SMART LEAN TECHNOLOGY™

Smart Lean Technology™ enhances the safety of the Anti-lock Braking and Traction Control systems by tuning the performance based on the vehicle lean-angle

6-AXIS BOSCH INERTIAL MEASUREMENT UNIT (IMU)

Ride confidently on the Challenger thanks to its state-of-the-art technology. It features a Bosch 6-axis IMU, which measures vehicle acceleration in all directions to determine lean angle and pitch. This is used to tune traction control and ABS intervention.

DYNAMIC TRACTION CONTROL WITH CORNERING CONTROL

Utilizing the on-board IMU and wheel speed sensors, this technology is designed to deliver maximum power to the road. In a straight line, the dynamic traction control monitors wheel slip and limits torque application to match allowable wheel spin in each ride mode. Cornering control will optimize torque delivery based on lean angle to improve bike stability while leaned, further enhancing the cornering safety and performance.

ABS WITH CORNERING CONTROL

The anti-lock brake system is tuned for optimal straight-line performance, monitoring for wheel slip before relieving brake pressure. With Smart Lean Technology™ and the integrated IMU, ABS is tuned for optimal performance in turns, within physical limits. The ABS with cornering control will optimize brake pressure based on lean angle to improve bike stability while leaned, further enhancing the cornering safety and performance.

DRAG TORQUE CONTROL

Drag Torque Control (DTC) reduces excessive rear-wheel slip when making a quick down-shift or decelerating rapidly. When DTC detects too much rear wheel slippage, it works by adjusting engine torque delivery, matching rear-wheel speed to road speed.
