fun to ride
It was a fun bike to ride. The riding position was a bit uncomfortable for me. Handlebars and foot pegs a bit futher out than I prefer. Plenty of power and go. Braking was excellent, turning radius was good and overall agility of bike was good. Speedo was easy to read, wish they would have put fuel gauge or fuel remaining in toggle information.

Can't beat the price and runs great
I got my driver's license right before going to demo day. This was the 1st bike I rode. For the day i ended up going on 7 rides. By the end of the day this was my favorite being a new rider. Already got one on reserve. The customer service at Indian Motorcycle Kansas City is the best. Thanks to Blake and his crew I will be buying a Scout60 October 15th.

If you want a bike, but don't want a large heavy one with fairings and all that stuff this is the bike for you. It has all the power that you will expect and then some. It has smooth power and handles very well.

Bone Stock shredder
I bought my th under black 60 just over a month ago. I've put 400 miles on it and love every minute. Low end torque is great when you need more go but dont want to down shift. Stock pipes are California chokers and quiet. My RCX slip ons are ordered.
This is the first bike I've ever bought. Never rode before (except quads). Easy to handle, responds great. Love the style, stance and performance.
Stock setup fits me really good. I'm 6'1" 230lbs. Pegs are out front with comfortable bend to the knees. Not crunched up but not stretched out. Stock bars are set good, long runs dont bother the arms at all. Grips are small but gloves help delay finger numbing. Like many others say, stock seat will get your butt numb after 45 minutes to an hour. But the seat holds you to the bike when you get her ripping through gears. You'd shoot off the back if not for that seat holding on to your rear.
My only dislikes are plastic. Cost wise to keep price point down I get it. Would like an option for a metal belt guard and metal controls like the chief.
This bike is a legend in it's own right.

My White 2016 Scout Sixty
I bought this White Scout Sixty last year around this time and it was the best investment I have ever made. I am 5' 11' so I purchased the extended seat and controls. The only downside is the seat don't buy the Indian seat it is uncomfortable after 1 hour, instead buy a mustang seat they are real comfortable. Other than that the bike performs great and the handling is excellent, I really do love this bike. It is not a girls bike I mean almost 1000cc and it goes fast and diffidently a mans bike. I also added the rear seat, back pad, saddlebags but bought a different windshield for it. Overall it was a great buy!

I’ve had my baby nearly a month and I look forward to riding this 2018 Scout Sixty every day, regardless of the weather conditions. It’s been nearly 15 years since I’ve ridden and I’m glad that I’ve had an opportunity to enjoy this well balanced, properly powered machine! This is absolutely the perfect motorcycle for any beginner, even my veteran riding friends enjoy this bike. You will too!

One Year Review
6000 miles, never a dull moment. Don't get fooled by the critical reviews, there are bound to be a few lemons. I had a bad tank sensor that was taken care of immediately. I ride my bike on dirt 2 tracks and let's just say, well past the recommended tire rating on occasion (with a couple grand to go before redline). Never have felt that I wasn't 100% in control. The low stance and fat tires make her a much better bike than her HD competition. It's nice to have a bike that few others have, she gets compliments everywhere she goes. Buy One.

Love My Scout Sixty
I have been riding for only a few years now. My previous bike was a Triumph Bonneville which I absolutely loved. However, the Bonneville's riding position was rough on my knees. I took advantage of an Indian financing deal and traded my Bonneville in for a Scout Sixty. My initial reaction was "Why didn't I go with the Scout Sixty to begin with?" The Scout Sixty is both powerful enough for my needs (commuting to and from work and casual weekend riding) and absolutely stunning to look at. But most importantly, I am thrilled to now be part of a rich motorcycle history. I never even considered a Harley or other brands. I love the fact that Indian is the first American motorcycle company yet continue to innovate and improve. I am proud to wear my Indian gear (there are way fewer of us on my company's parking lot, but the Indian numbers are definitely growing). At the end of the day, I am proud to be an Indian motorcycle rider. And the Scout Sixty is the perfect introduction to such a great product and rich history. I have a feeling my Scout Sixty will not be my last Indian.

