride it every day possible, not just for touring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like the contrast of black & white Mechanically sound and the power is always there. Handling is great.

2022 Scout Black Metallic is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 1091.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Scout! Demo ride in Laconia: I've always loved the design of the Indian machines, the Scout and Bobber have great styling lines, Scout has a rich blue tank color, tan seats, chrome pipes, great looking machines. Comfortable setup, soft seat and gripping the bars seemed like a perfect fit to my body, easy to hop on and ride away. Nice engine sounds, great power though the gears, sporty, it was a really fun ride. I found myself saying, “I really like this bike” multiple times, it’s a machine that stood out as a one I'd like to get. (5 stars for ditching the group ride demo setup!)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smooth ride Rode this bike at Americade - found it very easy to control, despite the feet forward controls which I'm not a fan of - good power, but easy to manage, great seating position. Really enjoyed the ride. I currently rode a 2001 Honda ST1100.

Date published: 2019-05-26
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very impressed with my first ever ride This was first experience with an Indian and I am impressed. I chose the scout bc it’s lower, which I like. This bike is lighter than my current one but with a little more power. I was comfortable with the power but I want to try another style to feel the difference. Jay was wonderful and very happy to meet him.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice bike with a few niggles It may not be exactly fair to review this as I arrived at Indian on my H2. My wife was riding an FTR 1200 and I rode this (didn’t want to hold the group up). Overall it was enjoyable. Nice little grumble. Good pickup. Totally different riding style that I’m not used to - forward controls and sort of a tilted seat. I gotta deduct points for the nice ‘massage’ I got once I hit highway speeds. Vibration was very pronounced. This bike had reduced reach (which I didn’t know or need) but it would be great for those who are shorter. Bike is nice and low too so shorter folks can be flat footed. Overall, my first time on a Scout and I was pleasantly surprised. Oh, and last thing, it was a lot smoother than I expected. But again, vibration at higher speeds.

Date published: 2019-05-17
Rated 4 out of 5 by from fun!!! I enjoyed my test ride on the scout. It is a very nimble, powerful easy to ride bike. I like the fact there several comfort options to help make the perfect fit for the individual, ie: different bars, seat floorboards, etc. The lines on the bike are beautiful and the color choice is extensive.
Date published: 2019-05-17
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun bike Very nice bike...Ride the big Scout...Very peppy throughout the rev range...A little small fit 6’4” frame...Still loved the ride!!!
Date published: 2019-05-10
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great handling I'm 5'-6". I love the seat height that I can place my feet flat holding the bike up. Great power. Smooth ride. Great handling. Excellent brakes. Very comfortable seat. Reach to the bar was good: not too far; not too close. My only reservation is the placement of the foot controls forward was not to my liking. I'm sure there's a conversion kit that can place the foot controls further back to what I'm more use to.
Date published: 2019-05-08
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Demo Ride - 2019 ? Scout / Springfield Scout ....Fun bike to ride, Seems responsive - but doesnt seem to shift smoothly. Do not like the small diamter of the bar/grips I am 5'3' and the pegs/shifter causes your knees to be in a constant cramped /bent position Seat not very comfortable Riding in a semi bent position over the tank, not comfortable - Would definately Need diff. bars Springfield, Being 5'3' would need to lower an inch...for slow turns... Very resposive, comfortable seat, bars/grips felt good,Great ride
Date published: 2019-05-06
Rated 3 out of 5 by from needs to go on a diet was looking forward to riding this piece of art for weeks..after riding this, i have to say that the bike was average. It def needs to lose some weight or get more HP. Uninspiring would be my review of this bike. I was looking for a heart racing or at least giggling type of ride.. It was neither unfortunately..the gear box was notchy and actually hit neutral a few times which was a little un nerving. It reminds me of a girl I used to date...beautiful, but that was it..pretty short adventure with that one.
Date published: 2019-05-06
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hold on ! Very smooth ride, lots of power, fuel injected, and low to ground
Date published: 2019-05-06
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Real nice power to weight ratio. You will love the power and handling of the Scout. The quality is evident in every detail however I found the seat on the model I rode to be lacking in comfort. I was told there were other seat options available so this might not be a deal breaker for the Scout. Overall I found the Scout an excellent around town and short trip bike.
Date published: 2019-05-06
Rated 3 out of 5 by from test rode a Scout... Had a test-ride yesterday, and altho' I thought the Scout was a GOOD bike, I did NOT like the 'forward controls', and I thought the heat coming up my inner thigh on the left would "get old" pretty fast in the summer.

