FTR S
Starting at $14,999 US MSRP
2022 FTR S White Smoke is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 104.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing bike! This is my 9th bike in 35 years of riding! I have had Harleys, GSXRs, Ninjas, Buells, name it. I went to Sturgis and test road an FTR...FELL IN LOVE! I was unsure about the wider bars...tall, thinner tires, etc. I like to ride pretty aggressively. WOW! this think handles! Transitions are seamless...the ABS and TC are top shelf (I had never used TC...used it a lot now ;) Riding with wider bars (I am used to sport bikes) was new to me but I found it gives a lot of control and leverage. The torque curve is awesome. Hits bout 6K and pulls hard...Overall, this bike is fun as hell and just a joy to ride. I have had people stop their cars and take pictures. It is a pretty wild but beautiful bike. I put an S&S exhaust, bar end mirrors, fender delete, and LED front signals to clean her up. She sounds amazing!...This is one cool and badass bike! That being said..I am not tall..5'7"..I am on my toes backing it out. I think it would be good for pretty tall people....I am super happy. This bike is a Hooligan all day long that likes long rides!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Puts a smile on my face every time I ride it! Overall I love this bike! Overall I love this bike! I love being able to go on gravel, dirt roads and driving in the rain in rain mode and feel safe! The sound of the bike is kind of quiet even with the Akrapovic exhaust. The OEM tune is not the best. The bike stalls when your warming it up all the time and it's not even cold out. You will have to buy a tume from a third party to fix it and then your bike will run great but it will cost you around $600 US. I wouldn't recommend this bike on a major highway without a windshield else you will get blown around too much. I'm 5'9 and the bike is a little tall for me. I'm a always on my Tippy toes but I learned how to keep my right foot on the right peg and lean the bike to one side when I stop. Took me a few hours of practice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice little ride! Fun bike to take when you want to enjoy the hills and curves. It's great to ride when you want to cool off. I also enjoy riding this more in town.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The more I ride it the better it gets When I first got it, the bike felt really heavy and hard to maneuver. The bike is tall and I can’t completely flat foot it at 5’11. After clocking 1200 miles, I feel completely comfortable taking it on long trips. The handling is a little quirky compared to my BMW, but you get used to it. There’s no bike that really compares to it. It’s in a league if it’s own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome bike Fun to play around on, but comfortable to go on a day long trip. Fast

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth ride, great torque I bought the bike a month ago. It is the first bike that I’ve bought and honestly couldn’t be happier with it. I’ve ridden other bikes before but never felt the way this one does. Anywhere I go it turns heads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing bike I've been watching the FTR since the first concept bike was published. The test ride was key, and it was clear the FTR was everything I could have wanted and more. I've been riding the FTR most days for over a month and it does not disappoint. I'm glad I opted for the race replica, it solved a lot of new bike modification issues right off the shore room floor. I like bikes that are nimble, quick, and powerful, with an upright riding style. There aren't many bikes that hit the target, but the FTR absolutely crushes it. On top of all that, Indian/Polaris take great care of veterans. That was just icing on the cake.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handles better then expected! After a lot of back and forth on where to buy the FTR 1200 s I finally went into the dealership to test ride one. I come from a cruiser/ bagger background so I knew this would going to be a different feel. After that one ride I knew that I needed to add this to the collection. So happy I did. As the saying goes, "variety is the spice of life," and I happy happy to add this new spice to my garage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy Overall Out of my 3 runner ups of bike choices I finally choose the FTR. I am very pleased with the power and overall handling. The FTR has a longer wheelbase than the other motorcycles I was looking at which has not been an issue at all. The FTR also has approx 30 more HP than other bike manufacturers in it's class such as a scrambler type motorcycle. I am a bigger guy and I did change out the handlebars for the taller ones and that makes longer trips much more enjoyable. All in all the 2 months I've owned the FTR I am very happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from American Made Warrior! This bike puts a smile on my face every time I take it out. 1,000 miles so far and I am not disappointed. She is cold blooded by rides and performs well!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Come Back Ever Bought my FTR just over a month ago. Was hesitant to buy any motorcycle, since my last bike was over ten years ago. But I read and watched reviews which lead to finally taking the plunge. Since I rode off the lot, I haven’t looked back. It has been such a great experience and the whole process over at Indian Motorcycle of Newport News was incredible. The staff was amazing from start to finish and if I could buy two more bikes, I would. The bike itself is so much fun. Has so much power and there is nothing like it out there on the roads. Definitely one of a kind. Indian Motorcycle should be very proud.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FTR Race Replica I traded up from the scout bobber which, at the time was the best bike I had ever riden. The FTR is the most fun someone can have on two wheels!