Classic lines with modern technology
Almost two years and I'm so happy with my purchase. It had been almost 10 years since I had a motorcycle and I was not really looking to ride again. I wanted an American Made motorcycle with classic lines but also had a little bit of power. Harley was not making a bike for me and neither was Indian until the Scout debuted. It was what I imagined and I could not be happier. Suspension on my 2016 is not the greatest but I hear the new models are improved. The exposed wiring has faded but not a huge deal. Factory exhaust is almost mute but I'm sure that is a regulation issue. Add some after market slip ons and she sounds great. Not enough to lose a star.

You will not be disappointed in this bike. I’ve ridden mine little over 6k miles in the first year and absolutely love it. Just throw some after market slip-ons if you don’t want it to sound like a sewing machine.

Love this Bike
I bought the Scout sixty in July of 16. I now have 8500 + miles. I have been riding to close to 50 years and have loved many of the bikes I have owned but none more than my Scout. I have very bad knees so I wanted a liter bike , she fits the bill 100 %. Pick up, mileage, comfort all in one package. But as many have already posted the accessories are way over priced. My dealer was fantastic , great staff very cool owner.

Incredible machine
I bought this bike in March of this year and have put 600+ miles on it so far.
the bike fits me like putting on a glove. It is just one amazing machine. I could not be happier with the performance and looks of the bike.
I can not count the times that i have come out of a store to find that people are checking out the bike. It is a real eye catcher.
The high end torque is impressive to say the least. I like the ability to put around town under 3k rpms and still be able to hop on the highway and cruise comfortably with plenty of power to spare.
It's just one incredible machine.

Never thought I would own a cruiser !
I have had many different types and genres of motorcycles. Dirt, Adventure, Street, Dual purpose, Naked, Sport Touring etc. This is my first cruiser and I'm diggin' it. I can kick back and cruise or blast through the mountains. It handles pretty good in the twisties and high speed sweepers. Just went from Alices's Resturant to San Gregorio via Hiway 84 and high speed sweepers were a blast. The Scout holds a pretty good line at 80 on up in the big turns. Highly recommend aftermarket shocks for increased ground clearance and comfort. Got the Progressive 444 shocks, they give you about another inch of clearance. Now I'm not banging the foot pegs so much. I also have Moto Guzzi Griso and an African Twin. Another bike experience on my way to Valhalla.

Beautifully crafted Machine
This is my Second indian scout.
Eventhough the cons are still a a bug, all the pros’ take over. It is comfortable. Easy to maneuver in the city . Scouts love freeways, that is why i find it enjoyable to have long rides. The torque was something that surprised me from the beginning as it puts a smile on my face when i go to the fourth , fifth, sixth gear.
Solid machine. No plastic anywhere.
Sucks that there the closest dealer is 80 miles away but hopefully they expand once we,indian lovers, prove we all need a dealer in major cities or closer to them.
The fact that scouts here in the US dont have the steering lock system installed, makes it unsafe in sketchy areas as people can just roll them away. So im supposed to spend $600 (parts + labor) to have it installed. So that sucks really.
Overall it is my favorite baddest looking bike i’ve owned (Yamaha, suzuki, triumph, ducati) in my 18 year experience.

Well built machine
I have had my experiences with many motorcycles brands. I have some that I liked and some I didn’t care as much for. There are some bikes that in general I just do not like, solely based upon aesthetics. Usually they are loaded up with hard cases saddle bags, all while lugging around some speaker system, blaring Free Bird. It’s a style preference for me. With all that said, note, there is a bias person writing this review.
Things I like about my new 2021 Indian Scout bobber ABS
EVERYTHING
Everything I would do differently is available as an upgrade through the dealership. However I will say, I should atleast get the optional rear seat with the bike. Throw the dog a bone for god sakes. I know it’s not the company’s responsibility, however it would had made this bike so much better too have that sold with it

Great handling
Just put over 1,000 miles on my bike. Love every ride. The only complaint I can really have is the stock seat and the stock headlight. The seat is very uncomfortable for an hour or more ride and the headlight is better on dim than bright. Other than those the exhaust needs to be louder but that is expected. Bike handles great and has plenty of power for my commute.

The bike is great no complaints from me except that parts you order for extra are backorder and take months to get them. Shouldn't take as long as it does to make parts when the plant that makes them are at full capacity and full production.

Love it overall, but...
I fell in love with the aesthetics of this bike the first time I saw it. I was finally able to purchase one and I still love it, but the suspension could be better. Small dips and imperfections in the road and railroad tracks are pretty jarring on my back.
It is also a hot ride, literally. The heat from the exhaust is going to feel great this winter, but in the Florida, summer heat it is brutal when I’m sitting still. I’ve also burned myself a few times, bumping my leg on the exhaust, usually while backing up. I still love my bike and plan to keep piling on the miles, but if given an opportunity to make some tweaks, I’d definitely make a couple.