Date published: 2019-05-05
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome bike I bought in January of 2019 love the bike and have to go up to a chieftain some day but the scout is a bike I can do for both long and short distance .Can't go wrong with buying the bike. A lot of plans to go places this summer with it.
Date published: 2019-04-29
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent bike Near perfect for the short rider. Would benefit from the stronger engine in the FTR 1200
Date published: 2019-04-29
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Power! The Scout is an amazing machine. Not overwhelming in size, easy to handle, rather lightweight but has a motor to be reckoned with. This motor has torque delivery similar to an electric motor, ie , it is RIGHT even at low rpm. Then just increases with RPM making this one rapid, good handling motorcycle.
Date published: 2019-04-29
Rated 4 out of 5 by from My first Indian Demo The Scout Demo model lacked the full windscreen that I favor, so I was re-introduced to the displeasure of riding with excessive wind interference. However, the handling and acceleration were excellent. I appreciated the low profile, since my legs are sort. However, I felt the overall profile was somewhat small, even for me.
Date published: 2019-04-28
Rated 4 out of 5 by from decent power Was pretty with the power and the suspension, these bikes look amazing!
Date published: 2019-04-28
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features and great looks I really enjoyed riding the Scout. The maneuverability was fantastic
Date published: 2019-04-25
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable & powerful I demo rode this bike. It had plenty of power & is quick & handles easily. It was nice to have an extra gear as I was comparing it to my Scout Sixty. Handling was the same.
Date published: 2019-04-23
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Bike! The Scout is lightweight, nimble, and powerful. Great bike for a smaller rider. My husband bought one and he loves it! I wish it had a larger gas tank and handlebars further back. I would pay more for an Interstate Scout with a windshield, saddlebags, floor boards, etc.

2022 Scout Bobber Black Metallic is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 659.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Bike I bought this bike 3 weeks ago and I absolutely love it. It's a great bike with tons of power and easy to ride. This is my first street bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking bike! I bought this bike a little over a month ago. I have a little under 600 miles so far. I had the Stage 1 airbox and shorty slip on mufflers installed at the dealer. Runs and sounds great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the bike Love the bike. Love the balance on it. The only negitive i have about it is the seat is horrible, even the comfort seat, and the rear shocks are in need of a majot improvement. Exhaust is also very quiet :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My own Scout Bobber 60 This motorcycle may have been the best purchase I've ever made. For a young, 5'6" female this fits me perfectly. As far as stock model goes, its gorgeous - the only issue I have is the way I lean for the handles (short arms), which I'm fixing with adding longer ones soon. The amount of power in this scout bobber 60 is perfect for both cruising and freeway riding, the handling is smooth, and I can get to around 130 miles before my gas light's on. This bike is also has its own personality with the way it stands out on the road, the blue slate paint is so subtle and yet so bold. I absolutely love my ride and the good name it stands behind, Indian.

Date published: 2021-03-16
Rated 4 out of 5 by from great bike-just needs a better exhaust Purchased this bike because it wasn't like all the other American-made bikes it had a distinct look and appeal. The one gripe I had was that the exhaust didn't fit the look, it was huge, ugly, and made it sound like a moped. Highly recommend if you get this bike to throw a good exhaust that will make it sound like it looks.
Date published: 2021-03-15
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I bought it on January and am in love with it will be riding it a long time
Date published: 2021-03-13
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Estheticly pleasing I love the way this bike looks and I bought it in January so no test ride. So, it doesn’t really fit me all that well. The slippery seat is rock hard and the foot controls are too far away. Those two things said, both of which, I have made modifications for, I love the bike and hope to ride often. It is a 75th birthday present to myself!
Date published: 2021-03-13
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bobber Review I purchased the bike in Jan. 2021. I love the bike, the looks, the ride, and the power. This bike rides great and looks great. The only thing that I don't like is the sound. The mufflers are too quite. They should be louder. Loup pipes save lives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bike and an even better Engine! The Indian Bobber is a great looking bike with an even better engine. It handles well and is very balanced on the road. You can take it our very a relaxing cruise or you can pull back on the throttle for a very exciting ride!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No bike is perfect, but this bike comes close I bought this bike a month ago. This is my 4th year riding, and my 4th motorcycle. Just today I finished the break-in period. I can honestly say I love this bike just as much as the day I picked it up. I think she’ll stay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome This bike is smooth and such an awesome ride. I have nothing but complaints for this bike.
