Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful and Balanced I love everything about this motorcycle and the Indian brand itself. I’m a first time rider who was initially looking at the scout. But as a person who wants to put miles in and travel on the bike I decided on the bagger. In comparison to all other competitors, Indian has a more family kind of community. The bikes are very well built, powerful, smooth and grab on to the road very well. Only issue was that after I took it out of the dealer I noticed a hairline crack on the crank casing. Waiting to hear back to see if it’s ok or needs to be replaced. But as for the bike itself, best decision and can’t wait to explore the US.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2021 Chietain DH in Icon Stealth Gray My first bagger and very happy with the purchase overall. This bike has better balance and suspension than a HD SGS. The HD SGS does have a more progressive and linear throttle. The Indian can be learned, but has a dead spot off idle due to being electronic. The two areas I have had some issue with are 1) Apple carplay seems to disconnect continually to the point it's nearly useless - It's my hope dealer can fix this at first 500 mile service. 2) I have a pretty minor windshield frame rattle that shows up over large bumps and railroad tracks. Hopefully something just needs to be tightened or isolated. Overall, I'm enjoying the amazing color, smooth power and ride quality. I've lost count in my 400 miles how many thumbs up I've gotten from other drivers and people gauking in parking lots or asking questions at gas stations. Definitely grabs attention.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Touring Bike! Purchased my 2019 Chieftain Limited in Dec 2019. Have ridden over 37,000 miles. Only shortfalls have been tires (came with Dunlop Elite 3) placed with CruzTech and handling on dry and wet roads are much better. Also, had a few issues with Gear shift censor, replaced by dealer and all good now. Bike is extreamly comfortable on long rides. Have taken several 5000-700 mile rides out west and the bike handled perfectly through mountain roads, rain and cold/hot temps. Highly recoment the Chieftain to all serious long distance riders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ride I replaced my Victory Cross Country with the 2021 Chieftain. I was surprised to find that it actually rides and handles better than the Cross Country. A thing to note is that the Chieftain is NOT for taller riders. I am 5'8" and the leg is almost too short.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike I bought the bike about a month ago and have put approximately 1,700 miles on it. Overall I love the bike, there are a few things that I don't care for, like not being able to start the bike in first gear even with the clutch in; or the bike turning off/not starting if the kick stand is down. I understand these safety features, but I don't care for them, especially the not being able to start the bike in gear. Overall I love the bike!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Tier Motorcycle I've owned 5 motorcycles. This is the only motorcycle that I wanted from the beginning and I knew that I had to have one. I have never seen craftmanship like Indian before. The details from the engine to the paint is mind blowing. I'm proud to say that I own a piece of history.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovin this ride! I am impressed with the ride, and the stock power is great in the 116. The ride ergos could be better. Seat is comfortable for the first 150-200 miles, could use a bit more reach on the handlebars. OEM accessories are a bit hard to come by. Overall, small things don’t stop me from from loving this ride. My biggest disappointment is probably finding out Indian doesn’t include the trip GPS, or “Indian Ride Command” on the base Chieftain. $500 upgrade + approx. $300-400 install. That just seems rude after paying $22k for a motorcycle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Time Rider As a new motorcycle enthusiast, I jumped right in with both feet. I bought a 2020 Chieftain (116) and couldn't be happier. It is powerful, comfortable, and has all the features I need. I'm a big music guy so I love being able to listen to my favorite tunes while riding. Overall, extremely happy that I took the plunge and joined the Indian family!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Fun Love this Baby! Handles perfectly. I switched brands from a well know established brand. So fare I can say I won’t be returning to the old Iron. The balance and engineering is impressive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 2nd Indian is even better than my first! I've had a 2015 Vintage since late 2015. Absolutely loved the bike and rec'd many compliments. But after test driving the 2021 Chieftain it was an easy decision to upgrade. The shorter wheelbase, improved handling, better seat, ride command and advanced electronics make for an amazing riding experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bike For ME!!! I waited over 20 years to get my bike. I was convinced I was going to buy a HD Street Glide. A friend told me to check out the Indian before I made the purchase. I walked in and my Baby was sitting in the middle if the showroom floor. It had the Stage 1 and Stage 2, LED headlamps and rear shifter installed. I talked to the family and bought it the next day. It was the best experience you could’ve imagined for the purchase of your first bike. I am on it every chance I can get. Everywhere I go someone stops and looks at the bike. They all think its a SG until they see the Indian and they can’t stop smiling or asking questions. Indian makes beautiful, fun to ride machines that handle like sport bikes. If you want to stand out in a crowd, BUY AN INDIAN!!!! It will be the best decision you can make and you will not second guess yourself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chieftain Stoped by the Indian dealer just to browse on the way to the HD dealership. Found a left over 20 Chieftain and went for a test ride. Absolutely loved it! I had already test rode the HDs and found this to be a better handling and balanced bike. The price compared to the options that came with it, made this a no brainer to me. Bought the Chieftain and haven’t looked back at all. Several of my friends are now looking to make the swap to the Indian line. The accessories are a little higher price wise, but they all seem to be high quality built to last. The dealership really made the deal also, very friendly and knowledgeable people there. Treated me like they wanted to help me find the perfect fit for me. The other brand made me feel like they were doing me a favor by talking to me. All around a great experience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What a way to down size Took one for a test drive, came in and said to find me one. Does nothing but pull threw all the gears. Great ride. So much lower than last ride. Feel much safer on it. Plain and simple. Got few things to add on. But loving it so far. Why only 4 stars, Only God and family get 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome indian I traded my scout in on my Chieftain. It wasn't an easy decision because I loved my scout. But with the bags and other features was the reason for my decision. And it was a great decision. Rides so smooth and sounds amazing. I love it. Nothing better then wind therapy with my Chieftain. Thank you indian.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first new motorcycle I bought this 2021 Indian Chieftain in February 2021. I just put 500 miles on it. This motorcycle has plenty of power and torque. Lots of extras. Radio, cruise control, adjustable windshield, I was looking at a HD before I bought this Chieftain. Harley dealer wanted to sell me a lower end street glide with no extras for $4000 more. I am so glad I ended up with this motorcycle. Best decision ever.