Date published: 2020-08-04
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great all around bike. 900 miles of smiles! Everytime the bike is stopped someone comes to check it out. I hit the curves and then straight to the dirt roads! Clear turn signals, messager bag and wind screen Added. I do wish the "Indian" logo was painted on like our Race Replica. I look forward to carbon fiber Radiator, heat and chain guards to come to market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nicest motorcycle out I am so happy to go with the Indian FTR 1200. It is literally the nicest motorcycle I have ever owned and I have had everything from a Buell 1200 to a hayabusa and everything in-between and this is by far my favorite motorcycle yet. I have owned atleast 25 different makes and models of motorcycles yet this is the all around nicest. I love all of the features on it along with the gauge cluster and how you can change the setup along with the different modes. It really surprised me power wise and is very nimble as well. One of the only motorcycles on the market that comes with a full AKRAPOVIČ exhaust on it from the factory as well. I am just all around impressed with this motorcycle and can't wait to add another Indian to the collection in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indian nailed it with this bike. Beauty and power! perfect combination on modern tech combined with classic old school Indian features. Amazing power, especially since the bike only weighs 500lb wet.. bike it geared well. I wish it had a slightly further range as you're lucky to get 140 miles a tank but thats not a buge deal. I've gotten more compliments on it that I can count. Even old men who are die hard harley riders have come up to me and basically drooled over it (which was the biggest surprise to me). Having the Indian logo on the side helps but the overall design of the bike it.was really makes it stand out. Love it and would recommend to anyone looking or even considering buying a new bike.!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unique style packed with technology After owning the FTR1200S for a couple of months, I am still content and positively surprised that I have found an American Motorcycle Manufacturer that was able to pack modern technology, good performance, easy handling and good ergonomics into a flattracker/streetbike. Coming from only riding modern sport bikes (750cc and up) to the FTR1200S, was an rather easy and also very welcome change. All in all are the positive aspects by far outnumbering the minor flaws that I so far noticed. Actually the only flaw so far that could use some improvement ist the design of the fueltank (it could definitely be a bit bigger, maybe a gallon more, as well as the fuel filler neck could allow for a better flow during refueling and the fuel cap is sometimes hard to lock). However, the engine performance, the electronic gadgets, the easy handling, the state of the art LED illumination make you forget all of that and simply enjoy the ride
Date published: 2020-07-15
Rated 3 out of 5 by from fuel injection The FTR1200S race replica is a sharp looking bike but is a bit heavy and feels big but still handles great. There is a lot of good about this bike but there is one bad thing that needs to be addressed. The fuel injection, it has some serious lean condition issues that really need to be sorted out by Indian. It runs so poorly on start up that the check engine light regularly comes on due to an apparent cylinder misfire code. If I try to leave before 150-175 degree engine temp. it stutters and lurches and has stalled several time almost causing me to tip over and once pulling out of my driveway and again at an intersection. It is also causing noticeable surging at around 4,000 RPM which is right at highway cruising speed. Waiting to see if there is an update or something performed at the initial service that hopefully corrects this. That issue aside I'm very happy with the ergonomics and handling of the bike. It gets a lot of looks and compliments! If the fuel injection issue can be sorted out the FTR would definitely get an excellent score from me and a lot of other owners ! Overall I am happy with the FTR and l glad that I purchased the replica edition. It's a beautiful bike that is a blast to ride and a joy to look at. Overall I think Indian did a very nice job of putting together a great package for a first model year production.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The FTR 1200S exceeded my expectations! This bike is solid and fast. It's an old man's dream when it comes to nostalgia and performance. I knew I had to have one when I first saw it but didn't know I would like it this much. Updated features are incredible and easy to use. If you're a bike guy and want to take a break from cruisers and touring bikes this is the bike for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hooligan My foreign bike had lost its luster to me. I sold it. Then I had only a dirt bike. One day I am watching youtube and Pastrana is jumping Ceasars palace fountain. I remembered that he did this for Indian motorcycle racing. So I took a look and decided to go take a test ride. OMG. This bike has everything I wanted in a street bike. I bought a S model. Its beautiful. It has so many upgrades as standard. It rides great. Has nice power. Very happy for my purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bike Bought it a month ago and already have 1200 miles on it. Sport mode is great once you get used to it. My biggest and only complaint so far is the limit the top speed to 124 mph and you can tell the bike could easily go past that if they let it. 124mph is a kinda sketchy on a naked style bike this light... but atleast give us the option to be able to go faster.