Date published: 2020-11-27
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike and easy to personalize I purchased the bike on October 2020. I added few modifications to suit my needs. I found the handle bars, as they come a little too far forward and close together. I modified them to the extended reach handlebars option from Indian, this allows me to sit more upright with more relaxed sensitivity to the steering at low speeds and counter-steering in the bends of the road. I add the LED lights for improved visibility and highway bars for safety. It looks pretty sweet with the additions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scout bobber twenty Rides very nice. Handles great. Think I will go stage one if it’s not too noisy. People approach me and state how nice my bike is. This is unsolicited and in my kit I’m somewhat intimidating. In one month I’ve had 12-16 people telling me how much they like it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great bike but should have better suspension Traded in a sport bike for my 2020 scout bobber twenty because of back problems and the Indians are great couple of performance mods E&O intake and freedom performance exhaust plus a power commander on mine rides very smooth. In my opinion for 14k an air ride suspension which is 1200$ upgrade should be standard on all cruisers but to each their own fantastic bike ergonomically feels great to ride. Also is a bobber style so there is basically no technology on it not even a gas gauge which is whatever but again for a high price there’s other bikes out there that are a lot more cost effective

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Know you will want to immediately mod I bought a little over a month ago. There are a few things you will want to do immediately after buying the bike. First, replace the seat. Indian sells a comfort seat that they really should have made the stock seat, because the stock seat is not good if you ride more then 30 minutes. Second, change the exhaust. The pipes make no more noise then a sewing machine and that is irritating. Luckily, you can do this easily with slip on exhaust options. Third. You want to change the shocks. If you don't like being jolted about for the tiniest bumps change the shocks. After those 3 things, I do love my Indian scout bobber, even after the terrible sales experience I had where I went.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing ride I have had mine for 6 months and absolutely love it, my only wish is that I had known that the Chieftain Dark Horse would be coming out.
Date published: 2016-05-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Added 2nd Indian to my stable!! Purchased my 2nd Indian motorcycle (2016 Darkhorse) about a year and a half after my first. (2015 Chieftain) Both bikes are excellent. My wife and I use the Chieftain for two up riding and touring primarily. We added the tour pack, heated seats, etc... I use the new Darkhorse when I ride solo. Totally different feel and look. Love the lighter weight and different rake. Added the ape handlebars, performance air filter and cams. The Darkhorse just roars and rips across the miles. Love everything about this bike!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from it's all I have wanted and expected in a sled I am extremely happy with it. I am some what disappointed in the price of the clothing apparel. I would love to add new exhaust and bags but the price is to far out of my finances. It has as much power that could ever be needed. Also The guys and girls at Elkhart Indian are the best. They have taken such good care of all my needs and that was very important in helping me with my decision before buying my Dark Horse. I spoke with Chris before purchasing the bike and he gave me all the answers that were of great importance too me. I thought of buying a Harley but the Indian was by far the best choice for me. Looks, were first in my decision. It just has the best look and style that is by far better than any Harley!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful motorcycle I have owned a lot of motorcycles, of all brands and this is by far the best all around motorcycle I have ever owned... Very powerful , very nimble handling, awesome style...completely happy with this purchase!
Date published: 2016-05-13
Rated 5 out of 5 by from At long last... I have wanting an Indian Chief since seeing an early '50s model a friend owned back in the seventies. The Gilroy version came and went, the Kings Mountain version was too expensive. Now the latest (and I think greatest!) version has come around. I came to a point in life that I can afford one and no-one can tell me I can't have one. I know they are marketing the Dark Horse at a younger demographic, but at 60, I still feel young enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my Dark Horse! This bike has all the features that I wanted and more. It's beautiful, has a very smooth ride, has tons of power, and I get looks of envy and approval from everyone that sees it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Impressive I got my Dark Horse last fall and will say that she never seems to disappoint me. After the 500 mile servicing I took her for a two day 1,000 mile ride to the Ozark's Mountains to see how well she took the curves. I find myself not only satisfied with the handling but so far she is a dream come true. The cornering on this bike is every thing a motorcycle should be. After riding Harley for decades I find this motorcycle is not only easier to handle but a lot more enjoyable to ride.