So much fun
I haven't had but one bike before this so I don't know if this review will be very helpful. Anyway, I love my Indian scout bobber. It's super fun on the expressway and to ride around town. It has plenty of power there when you need it but you can also just go for a chill ride on it. Plus it turns heads because everyone is used to seeing harleys so when they see this they're amazed at how nice it looks. Pretty good on bumps to me as well. Some people on the YouTube videos say they change the seat and shocks but honestly I don't feel a problem.

Excellent first bike for my wife!
After years of riding with me as a passenger, my wife was ready to learn to ride a motorcycle and chose this beautiful machine. It has been perfect! A fantastic machine to learn on that she will be happy to own for a long time. The bike is very agile with lots of power on a lightweight frame. She has been comfortable learning on this bike, which says a lot about how accessible they are and user friendly for first timers. She's absolutely in love with it.

Excellent Indian Bike
I went into Indian dealership around end of april just look around and zack one of the salemen came up to me and ask me what kind of bike I was looking for ? I happen to see the bike that I like and I ask what my credit score was like and how much ? And bought my Indian scout bobber and love riding it everywhere and it does have some serious horse power with a kick.

I've put 920miles on my 2021 scout bobber so far and loved every second of it. Plenty of power to haul my 315lb body down the road at 60mph, getting first service done in the morning 6/5/21, then I'm gonna see what this little beast can really do.

My best motorcycle yet!
Being a 65 female rider with 44 years of riding experience and a person who is very focused on quality and performance details I was blown away by this machine. What a gem! My other rides included a HD Sprint, KZ 200, Yamaha R6, Honda Nighthawk, HD iron, low rider, Fat boy, Rocker, Heritage Softail classic, Road King and Dyna Convertable.
The Bobber Twenty is a delight to ride. Such a playful machine. Transmission and clutch smooth as silk. Power band exactly where it I'd needed. I didn't think I would care for the mini apes or the low mirrors and to my amazement I love them both. The low mirrors stay out of the field of view, increasing forward visability making for a much safer ride. Just make sure you don't have long dangling sleeves that could block your line of sight to the mirrors. I added a Garmin Zumo XT to the bottom right handlebar and plug into the USB port incorporated into the speedo housing. What a genius set up. The seat is plenty comfortable for my 5'8" 130 pound body. Wouldn't change a thing. The suspension is set up at almost the softest setting giving me a responsive ride. My butt stays planted on the comfortable stock seat unless I'm trying to jump railroad tracks at high speed.
Thanks to the crew at Metro East Motor sports in O Fallon IL for hooking me up with this great machine. The smooth tank logo is another plus. Makes it a breeze to clean the thunder smoke paint with some Plexus Aerospace spray cleaner. Keeps the sheen just like the original factory finish. No anoying raised letters or logos to clean around. I also have the saddle bag on the right rear. Such a handy item for stowing small stuff afer a trip to the store. Time to get out and ride. Pick up one of these nimble machines. So much better than the other brands I had before.

I love with a piece of American History
My first real motorcycle. Just can't have enough of it. Love everything about it - the handling, low but aggressive stance, the styling and more than anything else the fact that it's an Indian and it's the Scout; Burt Munro's machine as he broke land speed records a century back.
The only thing I expected for the money I paid was a better seat and shocks. I sincerely hope Indian listens to all of us who own the Scout Bobber. The comfort seat has never been in stock since I got the motorcycle few months back.

Each bike is designed for a different riding style.I'm keeping this bike a clean naked bike. This is a perfect cruiser with a lot of power. I bought my Scout Bobber just over a month ago, all around it's great. Solid engine, quality bike. Motor is solid and reliable. Rides great, handles great too! The only two things I would tell Indian to improve on are the stock seat and stock rear shocks. Make those better out the gate and I would have put 5 stars!

I've owned 2 Hondas and 2 Harley's over the decades. This is my first Indian and it's my favorite bike - ever! Even compared to my previous bike, a 2013 CVO HD Street Glide, I like my Bobber better. Lots more fun!