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike. One or two gremlins though... I bought this bike on May 5th and I love it. Totally hooked. A couple of things have to be looked at though: stalling when cold and stalling while downshifting...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome bike Great bike. Finally something different thats made in the correct country. Quality components and great fit and finish. Price is pretty decent. Stylish bike and made in america. Sounds great and has decent power. Its easy to ride and not too heavy. Only niggle is the oem cold engine temperature fueling needs some attention but once its warmed up its much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great first cruiser!! Put my first 600 miles on my 2020 Scout Sixty and I love it! Couldn't be more happy with my purchase. The stock seat was my only real compliant. Upgraded to the sport seat and so far it is a definite improvement from the stock seat. Exhaust sounds more like a sport bike than I would like, but, other than that, its my first Indian, and I will for sure be back for more!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expectations I’ve owned many motorcycles over the years. 43 years old now. I got out of riding for several years. I had previously owned a few Harley Sportsters and was leaning in that direction. Then i test rode the Scout 60! Wow! In one sentence: it’s just a better bike in all aspects. Period. The power delivery delivery is amazing as well as the handling. Ride comfort is also leaps and bounds better. The dealerships I’ve had service done have been very helpful. As a long time Harley guy i feel Harley is in trouble here. Very very happy Indian owner. I don’t look back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Bike I have had this for just over 2 mo now have rode it into the hill country.. I love this Bike the only reason I gave it a 4 overall and not the 5 is the rear tire has 0 traction on wet service. when out riding I got hit with rain and the lose of control from the rear was very scary. over all I love this thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my Scout Sixty! I get compliments on it every time I’m filling up with gas. I ride two to three times a day on it and frequently go for day trips on the weekend. I cannot get enough of this bike! I highly recommend it. It’s quick and agile. Great on the highway, great on country roads and great in the city. I get tons of compliments on it and it’s totally fun to outfit with customizable additions. I recommend the shorty slip on exhaust. Bottom line this is the best decision I’ve made for myself in memory. If you’re on the fence - just get it. You’ll thank yourself tomorrow, and the next day, and the next...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike!!! I love my Scout Sixty! At 1000 cc it is plenty big enough to get me around! I wanted to get into a great new bike (at a good price) so I could get used to riding again after 30+ years. The bike is beautiful! I’ve added a windshield and after market bags so I’m set-for now! The sound and t(e look is so nice. I get tons of comments and compliments on this bike! After a bit I will be looking for a bigger bike so I can hit the highway and make long trips. That being said there’s not an Indian bike I wouldn’t be proud to own!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love my SCOUT I BOUGHT MY BIKE A FEW WEEKS AGO. I CAN'T EVEN START TO EXPLAIN TO YOU HOW GREAT OF A BIKE IT IS. IT'S SO LIGHT, VERY SMOOTH ON THE ROAD AND ON TURNS! IT'S BETTER THAN A CADILLAC . . . JUST WITH TWO WHEELS! BEST BIKE I'VE EVER OWNED. IT'S NOT GOING ANYWHERE!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome bike! I bought a 2020 Scout Sixty blacked out and boy is this thing fun! With an exhaust, intake, and tune, it roars to life with great handling for daily riding and commuting while still having more than enough power for fun on the backroad twistys. I'd highly recommend this bike to anyone interested in getting into the world of motorcycles!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Underated bike easy to mod! We've had the bike for a few months. As a family we also own a roadmaster and a full size scout. If I had to do it over again I would not have purchased the full size scout - the only thing different besides 60 vs 69 motor, 5 speed vs 6, and usb port is not worth another $2500-3k IMHO. There are a lot of bolt-on options to set up this bike for whatever you want. The dealer made a special deal on the Indian fairing - This is my only regret. The fairing looks excellent, but does very little for wind protection, even with the highest (7 inch) windscreen it still is so loud I have to wear ear plugs and a full face helmet. On our other scout we have a 21 inch windscreen which does a much better job than the fairing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST FIRST BIKE! I BOUGHT MY SCOUT SIXTY 2 MONTHS AGO AND I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. THE ONLY THING I WISH IT HAD IS A HANDLEBAR LOCK, LIKE THE INTERNATIONAL MODELS HAVE. BESIDES THAT, EVERYTHING ABOUT THE SCOUT SIXTY IS FUN AND EXCITING. A TOTAL THRILL RIDE!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than Harley in every way I am so glad I decided to trade my Sportster for this scout. I have owned 1 Honda Shadow, 3 Sportsters, 1 Dyna, and 1 Softail. This scout sixty blows them all out of the water. It is faster, runs cooler and smoother, more comfortable from the factory, lower center of gravity, etc. I will never go back to any other brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome ride! Loved the look of a white bike but when I saw it in person...whoa! Matte white! Added a few accessories: 24” windshield, foot plates, saddle bags and passenger pad. A little more than I was looking to spend but worth every penny. Shifts like a dream and the ABS great. Female 5’8....