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2016 Dark Horse I bought an Indian Chief Dark Horse about 6 weeks ago and love the bike so far. I am a previous owner of a 2008 Harley Heritage Softail and a 2002 Harley Dyna Low Rider. Trying to compare these bikes is apples to oranges, particularly given the amount of time between purchases. I still love Harley's, but was looking for something different since it seems like no matter what model Harley you have, you will see tons of them everywhere you go. So far I've only had 1 issue, which apparently has happened to others, the bike stopped registering the key fob so it won't start without using the code. I have to take the bike to the dealer to get it corrected. Won't cost me anything but time and gas to get there, but still an inconvenience and hopefully not a recurring issue. The bike rides great, is comfortable, feels light on the road, has plenty of torque, sounds great (with the Freedom exhaust), and corners nicely. So far I've logged about 1500 miles with no complaints other than some overall fit and finish, which are really just a personal opinion. A couple examples is for a blacked out bike, I don't understand why they used so many chrome bolts and nuts vice black once. I know they are proud, but it has the Indian badge on just about everything...way too much. I know they wanted to shed some weight, but should've kept the oil cooler as the engine does run hot. All in all this thing is a beast, looks great, and I plan to keep it for a long time provided it holds up. I only say that because Indian is recently resurgent so only time will tell what the quality will be long-term.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from dark horse rules the road I bought this bike 3 months ago after trading in my 2015 Harley Dyna. There is no comparison. The DH is far superior to anything Harley offered. I test rode to new Softail Slim to be fair. Not even close. This bike handles so well. Its balanced and smooth. Will never ride anything but an Indian again. Good Job Polaris!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Ride My Dark Horse has been great except for one issue. Prior to heading to get my 500 mile oil change, my fork lock key wouldn't turn all the way to lock. On my way to the dealer, the fork lock locked. Lucky for me I was at a low speed. I stopped and brute forced the handle bar to turn. Got it to true dealer. The sales rep, Brian, took a look at it and it locked up on him. He had the mechanic look at the lock and discovered an extra screw in the lock assembly. They removed it and assure me it wouldn't lock up again. They guys have been great, but a promise doesn't put my mind at ease. Jay Mandziuk

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Polaris Industries does it again! I purchased this bike a few weeks ago, i had a 2007 Victory Vegas before. I loved the Vegas, the Dark Horse just takes those feelings and adds more. This is my first bagger and I don't see myself ever changing from a Polaris motorcycle or from a bagger. Awesome styling, phenomenal engine in the Thunder Stroke 111, this is the first bike I've ever heard that I'd consider leaving the stock exhaust on. I hope to have this bike for a very long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic style with great performance I bought this bike back in December and have been very happy with it. It is a bigger bike than I have ridden before which has taken a little time to get used to its handling. Overall, I am impressed with the bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from versatility. After learning to ride on the Scout Sixty for six months the Springfield had the best handing specs for urban commutes of 16 miles round trip. The Scout perform almost perfect, but the Springfield showed road commanding handling at all speeds and weather conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted. Bought in April, coming up on 10k miles. Commute everyday 50+ miles, both freeway and surface streets plus monthly group rides, errands around town, rain or shine. The bike never disappoints in it's handling ,comfort and power. Stock model came just as I wanted for my next bike. Quality is outstanding. Its the bike I've always wanted to have. And it's an Indian!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from SpringField Engine needs gerotor replaced. It causes sumping which in turn causes clacking sound similar to a Diesel engine sound. This is unsatisfactory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bike So early last Spring the editor of a popular motorcycle magazine wrote a little piece praising the Indian line and showing off the new Springfield. As I respect this fellow's opinion I went to the local Indian dealer and took one out for a test ride. I was hooked. The ride, the handling the over all look of the bike had me hooked from the start. I went through the year riding my extremely fast Softail then in October I pulled the trigger and bought the red Springfield. I had the dealer make the necessary modifications; new headers and mufflers, air cleaner and cams. Okay the Springfield isn't as fast as my Softail was but I'm good with that, it's so much better of a ride than any Harley I've ever owned or ridden. Now to see how fast I can get to 60,000 miles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Ride I've had my Springfield about 7 months or so. I've put nearly 6000 miles on it. I had it upgraded to Stage-2 with Rush pipes before taking delivery at Indian Motorcycle of Lafayette". This is my second Indian, as I also had a 2014 Chieftain. The seat on the Springfield could be improved. I like the looks of the seat, but my butt bothers me after about 100 miles. I am forced to put my Corbin (I bought it for my Chieftain) seat on it for long rides. The stock air-cleaner is ugly, and to big. That's one of the reasons I decided to spend a fortune to upgrade. The Stage-1 air-cleaner is smaller, and being smaller it lets more air get to my legs for a cooler summer ride.