Remove the side panels to access seat mounting fasteners and the electrical connections to the saddlebags.
To remove the upper left side panel:
1. Place a rag inside of the passenger foot peg to avoid damaging to the side panel as you remove it.
2. Using firm pressure, pull on the front and the rear of the side panel. Angle up and forward to remove. Once the panel has been removed, you have access to the tool kit, shock air fitting, fuse panel and diagnostic connector.
To remove the lower left side panel:
1. Remove the passenger foot peg with an M8 Allen wrench. When reinstalling the foot peg, align the dowel to the mount and torque to 35 ft-lbs.
2. Use an M6 Allen head to remove the three fasteners holding the side panel to the frame.
3. Remove the side panel. Note: The two accessory cover mount covers do NOT need to be removed. Once the panel has been removed, you have access to the swing arm pivot shaft.
To remove the upper right side panel:
1. Using firm pressure, pull the front and rear of the side panel free and remove. Once the panel has been removed, you have access to the connector for your saddle bag.
To remove the lower right side panel:
1. Disconnect the saddle bag.
2. Unlatch the lock and ride connectors on the saddle bag.
3. Lift the saddle bag away from the vehicle to remove.
4. Remove the passenger foot peg with an M8 Allen wrench.
5. Place a rag or shop towel over the exhaust to avoid damaging the side panel.
6. Lift the side panel off its mounts, pulling out and rearward to remove. When reinstalling the side cover, make sure each rubber grommet is properly positioned. Align each dart with the appropriate grommet and press inward firmly to secure each dart.