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very enjoyable ride! I bought this bike a month ago and I absolutely love it! It’s the first motorcycle I’ve ever owned but I’ve always had my eyes on an Indian Motorcycle! The only thing I don’t like about this bike is the seat it’s not comfortable after a long ride. But other then that this bike is a great cruiser and a great starter bike it’s lightweight and easy to maneuver! It’s also got plenty of power!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just plain fun! I purchased my Indian Scout Sixty as a first street bike and couldn't be happier with my choice. The engine delivers smooth power and is nimble for a cruiser. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing ride! The Scout sixty is such a smooth and comfortable ride. The way this thing muscles around back roads is unlike any bike I have owned previously. The balance and smooth gear shifting gives me so much confidence. When you need the power its gets up to speed quick! The Scout looks amazing and gets many compliments! The only negative is it the front suspension takes bumps hard. But honestly no big deal. Hats off to Polaris and Indian for manufacturing such a top notch machine. The belt drive is low maintenance and is so smooth and flawless. I highly recommend the Scout! Im Indian for the rest of my riding life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike Purchased a month ago, previously had a Yamaha Bolt Cafe style. This has more power and easier to handle. Purchased second seat and back rest (back rest a must) and wife and I love riding it. I am 6'1 and fit just fine on it. I gave the sound a bad rating as factory is very very quiet. I put a vance and hines system on it and it sounds amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2021 Indian Scout I purchased this 2021 Indian Scout machine and it's a complete blast to ride. Only thing I've changed was the exhaust system which I had Daytona Beach Indian Motorcycle install. This machine has incredible pick up and handling. Being 65 years old it's a perfect machine for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An upgrade for sure. Put about 1000 miles on my Scout. It was a Demo model so had about 125 miles when I got it. I absolutely love it. But the front brake squeaks from the day I bought it and the throttle isn't as responsive as I'd l like.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Corners amazing! I bought this bike to upgrade from my old bike, Which was a Suzuki LS650. Totally different animal! I’m loving my Scout! The only thing that takes getting used to, it’s a little torque(y), but once you get used to that it goes, nice and smooth!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Bike Very happy with this bike. The price was very high for the minimal options that come stock. So that was a little upsetting. The limited availability of the Icon series is exciting because you feeling like you’re going to standout around town. But the high price blew my budget so I’m going to have to wait on aftermarket extras to make it my own. Lots of power for it’s size and weight. But it lacks an aggressive sound that you would expect from such a powerful bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like the Scout After over fifty years of riding, I thought maybe it was time to quit riding, so I sold my HD Road glide which I had owned since new in 2004. Along with most of my m/c gear. 2 months later , the " bug" bit me again, so down sized to a Triumph Bonneville. It was the great bike I remembered them to be, but it just wasn't the right fit for me. I sat on the Scout in the showroom and new immediately it was the bike for me. After putting a few hundred miles on it , I haven't changed my mind, just like the old days ,I look for excuses to get out on it. Great bike!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous bike, inside and out! I was hit by a car when in my Harley and the bike got totaled, so it was time to buy a new bike. I had been looking at new bike already, due to the vibration which had for long made my neuropathy to act up and I had to stop every 10 miles the least on Harley. Since I’m only 5ft tall, my search preferences were; low vibration, low seat height and some oomph on the engine. Wanted features included pegs for sure, the kind I could reach with size 5 riding shoes. Sounds easy to find, but is anything but. I’ve always liked how Indians look, somewhat..should I use word “noble” here, So I went to local Indian dealer and sat on one amd that was pretty much it. The problems I find with stock features are reach to the levers (I can barely reach the brake lever with my small hand, which obviously is an issue) and the heat from the engine, same with heat from pipes when stopped. On the other hand, there are so many adjustments on Scout that can be done without changing parts, that it’s quite incredible. For my height, I also might look for another seat, I have quite a bit of space behind me. I also love the power the engine gives, though it takes quite high rpms to get going, but when it does..it’s an open road all the way after traffic lights, all to myself. Regardless..I can’t give anything less than 5 stars after having my Indian less than couple months.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Expensive I love the bike but instantly regretted buying it. For 17k I could’ve got a much better bike either Indian or Harley. Also if you are hoping to get accessories don’t hold you breath. I purchased the bike in December and it’s February and my passenger seat is still not here along with other accessories. Love the look of the bike but looking back I would’ve spent that money on a bigger bike with more features.