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Riding Like I was a kid again!!! Once I test rode a Springfield (which is the first Indian I've ever ridden) I was sold. I'm 65 and have been riding since I was 14. The comfort, ease of handling, power and responsiveness did it. I was sold. Being only 5'5" being flat footed and balanced were a must as was the handling with a passenger on board. My wife rides her own but on rare occasions, she is my passenger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Middle weight Touring at it's best Had a 2014 Vintage, traded for my 2016 Springfield June 2016. Loving it still at 8,250 miles. Very light and nimble but has the large lockable saddlebags and cruise control of the touring models. It's a pleasure to ride in town or on the open highway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A most beautiful bike I've been riding motorcycles for over 40 years. I've always had to settle for a bike that was not quite what I wanted, but that I could afford. Well, this time I bought exactly what I wanted. The Indian Springfield hit every single check-box for me, from the removable windscreen to the relaxed cruiser styling. I compared the bike to similar bikes from other brands, and while others had good qualities, the Indian was clearly better in each and every category. I've owned the bike now for six weeks or so, and even though we're at the end of Fall and closing in on Winter, I still take every opportunity to pull the bike out of the garage and ride it. I get compliments everywhere I go. She's a beautiful bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spring is to far away!! I had to put my Indian in Storage and now have to wait 5 months until I see her again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bike, EVER! Okay so out of curiosity last Spring I test rode a Springfield and loved it! Now I'm not made of money and I've been riding my 98 Softail for a long time and really like it. Come fall and I stopped in at the Indian dealer again and there on the floor sits a red 2016 Springfield all shiny and pretty. I could no longer resist. I went home that night and sold my Harley to my son and bought the Springfield. Indian, you have your stuff together with this bike. Handles and rides better than any Harley I've ever owned, ever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my bike. I have owned almost every model of Harley. Touring bikes, Softails, V-Rods, everything but a Sportster. I grew up on Harleys (even on the back of one as a kid) and it was a tough choice to break tradition. Ultimately I did make the switch due to a simple fact. It's a better bike. It's more powerful and smoother than a Milwaukee Eight bike, feels very well put together and is more fun to ride. It's also a much better looking bike than a Road King. I go to bike night and I might see one other Indian, but that's it.

Chieftain
Desde $22,499 Precio de venta sugerido por el fabricante en EE. UU.
2022 Chieftain Black Metallic is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 671.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed So I did try, did three test rides. Where to begin, too retro, a weak power plant, more plastic on this than I expected. Awkward handling and sluggish response. Did some research, this thing is going to spend about as much time as a Harley in the shop for service. I was surprised, considering this was born out of the Victory. Do yourself a favor and talk to some of the aftermarket Victory shops, who also work on the Indian, what I got was, not the same quality as Victory, and you will want to invest some cash to improve performance in addition to stripping off some excess materials. I really wanted to try this bike, had the cash, but just had a weird feeling, so did the due diligence and I was very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All you could want and MORE! I traded my 16 indian chieftain for the new 17 rider command cheiftains. For me, it combines all the great features of the previous models with the competitive electronics package that rival any bike on the road. You can customize it to your liking and never have to worry about getting confused as to which bike is yours in the parking lots (sorry, couldn't help myself from taking a small shot at HD).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indian Chieftain owned by an Indain I waited for the first dealership to open in San Diego, because after watching the Documentary file on the building of the new engine I decided then i wanted one of these. I have been a motorcycle rider since 1965. And bought my first Harley, a 1980FLT, in 1984 and retired it in 2011 or so. I went to the Opening of San Diego Indian Motorcycles on Jan. 11 2014 and looked at all the models they had and was drawn to the Chieftain. I told the Service Manager that I would come back the next day they were open and pay for the bike. He asked if I wanted to test drive it and I said no. I returned the 14th and purchased the 2014 Chieftain they had. I have really enjoyed this bike and the ride. It is the by far the smoothest and quickest bike I have ever had. I can even keep up with speedsters in our group if I need to. I love the look of the bike, from front and back closed fenders to fairing with adjustable windshield(the greatest feature). I had a 91 flt harley thinking I would trade off riding both bikes but the first year the harley moved twice to go to work 5 miles away. lol So i sold it. This is probably the last bike I own, until I need a trike. Thanx Indian Motorcycles

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bike I purchase a 2014 Indian Red. After 42,000 miles I think I can say it is a very reliable bike. I've logged thousands of highway miles, still have stock speakers, and can hear it clearly at highway speeds. The engine noise is no more than one should expect from an over head valve engine. The engine does put off heat but no more than any other air cooled v-twin I've ridden. I'd have to say the Chieftain is the most comfortable bike I've ridden. It handles great, corners like a sport bike, can make a tight slow turn and move through heavy traffic effortlessly. I've been riding for 40 years, with 11 as a MC officer on Indians biggest rival. I've owned numerous bikes. Great job, fantastic design.