Love my new dark horse
Love my new bike. Loved the overall cost. Only downfall was accessory prices. Bags, back seat, sissy bar, sissy bar back pad, passenger floorboards, highway bars front and rear. Already spent over 3k and haven't got to the engine yet. Cams, pipes, filter etc. it gets real expensive, real quick.

Be different
I fell in love with the idea in 2013 I believe when. First saw the new Indian on History channel with Mike Wolfe. Love and respect was all I could imagine.. I first rode an Indian vintage back during the summer. My dad's wife had just gotten it. She insisted I ride it, and a true love was born. FF a few months and I went to the dealer (on a Sunday, closed) to look at the victory Octane bc I never figured I could get a Indian. Well when I saw my dark horse through the window I was memorized. She spoke to me and I knew. I bought her on Oct 22 and rode her home that day. I have put 2,980 miles on her already. My I was riding a sport bike for 4 years before, and was happy to get back on a cruiser. And boy did I do it big. I love the feeling of riding a bike that is not just like everyone else's. Guys on Harleys ride up, and always compliment my dark horse. That is a win in my book!

I love how easily it handles. I had a 950 Yamaha V-star for years and this handles better and has more power without losing any of the versatility. I get a lot of complements about the design and the color. I put different pips on it though just to be heard it was quiet but so are most stock pipes.

Hands down the best bike I have ever been on.
Having owned a few other bikes(Non-Harleys) and having driven several Harleys since getting my Indian, I will always be an Indian man. The ride is smoother, the handling is better and when you're ready to ride, so is the bike.
If you want a bike to be recognized on, it's got that too. Put an Indian next to any other group of bikes, and see what one people want to look at.

Dark side of riding
I've had my Chief Dark Horse for 2 months. This is the best bike I have every owned (I have owned harley and honda.)! Maintenance won't kill your wallet, and neither will parts and accessories.
The comfort and ride of the bike has taken me 2 hours before a break. The big 111 Thunderstroke has a ton of power, regardless of what gear. Averaging 37.4 mpg solo, and 35 mpg with a passenger.
My only displeasure is the lack of aftermarket parts, but, in my opinion, that does not take away from the value, or the prestige of owning my Dark Horse.
-Live free and ride on!

Love it!
Bought at the beginning of September. Most comfortable motorcycle I've ever owned. It's maneuverable enough to get around in town with ease, and large enough to go for hours on the interstate and be comfortable while on the road. Effortless power from the Thunderstroke 111, even two up. With the stock exhaust, the sound is pretty subdued until you open the throttle. Then she'll bark plenty. Many people have asked why I didn't get a Harley Davidson. I tell them just take one demo ride and find out for yourself. Sure hope they do. I do wish that the accessories weren't so pricey but given the quality, it's hard to complain too loudly.

Indian Review
Over all the bike is exactly what I was hoping for and I am happy with it. It is well built and handles well. The only issues I have had so far is a noise which turned out to be a loose bolt. It was missing the seat bolts and there is a slight imperfection in the paint on the tank which I attached a picture. The transmission shifts a little hard but I assume it will break in.

Dream come true plus some
Never thought could afford an Indian which has been a dream bike since I was a kid. Loved the price which was cheaper then the Harley's I was looking at. Has a better ride nice and soft with plenty of power to get up and go. It especially is a head turner that gives off a big WOW feature when people see it. My first add on was the pathfinder lights, head lightbis good but wanted a wider spread of light. It also really enhanced the look of the bike. Would not trade this bike for any other except maybe 2017 chieftain with new touchscreen. lol! But seriously I love my bike and it already has its place in our family

I Love This Bike!
After several years of riding, I think I finally found the one I will keep for a while. I love this bike. The way the Dark Horse looks with the Indian style and the ride is so smooth and easy. Everywhere I go, It seems to draw attention and a lot of positive feedback.
I traded my Harley Fatboy Lo for this Dark Horse and I have never looked back.
The Dealership, Treasure Coast Indian ,in Hobe Sound was Great with everything and very helpful. Made me fell at home as most of their staff came from the local Harley Dealer.

I've had the Darkhorse for 3 months, love the balance can hard over steering locked, slow speed turns with my girl behind me. Love under turning the other big bikes. Open highway its a dream cruse control on. Mountain roads around Cherokee NC a lot of fun, working my way to scraping holes in each side floorboard pans outside corners. The Thunder Stroke loves the Mountain roads two up at 280 lb no problem. So far I'm enjoying the heck out of the bike.