The size and weight make it easier to move around, and the handling is simply amazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looks, ride and handling I bought the 100th Anniversary Scout in November for two main reasons. 1.) To have a local (less than 150 mile) good handling, great looking and easy mounting ride and 2.) to match my 1928 101 Scout at local shows / events. In all regards it is exceeding my goals and expectations. Absolutely great handling on local and back roads with torque and response to keep a smile on you face and envious looks from others. The match to the first generation Scouts is outstanding and an immediate draw to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Size and Fast! I sold my VTX1800 because the weight was bothering me. I wanted at least a 1000cc and technically the Scout is 1200cc. So it rides nice. Enough passenger room for my wife. Carries us both well. I installed aftermarket driver running boards and will put passenger ones on in Spring. I like the factory accessories that (black leather saddle bags, black touring seat w/sissy bar, LED headlight and removeable windshield.) The bike is fast and smooth and you don't really know it on an open road! All of a sudden you're doing ( more than 55!) The bike is well balanced and has good handling. The Jade Green paint was quality and beautiful metallic. I would of liked a handlebar lock but they only come on models sold overseas. Not sure why not on the US bikes. I may invest in a small cable lock so at least it'll take effort to move it if somebody was going to. It should be at least an option on US Bikes. I am pleased with the dealer and product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Own Flying Carpet So smooth! Magnificent ride. I live in East County San Diego so I have a plethora of curvy roads. I dressed my Scout to my liking with longer handle bars, seats, sissy bar, saddle bags and windshield to make the max pleasurable riding experience. I ride as often as I am able. The fat tires and low riding position make me feel like I am on my own personal flying carpet. I love my cycle and would recommend it to everybody.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Bike! I belong to a ladies group on Facebook and most were commenting on their Indians. I had to see for myself. I found the nearest dealer to me and saw the Scout. Beautiful bike. Went home with it! My only disappointment, it's easy to burn my right leg if I get it to close to the bike when at a stopped position.

Scout Bobber
Starting at $12,249 US MSRP
2022 Scout Bobber Black Metallic is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 668.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun bike! I've had mine for a month and a half now and absolutely love it. Very agile, very maneuverable, lots of fun to ride. I would have given a fifth star if it wasn't for the porky quiet exhaust, and the poor shocks. The porky mufflers were gone an hour after I brought it home from the dealership. The shocks will be replaced as soon as the aftermarket ones arrive. I understand that the stock parts are for keeping the overall price down,so it's ok.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy The wait was worth it. I was very happy to upgrade to this as my second bike. The bike looks great. The only drawback I've found so far is the seat is not very comfortable. I was able to have the seat upgraded by a local guy, which has made a ton of difference. It's a pleasure to ride. It will beat you up a bit at higher speeds, but if you want a bike without a windshield and faring, you should expect that. All in all, I'm very satisfied.