Date published: 2017-03-23
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Long range comfort I've had my Chieftain 3 years and 15,000 miles. It's outstanding features are comfort and torque. The suspension is compliant and all day comfortable. The windshield is adjustable for all conditions. There is much less shifting due to the monster torque in the 111 cubic inch motor.. maintainance is kept to a minimum with the hydraulic valves and drive belt system. All in all I am pleased with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Ride Purchased this bike in December, and wasn't able to ride it until yesterday, February 26. I had not test ridden this particular bike, as a lowered version was not available. After much worry that I had jumped the gun, I was elated that this bike was such a joy to ride. Several modifications had been done prior to my purchase, and then we added a few more to the list. I love the Chieftain, and the white smoke paint with the red seat is stunning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like the navigation and stereo I bought it right before winter so I didn't ride it much yet. Looking forward to the spring to get it out. I fell in love with the color the first time I saw it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love My Chieftain Owned for almost 2 months, 1200 miles. Love this bike more each time I ride it. Two reason I gave a 4 star vs. 5 star rating: 1) The seat is beautiful, but at 6'1" it sits me too far forward. I was constantly having to sit on the back of the seat, so ended up having to buy an aftermarket seat. Disappointing after spending this much money on a new bike that I had to take this beautiful seat off and have it just sitting in storage. 2) The right side cover for the fog light on the inside of the fairing blew off while riding and was lost. Dealership covered it under warranty, and said they had this happen on several others. The part is on undetermined back-order which indicates this is happening a lot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Speechless and in Love I have been holding off on buying a new motorcycle for several reasons, but one of them was because I didn't want to be one of those Harley "Mee Toos" (aka sheep). Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good ride Bought 3 years ago and have ridden 48K. Runs great and handles long trips beautifully. Illicit's lots of comments and conversations. Would be better if it had a Nav system that could accept routes and chained waypoints. New 2017 screen looks nice but was not thought out. Even cheap add ons will do that. Sirius would be nice! I was planning on upgrading in 2017 but there is nothing new worth the cost. Depreciation and lack of new features???? Paint options are another area that needs work. Color options are lacking and unattractive. Not enough choices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome motorcycle! I am glad that I chose to buy the Indian Cheiftain motorcycle fully loaded and decorated with all of the crome options that I could put on it, including the removable trunk option. Outstanding motorcycle, has a lot of power and more in reserve, it will easily pull a hole shot and ride a wheely of the lights, and rixe away from from most anything on the road, only an HD screaming has any chance of keeping up with it, until you turn the throttle a little more and unleash the other 15% horsepower in reserve, with the performance package installed from the factory. Absolutely beautiful ane stunning looking bike, it catches everyones eye. Love the blend of modern and retro looks, rides and handles very well, very well designed, love the quick attach and detach features of the saddle bag and trunk options. Indian has done a great job of nailing it in the design if the new line if bikes. Always loved the HD's, but glad I bought the Indian!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from outstanding motorcycle I have owned two Chieftains a 14 and now a 15. This is one of the smoothest bikes that I have owned and the counterbalanced engine was what sold me on the motorcycle. I put an average of 13000 miles on my bikes annually so a bagger is the stile that I wanted. I only have two request, a larger gas tank and wider side bags.

Well when I got the oil serviced I noticed there was a leak and it's caused my pipes to rust up. Also the back cover to one of my fog lights just flew off while riding. The engine gets hot, crazy hot. Would I buy again? Never

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ride and easy sign up I did a demo ride at the Loudon International Speedway during bike week. The sign up and ride process was so much easier than other vendors there. The bike I rode was Chieftain Dark Horse. I was impressed with the look and blown away by the ride; easy handling and great power.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable, great features Thank you Owens allowing demo rides I never would of thought I would be a motorcycle girl but after One of their team (Dylan) took me on a ride now here I am thinking we need one!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice bike, too expensive, not very good demo guy First, the demo van wasn't what I was told it would be. I wanted to test ride a Springfield and the dealer wouldn't prep one. Told me to wait for the demo van, which would have every model to ride. When I went they didn't have any Springfields to ride. The guy was kind of rude and said if you want to ride a Chieftain, it's the same thing. I don't know, the big fairing and all the gadgets wasn't the experience I wanted. Also, the bike was fully optioned out at $34,400. Overall, very comfortable ride with a ton of power with the 116. Great maneuverability, but the throttle seemed sloppy. About 1/8th turn of play before it would accelerate. He didn't explain tour mode vs standard vs sport before the ride. I was in tour mode, but would have preferred standard or sport if I had known.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Incredibly well balanced I rode the 116 and it was an incredibly well balanced ride. VERY smooth and comfortable! My only criticism was the head buffeting at faster speeds. There didnt seem to be a good place to put it to stop although all the way up helped