Retro Modern Crusier
Great looking, comfortable with good fit and finish. Handles well for a big bike. The exhaust note (vans and hines) is amazing. The only downside is everyone stops you to ask questions. I liked the attention at first, but it gets old. It is a refined product with a distinct soul. The only options that I am considering are the pathfinder LED headlight, heated grips and seat. The accessories are pricey, but very high quality. If you are in the market for a cruiser, do not hesitate. Amazing bike.

I have now had my 2017 Springfield for 7 months. I have almost 10K miles on it and I am still thoroughly satisfied. In early June I did a 12 day, 3600 mile trip to New Hampshire and back. The bike performed flawlessly and averaged 46 MPG. The air adjust shock and comfortable saddle combined for long days with little fatigue. The honeymoon is definitely not over.

Been riding all my life, always said I’d never pay big bucks for a bike, till I saw a Springfield. Wife texted me a pic of it one day, from there it was sold. I’ve now had it for a year (2017) and have about 13k miles on it. Several out of state trips. For comfort added some highway pegs and an aftermarket stereo, other than that she’s stock. No complaints just praise for this machine.

So far, not so good.
Maybe I got the one in a million with a bad battery (hope it's just that) but this thing was dead a month after I got it, won't hold a charge and of course the warranty says I have to haul to the dealer, 3 hours from here to get it looked at...NOT a good start and a horrible warranty to boot. By the way it has 37 miles on it and not because I did not want to ride it more. Yes, I started it, at least every 3-4 days, ran it, and in the end, trickle charged it and after putting the seat and all the other junk back on 20 times to get to the battery, I'm ready to sell this thing and get an HD. THIS BATTERY SHOULD LAST 3-4 DAYS, PERIOD AND IT'S GARAGED, ALWAYS!

Springfield and History
Besides the history of Indian I Bought my Springfield (RED) in 2016 after test riding 9 different HD models/bikes.
It was a Day and Night comparison with the Harley models. Specifically the handling and smoothness of the Springfield. Not much adding needed on the model other than a stage 2 ( OMG what an awesome addition) and sissy bar with back rest. It is a Head turner every where I go and my sons love it so much that are saving to buy their own Indians! Joe R. - US Coast Guard Retired

Great Handling Heavyweight
I've ridden my Springfield from September through November (thanks to the heated grips) and found it lived up to its reputation as a great handling, comfortable bagger. What I didn't expect was the attention it got from passers-by due to the beautiful fit and finish. Despite the bike's weight, it is easy enough to manoeuver. The one negative is accessing the rear tire to check the air pressure due to the closed fender and exhausts.

Retirement Gift to myself!
After telling myself I would get a Harley when I retire, after seeing my buddies Heritage Softail 30 years ago or so, I started looking hard a year ago or so in anticipation of me retiring at the end of 2017. Road some, looked at some. Kept thinking, everyone has one of these. Buddy of mine told me how much he loves his Chief. So I looked at Indian. Wow! They were gorgeous. Ended up with a Springfield. Love it! The more I ride It the more I love It. Get a lot of double takes on it from people, like “ hey, wait, that’s not a Harley!”. Ya I know! What a retirement gift! Thirty years in the making.

204-mile lunch run today, Jan. 18, 2018
When people ask me how I like my Indian I respond this way: "I love it, it's comfortable, it's simple and it's FUN!" The odometer turned over 4,000 miles today as I rode out of Borrego Springs, CA, with some fast-moving Harley riders. We'd just had lunch there, having ridden from Palm Desert earlier in the day. These other riders get aggressive with their throttles (some with 110 ci motors) and a big smile comes across my face as I twist my Indian throttle and this beefy 111 ci comes alive with torque and power--so much so that I'm having to keep a close eye on the Harley directly in front of me. No sense running him over! I ride about 20,000 miles per year, and I have four touring bikes. Otherwise I would have already racked up many more miles on this white Springfield last year.
Today's lunch run which incorporated a multitude of twisties and elevation changes proved to me that my Indian is not only a touring bike but a sport bike that agressively takes on tight curves in a nimble fashion. I'm very favorably impressed. Oh, on almost every ride, while occasionally stopped, some stranger walks up to me and compliments my Indian. It's an all-around FUN machine!