Date published: 2021-11-14
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great platform that needs some tweaks. The engine is great and it looks fantastic. The downside is that even though it is a low bike, it can be hard for shorter rider due to the very long reach for the foot controls. So a test ride is highly suggested before purchase. I would strongly suggest a better seat and upgraded rear shocks upon purchase. The bike would be far better if they came standard with a decent rear shock and a useable seat. The exhaust is also very heavy and very long. But the shocks and seat are essential upgrades for new owners. The unfortunate part is that the parts needed to make the bike useable are quite often out of stock from Indian. With that said, it does look awesome and it is very, very quick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome bike! Recently purchased my bobber a couple months ago. I’m 6’3” so immediately installed raised bars. I installed aftermarket slip on exhaust because the stock pipes sound pretty weak. Also upgraded to the comfort seat because the factory saddle is awful. All in all this is a great bike! Sufficient power, and the lighter weight makes handling a breeze. Lots of modification options out there to customize it to your liking. It’s a fun bike to rip around town or the country backroads but I wouldn’t envision taking longer trips on this bike. But tot clearly isn’t made for cross-country touring so for what it’s made to do, it does it very well. I gave 5 stars for available features but just be aware there aren’t a lot of features. This bike isn’t made with flash & frill gadgets in mind but if you understand what you’re paying for and what you’re saving on, this bike will serve you VERY well. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprising I bought the bike is the spring, took possession in the fall. Already disappointed as the riding season had passed. I put the break in mikes on and was surprised by everything, the ride is extremely smooth, powerful, quick, and fun to scoot around on.the ergonomics are a little compact for me (6'1", 190lbs) im not use to the feet position but with a set of buddy pegs it would give the option to change riding position. The ride is somewhat rigid, but manageable, i have not tried to change settings on the rear shock. I have had neck surgery and i would like to add reduced reach handlebars. Currently, there is not much to choose from as far as accessories but i would like to add aza few things. Great bike, quick, powerful, well worth the money. I am looking forward to the next riding season.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun first time This has been my very first bike. But I have had more fun with this bike on each ride. It is super easy to maneuver at low speeds and even at faster speed I have no problem dodging pot holes. Not having a gas gauge does make me more time cautious. And my only severe flaw with this bike is I do not like the sound of the exhaust. So in the near future I will have to switch out the headlights for an LED bulb and switch the exhaust to add the extra bike sound. But I would not trade my bike for another I love riding this bike everyday

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2021 Scout Bobber I bought this bike back in May 2021. Do to the current state of things it took 4 months to be delivered, however this is not the fault of the dealership or Indian. The bike was worth the wait. This is a great medium sized cruiser. The bike rides and handles very well and is easy to throw around. The throttle is very responsive and the bike has not shortage of power. The acceleration and speed on this bike definitely do not disappoint. It does well for it's intended purpose, shorter trips around town and carving backroads. Due to the slammed suspension you do feel more bumps and the highway is a bit unpleasant, but this is advertised as a "bobber" so this is to be expected. I would not hesitate the purchase if you are looking for a medium size cruiser for primarily shorter trips. Indian definitely hit it out of the park on style, I have yet to take it out without someone stopping me to compliment the bike. The bike also sounds great once you replace the factory exhaust. My only cons, which are nit picky, are that the bike does not come with an LED headlight or rear traction control or rain mode. Not a deal breaker, but other bikes in the category, like the Triumph Bonneville Bobber, have such features standard and sell for the same price as the Scout Bobber. Overall this is a great bike.

The ride quality is what a bobber should be, and no Harley in its class can compare in the performance category! I just took a 120 mile ride with it over the weekend, and I have no complaints!!! I don't regret a thing about this motorcycle!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love this bike! Stepping into the local dealer a few months ago, I knew I was going to make a large purchase... but what I did not know, was that it would be an Indian. I had been riding sports bikes for 10+ years and felt like it was time to give a cruiser a try. Walking into the local shop, the Indian dealership had immediately caught my eye. The clothing, the color scheme and not to mention the small selection of beautiful bikes lined up at the entrance. It was a love at first sight experience; the clothing and colors were my style, the staff were immediately helpful and informative and the bikes themselves were masterpieces. With a little help from the salesman, I was able to build a custom bike using the very detailed Indian website; seeing the costs of accessories and a rendering of the bike itself. The most difficult part of the buying process, was waiting the few months for the bike to get delivered. But when that day came, there was no disappointment. Straight out of the box, it was the perfect fit. Tinkering around the Indian website and communities, the possibilities are endless. Finding that random washer that fits a tiny screw on the underside of the frame would be effortless with the detailed diagrams and purchase options available online. Parts and accessories are aplenty on the website and in the local dealer. Deals and coupons are constant and available. We wont mention the complements and conversations I've had just riding an Indian to anywhere I take it. I will absolutely be looking to purchase a Chief in the next year or two.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from fairly quick good looking bobber had the bike around 2 months now, comfort is exactly as you would expect from a bobber with 2 inches of rear suspension, after around 45 minutes you really start to feel it. but this bike isnt made for the long hauls. very very fun bike to ride around town/for a quick cruze, gets alot of looks and compliments, the bike keeps everything fairly basic, but responsive and well designed, overall its a very nice motorcycle and its exactly what i expected, only wish it sounded a bit more aggressive from the factory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing motorcycle!!! I bought this motorcycle about a month ago. I love the styling, the performance and the feel!!!