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The new look is great on the 2019. Fairing I test road the 2019 Chieftain Dark Horse 116 was a nice ride. Very quick response from the throttle and nice and smooth ride. Great features such as automatic lock for saddle bags, radio, and screen was easy to see and operate. The look is the best part really like the new look of the fairing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Clunky I felt the tranny was a little clunky and I was disappointed with the high handle bars. I thought I would like them more but instead they were just a little uncomfortable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rides great. Handles great. Easy to maneuver. Right from the start the bike was easy to upright and felt surprisingly light for a bike of this size. I’m 5’-8” tall and had trouble reaching the kickstand. I think there should be an extension on the kickstand or one available for purchase. The other issue I had was the floor boards were a little too far forward for someone of my size as well. The directional switch was hard to get used to after riding HD for so long. I’m sure I’d get used to it but it’s handier to have a switch on each side. I think that would save a lot of confusion for long time HD riders. I ride a 2015 HD FLHTKL Ultra Limited Low. The reason I ride what I ride is simple. I wanted a tour bike and was able to put a leg over FLHTKL and upright it with ease. When I took the bike for a ride everything fit. From the extended kickstand to the controls to the seat height and width. The Dark Horse did most of that. But it lacked in the kickstand and controls. Beyond that, the Dark horse rides and handles exceptionally well for a bike it’s size. The infotainment system obviously wasn’t familiar but the little I used it on the ride made me feel like it’s way better than the HD infotainment on my bike. Which has been, and continues to be a problem. HD doesn’t seem to want to help much with this at all. I apologized for the mention of the bike I’m riding now but I think I needed to for the review. Indian...... your definitely on the right path. Great bike, it needs some tweaking for smaller riders. The crew you had at the Americade in Lake George NY was second to none! Courteous, kind and most of all caring.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great power very comfortable I took a test ride yesterday and I was very impressed with the power styling handling etc it had a nice seat great sound, engine pipes.. I did not turn on the stereo, Ide rather hear the bike.. and fantastic pick up, smooth breaks, the only thing I could find that may have needed improvement was the wind buffeting around the head, I couldn't seem to find the right position.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Updated Ride Took a demo ride yesterday at Indian KC. I currently own a 17 Roadmaster. Wanted to ride a 116 to see what’s up. Was put on a 19 Chieftain Darkhorse. First impressions: 1) Took me a few minutes to acquaint myself with the updated controls. Think most of the changes are good. 2) If money was not an issue, I’d have my on the lift at the dealer right now to do the big bore kit. The 116 is ON POINT. And finally, 3) Not a huge fan of the new look faring but am sure it will grow on me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely loved it. It’s a heavy bike that handles like a light bike. Love it. Just got to convince the wife why I need a second bike. Lots power, easy to maneuver and has some serious kick butt, built in accessories. GPS, radio etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME The Chieftan 116 has so much power it took by surprise. It was easy to manuever, and nimble. The controls, screen, and seat need no refinement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chieftain dark horse 116 FUN FUN FUN Before the demo ride i had owned a 2017 chieftain with stage 2 cams and let me tell yo that if you were thinking stage 2 it is so worth a little more for the 116..If I can get a good number on my bmw I will own another chieftain as the ride and handling is top notch!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good performance. I ride a 2015 vintage and have been thinking about a “big bore” kit. The Dark Horse Chieftain with the 117 engine confirmed my decision on the upgrade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 116 white Have been wanting to ride the 116. Rode it and loved it. Nice response all around. Enjoyed sitting low in the seat as it made me feel part of it, not just on it. My only dislike is that I felt I was sitting to close to the handle bars. Didn't like that at all. Perhaps there is a option for the seat to sit further back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Indian Chieftain Darkhorse ride and drive I attended the test ride day at the local Indian dealership. Was very impressed with the chieftain dark horse except for the mini ape handlebars. Other than that it’s a great motorcycle.