I wanted the Springfield all along...
I knew I wanted a Springfield from the day I first read about it. An Indian with removable windshield and hard saddle bags, perfectly capable of long distance touring that can be quickly stripped down to cruise with that classic Indian look and feel. I've had my Blue Sapphire over Star Silver (gorgeous!) Springfield for about six months now and could not be happier. Much smoother ride than what I was used to. Handles like a dream with plenty of power. A real attention getter!

When my wife and I visited the Indian showroom in Manchester, NH we really started looking at the other bikes. I was checking out the Springfield when a petite woman around five foot five threw her leg over the bike and said, "If I could, this would be the one." She walked away and my wife came over and said "hey big fella, think you can handle something like this now?" My rationale for looking at the Scout was that I didn't want a large heavy bike as I hadn't ridden since I was roughly 26 years old -- I started riding again at 50 in June of 2016. My wife told me to look at the Springfield so that we wouldn't repeat another purchase to a larger bike in the next year or so. I traded another American brand for my Springfield and am thrilled after taking the risk.
While I think the Scout is a nice bike too, the Springfield is so well balanced you could corner with one hand (if one wants to ride around like that). To date there has not been one instance where I thought I would drop the bike. It has more power than one will ever need and is simply a beautiful versatile bike. Hard saddle bags are great for a gallon of milk or supplies for a trek across New England. The instruments and display leave little doubt for how things are running. I have had some stuff come up - kick stand sensor caused the warning light to stay on for 30 miles once and another sensor came on another time. The minor blips are far overshadowed with an otherwise great product. I'd buy another Indian again without hesitation (and just might if my wife isn't looking)...

Throttle
I love the bike except for one thing - the throttle. The grip requires way too much twist to get any real response. You almost have to grab it twice to get to full throttle. Perhaps if Indian worked with Vance & Hines to develope a Fuelpak 3 like the one for Harley’s then the progressivity could be adjusted for crisper response. Other than that the bike is great.

Never looking back
Bought my 2017 Springfield on July 5th of 2017. What brought me to it was a friend of mine who was A HD rider for over 30yrs bought an Indian in 2016, I waited till 2017 to ask him how he liked it. His response was "Love it, I'll never go back to HD". At the time I had a 2014 HD 1200 I had to see what changed this man's mind so off I went to Mom's in Foxboro Ma. Needless to say the rest is history the 1200 Stayed and the Springfield went home with me.you have to ride one to see why, there's no words to describe the Indian bike

Best Cruiser Yet
I had a Chieftain before I bought my 2016 Springfield. Thought I'd miss the sound system that the Chieftain came with. Before I took delivery on my 2016 Springfield, I had it upgraded to Stage 2, which included pipes, performance air cleaner, re-mapping, and Stage 2 cams. Now I don't miss the sound system because the exhaust note is music to my ears. The Springfield is also the best handling motorcycle I've ever had (bar none), and I've had a bunch including Harley & rice-burners. Do not try one out unless you're ready to buy a new bike, because if you do, then you will buy one.

Overall Nice
2019 Indian demo ride in Cavecreek AZ; nicely laid out but once on the bike...too small. Fairing felt close, seat was small and uncomfortable, highway bars forced my feet back and floorboards were too narrow to fit my foot.
Once on the ride the overall response and agility was really nice. Everything I forgot about during my initial assessment, except the seat. The seat killed the ride for me and my lady. We are used to riding hundreds of miles in a day, we were both unhappy after the 10 mile loop.

Excellent handling and smooth ride
Rode it mainly to see the difference between it and my Vintage. First ever fairing bike I ever rode as only being 5'7" I had always been intimidated by the extra mass. I was surprised at how well it suited me. I was so impressed that the next day I traded my 14 Vintage that I loved for a new Chieftan.

First ride on a big bagger
I bought a Scout Bobber this Spring and I love it. I put a 2 up seat on it and the wife and I have cruised the NH seacoast and had a blast. However, with 2" of rear suspension and no storage, it is a short ride bike with 2 people. I wanted to try a big bagger, having never ridden an 800# bike. Turns out the weight is not noticeable. The ergonomics are different than the Bobber so it took a few minutes to get comfortable. Once settled in I loved it. Low end torque, soft seat and suspension, warm behind the fairing, GPS, etc, etc. I guess I need 2 Indians!

The new seat placement. Great
Im looking to get the new chieftain. Compared to the 2018 with the better seat placement makes way more better ride. I also like the better shaped saddle bags of the 2019. However I do like the fairing of the 2018 with the blinkers intagreated in it.