Scout Bobber Twenty
Starting at $13,249 US MSRP
2022 Scout Bobber Twenty Black Metallic is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 668.

Chief Dark Horse
Starting at $17,499 US MSRP
2022 Chief Dark Horse Black Smoke is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 371.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the look I wanted! Been away from motorcycles for about 12 years now (guess how old my oldest is) and finally decided to get back on two wheels. When I looked at the market I was surprised to see how much has changed. I knew I had outgrown the sport bikes but wasn’t quite mature enough for a Touring...that left me wanting a mean looking cruiser that wouldn’t take hours a month of chrome polishing. When I saw the Chief Dark Horse I was sold. Started doing my homework on reliability and panicked when I saw how bad it was but then realized this was all pre-Polaris and since they’ve taken over it seems the same quality they build their ATVs with is now going into their bikes. I love everything about the bike and am having a blast racking up the miles and customizing it to make it my own. Zero regrets on that purchase!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots of Power, Great Looks I bought the bike over a month ago now, upgraded from a Scout. The difference is night and day. The power and smoothness of the ride is not even comparable to a Scout or similar. Very comfortable ride, and the ride height allows you to still take corners pretty tight even though this is a large bike. When I bought the bike, the dealership had put Rinehart pipes on, which sound great (much more of a growl to them vs the stock pipes). I'd think my only gripes are; 1) Clutch grab is not a tight fit and rattles against the handlebar when I hit bumps. Tried tightening the clutch cable, but that did not solve it...seems to just be a loose fit. 2) The first shift from 1st into 2nd after starting the bike is a little rough, you really have to force it up into gear. After that however, when the bike warms up, shifting is effortless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First cruiser Ok so Ive been riding for a little over 10 years. And until I bought this bike it was always rockets. Last bike before this was an R1, However I was ready for more comfort. One day my brother showed me the scout an I had to go sit on it. I did and while it was better then the r1 by miles I was still c shaped for a riding position. Then I sat on a chief an I knew that was it. I traded my R1 in for the chief dark horse. And I only have 300 miles on it so far but I will say I am not disappointed. The ride is super smooth and sitting position is perfect. I can ride for longer then an hour and not feel any discomfort and hitting any bumps in the road are barely noticeable. The bike is fantastic an has enough power to get out of its own way. Only thing I might recommend if you do a lot of highway riding is getting a windshield. An that’s only if your doing 65+. That’s nothing against the bike it’s just the pressure on you from the wind is annoying. But it’s not like I felt like I was going g to get ripped from the bike or anything. The seat is deep and holds you in place well an is very comfortable for a stock seat. And the bike just looks and sounds great. I know for most riders they like there bike to scream with how loud it is. The stock pipes on it have a nice sound. It lets you know it’s there without being obnoxious. But I do know most people want to be heard a block away and the stock pipes don’t do that. While I loved my r1 I regret nothing getting this bike and am looking forward to a summer of long and enjoyable rides with my family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mean, Lean and Dark I purchased the 2020 Chief Dark Horse at the end of 2019 while adding the Stage 3 upgrade along with a few other extras. Once the bike was done receiving the upgrade and the 500 mile break-in period was up, I got to test the beast out a bit. Handling is effortless, ride is smooth but pulsating, power is more than I hoped for, and looks are nothing less than exquisite. The only regret I have is there is not enough time in my day to stay in the saddle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Beast This machine looks and acts so mean. For a 750 lbs. bike, the handling is elite. It’s such a blast to ride. The only negative is that it does not come stock with a windshield like the classic chief and springfield.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bookmarked for my next bike purchase I was finally able to test ride a 2019 Chief Dark Horse and it exceeded all my expectations. What an absolute road crusher! I currently own a 2018 Scout Bobber and have the Chief Dark Horse pegged as my next bike.....dependant on one singular change: PLEASE give us some color choices Indian!!! It is such a beautiful bike, but all of them are black. Indian has some of the best colors in the motorcycle industry (check out their scout line) so it only seems natural that more color options should come to the Chief Dark Horse. Pssst: White Smoke is the color I want.