2022 Roadmaster Black Metallic is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 1363.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some good some bad The gps mapping feature is terrible, seems like old tech. I am still wondering why both mirrors are the 'objects are closer than they appear" type, I find this a bit frustrating. The seat is just ok, I would think a high end bike would have the newest tech and be very comfortable to ride, All that being said this is still a very nice ride! Get lots of compliments on the looks, and it is a beauty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it I bought this bike two months ago and am currently very happy with it. I got back into riding 2 years ago after 38 years off motorcycles. Before buying this bike I went through 2 Harleys (2010 Heritage Classic and 2016 Road Glide Ultra) before buying the Roadmaster. I wanted an Indian from the very first but settled for the Harleys. After being away from riding for so long I wanted to buy used initially but couldn’t find what I wanted in the used motorcycle market so I settled on the Heritage and after a while upgraded to the Road Glide. I never was satisfied with the Harleys. They were both good bikes, they just weren’t what I wanted. I finally “bit the bullet” and put down the money for a new bike and got what I wanted all along (Indian Roadmaster). I’m so happy that I did. The styling is unsurpassed while the ride is significantly better than either of the Harleys. Additionally, the Roadmaster is comparable in size and weight to the Road Glide but it has the feel getting off the stand and at low speed more like the Heritage (a 200 lb lighter bike). At highway speed it’s more comparable to the Road Glide but with significantly better rear suspension. My kidneys can really tell the difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Some nice motorcycle compared to Harley This is my first Indian. Have previously had 20 new Harley Davidsons since 1993. The last three were CVO Ultras. The Indian rides better, handles better, and has more items standard then the Harley Ultra Limited. If you are looking to purchase a new motorcycle don’t overlook the Indian. Ride one and you will be impressed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement for my 2017 RM Much improved over my 2017 that I loved until I totalled it in a MVA in Texas. 116 motor with rear cyl. cutoff is excellent. The 111 ran way too hot. The new display features are great for my old eyes. Though the electronics boots up slow. Display is much clearer and cleaner looking. One thing I miss is the MPG reading which was on the 17. Bring it back. The drive modes, I guess, are good for the trick electronics focused kids. Not a plus for me. The GPS is also updated with weather/traffic layers that are handy. But will you please, please, please add the roadways MPH which Google/Waze and Harleys have!!! Another change made that I would like returned are the spring pin system for side bag removal. You now have to remove allan key screws. Not a deal breaker, but not as convenient. Beside a few listed items, the bike has been good. Only have a couple thousand miles on this new one so far. I average 15k+ miles a year, so time will tell how dependable it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The complete package The 2019 Roadmaster comes with all the "necessities" of a full time rider. The derby, breather and all covers coming with signature Indian signatures or headdress, the chromed out switch covers, interface on the display screen, the features usually added cost came standard on the Roadmaster. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic motorcycle! I bought this bike for a 10 day road trip planned with friends for June 2020. We all know how that has turned out. This is the 4th Indian motorcycle I have owned. This being the 2nd Roadmaster. I have owned 3 other Indians, all being of the 111cc or the 116cc family. I have no complaints with any of them. They all have been wonderful bikes to own and ride. This bike has the perfect suspension! The ride is what I would describe as a "magic carpet". Rough surface roads are gobbled up effortlessly. Fuel mileage is steady between 45 and 49 MPG. Performance is outstanding for a bike of this size and weight. The bike draws looks and comments every place I go. Truly distinctly designed to ride into the future and protect it's past.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Roadmaster The Roadmaster replaced a Victory Vision, which I loved, but wanted newer features. The handling and power are excellent - both improvements - and the technology package is amazing. I didn't think the keyless feature would be a big deal, but now I love it.
Date published: 2020-05-10
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top notch touring ride This is my 2nd Roadmaster. The first was a 2017 model I bought used with 18K on it. I put another 47K on it before a unexpected encounter with a deer totaled it. So I know what I was getting. My 2019 is a pleasant surprise with a notable increase in responsivness. I like the 3 selectible riding modes. It turns heads everywhere it goes. I couldn't be happier with it.
Date published: 2020-05-07
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the Look - Miss the Classic Fairing This is my 4th Roadmaster. I love the aggressive modern look of this model, but after riding it daily for a few months I am missing the wind protection that I was accustomed to with the classic fairing. To be specific it's not wind over the fairing but under, coming by the tank and hitting me underneath my helmet. No combination of lower vent positions change this. I now am wearing goggles and thinking about a full face helmet. I love these bikes, but am having some buyers remorse to the point that I am thinking about trading out of it after just a few months. A few other let downs were: I had to buy the passenger pegs, and luggage rack as these were not included in stock like the other Roadmaster. Also the new style bags don't seem as solid as the previous ones. Everything else aside I like the aggressive look, and the 116 power is very nice!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big fat luxury. This is one magnificent bike. Everything about this bike from the pipes to the infotainment system is really dialed in. I have one gripe. This thing should come with the rider’s back rest. It completely transforms the bike. I can see 20k miles/year going on this bike easy with the addition of the backrest.