Most fun to ride Motorcycle I have owned
I bought my 2014 Chieftain in January 2018. It had only 2600 miles on it. 8 months later I have 10,000 miles on the odometer. Best ride ever. The piston slap (clacking) and excessive valve train noise (that was finally fixed in the 2018 models with a new piston design) is very annoying even though Polaris says it will not impact reliability. If they would fix this problem, my Chieftain would be a 5 out of 5.

Very Responsive
I only had a 20 minute demo ride, but here is what I can tell you. Throttle response and torque were excellent, as were the brakes. Handling was excellent also. Interstate and winding curves were intuitive and stable. The electric windshield was nice, but I think I'd leave it in the highest position all the time for me, I'm 6ft tall. Shifted excellent too. The rear brake pedal was too small for my liking, but that is minor. The seat was comfortable and supportive, but a long trip would be needed for conclusive results, as would the saddle bags, which I didn't use. Also, for a heavy bike, the balance, even at slow speeds was excellent. It was an enjoyable ride. Thanks.

This was my first time riding an Indian Motorcycle and I was very impressed. I love the instant throttle response, the clutch engages almost as soon as you let out the clutch lever. The bike is very well balanced, I could easily roll at 3mph and not ever feel like I was going to lose balance. The bike does not feel heavy at all. The best part is the power, this bike has lots of torque in every gear.

Very impressive motor and vintage look!
I rode a new Chieftain while attending the Lake Ozark Bike Fest. I have owned 2 Honda VTX 1800's, a Harley Street Glide and a Harley Softail. I must admit that the motor in this Indian had very impressive torque and the paint and finish on this bike lived up to it's premium bike class. Polaris has done an outstanding job of offering the riding public a bike worthy of the Great American Road!

Demo Success at Four Corners Rally
Ergonomically it was a great fit for my 5’9” frame, lots of touchdown on the pavement. Instructed about the 3 modes - Tour, Standard and Sport - I chose the Sport mode which had tight throttle response ( a little too much for my 1st Demo ride). We rode about 10 miles out of Sky Ute Casino and the Demo guide stopped and asked what I thought. I explained the “jumpiness” in the throttle response and he suggested I switch to Standard mode, and that’s all it took. We glided through the turns and hills like a hot knife through butter. So smooth, very comfortable in turns with downshifting. I picked up speed quickly and placed my hand in front of my face to check windshield placement, it was perfect. Wind hit top of my helmet with no buffeting. Sadly, the second half of the ride brought us back to the casino when I was really starting to have fun with this bike. Thanks for the demo trial. Highly recommend!

Great Bike!
Demoed this bike at 4 corners rally in Ignacio CO. Plenty of power, loved the feel, handled like it was on rails, really like the touch screen and the power windshield. But it was the performance that really makes this bike so good. I got off this bike, went to the Harley demo fleet and rode a Roadglide special for comparison, there is none, this is a superior motorcycle! Limited dealer network and aftermarket support are drawbacks, nearest dealer is 250 miles from my house. Not to mention that it is overpriced.

Good bike, but needs more room
I test rode a 2019 Indian Chieftain Dark Horse in Sturgis. I had high hopes as I come from a Victory Cross Country, so that is where my comparison comes from:
--Engine: I have "stage 1" on my Victory, and when compared to a stock ThunderStroke 111 my butt dyno couldn't tell a difference. I was hoping for a bit more, sadly.
--Fit & Finish: The Indian is great here. Seems like a high quality, well engineered motorcycle (it has Victory DNA, after all). Definitely a quality machine.
--Ergonomics: This is where Indian falls flat. I wish they would quit trying to copy Harley Davidson and make a bike that someone 6' 1" tall can easily stretch out on. When riding I had to keep my feet hanging halfway off the front of the floorboards. I do not have to do that on a Victory in order to let my legs stretch a little. Also, my passenger was much closer to me, hugging me almost, than on my Victory.
I very much tried to get over the ergonomics differences. In fact I came back the next day and test rode one again with a different mind set. Unfortunately I am completely spoiled by Victory. I was very much willing to spend a lot of money to buy the Indian in Sturgis, unfortunately the ergonomics factor completely turned the Indian bikes into a non-factor for me. That's really too bad.
I would only recommend Indian motorcycles to someone shorter than 6-feet tall, or someone that doesn't mind not being able to stretch out a bit while riding.