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Demo Ride I road the Dark Horse at Rt 30 in West York, PA. it has plenty of power, handles well and the riding position is comfortable. The feel of it over lacks a little for me. My Harley makes me feel close to the road and, although some may not care for the weight and vibration, it is part of the experience for me. The Dark Horse is a few thousand more than my Ultra Limited cost me, has less cargo space even with a trunk, is air cooled, and the salesman was touting “new features” for the Indian that were on my Limited in 2014. I didn’t care for the toe shift or the break peg as opposed to the heal toe shift and break pad in the Harley. Bottom line is while the Indians have impressive power and handling, to approach the touring space and quality of features I would need to spend somewhere in the range of $38k on a new Indian and, even then I am not sure it would match the touring capability of my Harley. I really wanted to love this bike, and I think there is some potential, but, for the cost I could by a CVO...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hands down best bike! This is my second Indian I’ve purchased within two years time. I have nothing but love for my Springfield 2019!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2020 Springfield Bought this bike about a month ago put 8000km trouble free kilometers on it. It does everything I wanted, has great styling and appearance. Only issue I have had is that whenever I stop it takes 10-15 minutes while somebody checks out the bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Ride! My husband and I purchased this bike for the comfort of the ride. We have been looking for over a year and finally made a decision and would not change a thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Retro styling the best!!! Love it - but bit of engine “clatter” - But handles great - classic retro styling sold me.... nothing better than black & chrome... pricing was ok

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well balanced quality bike. Great ride. Similar to a Harley Road King, but better balanced and quality.
Date published: 2020-07-27
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasure to ride I'm ashamed to say that I've never looked at Indian before now, always been a Harley fan. If you're on the fence take a test ride!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1000 miles in just over a month I bought this bike in early June 2020 and have really enjoyed riding it since. It took a bit to get use to such a heavy bike, but it rides and handles like a dream.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1 Not Little Indian indian Springfield 2019. A personal dream transported into my reality. Burgundy with steel gray demands attention and gets it effortlessly. Smoothest balance, shifting and ride I can imagine in this bike's class. Fully loaded with incredible features for the price; an exquisite value. Looking forward to years of great performance and adventure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features Great Ride Awesome handling Beauty! This is the bike I wanted 2 years ago, however felt it was too big for my first bike. So, I bought a Scout. I loved the Scout! However, this bike just kept calling me. So, I bought it! I am so happy I did! It handles so much better in the wind, the ride is astronomical! Beauty? I can't begin to give enough credit to the authentic, classy, beautifully retro lines of the bike! She is a dream come true!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Features, Stability and Ride Comfort I downsized from a Roadmaster to the Springfield because it was time and the smart thing to do given my age. I fully expected to purchase another brand of bike that I had owned previously, but when I test rode that bike it took less than 5 miles to realize it didn't compare to the Indian in terms of features, road feel and overall comfort. I would have given this bike 5 stars, but the OEM handlebars were uncomfortable for me and the reduced reach bars I had installed are spread further apart than than OEM bars so I really didin't gain anything in terms of a true reduced reach. After 800 miles that is my only distraction which I guess I'll get used to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great bike great handling I'm in love, I bought it with the 116 and with a 21" front tire, and Freedom pipes. looks great and has all the power i could ask for!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Riders ride 1200km on my new springfeild! Kudos to indian for being able to deliver exactly what I wanted in a motorcycle. The fit and finished quality is second to none. The bike handles with a refined confidence and comfort. Although my bike has been modified with stage 2 cams, I'm sure the ts111 delivers more than enough torque and power to satisfy any need, with the cams it becomes as much as anybody could need from a v twin heavy weight, almost unruly but buckets of fun. The bike is gorgeous, runs and handles exceptionaly, but does have some draw backs... Most notably for me NO HELMET LOCKS. Im not always stopping at the hotel and dont really like carrying a helmet around with me. Now I just use cheap helmets instead of fancy Indian ones. The heat from the CAT on the right side is a bit much and probably could have been located better, say in the cross pipe under the bike? Although, Im sure in November here in Ontario its gonna give me some much needed heat. Any goofball can walk up and turn the power on my bike by pressing the button with the large power symbol on it, im sure its fine but I just dont like the idea of it. Seem like the fob should be in range backed up with a hidden switch. Looks super kool though. Finally, I couldnt be more proud to own this rare luxury motorcycle. Certianly the fines motorbike I have ever had the pleasure to own and ride. Get yourself one, you will not forget it. These bikes are beautiful asphalt eating machines. Thanks Polaris.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even more enjoyable to ride than I expected This bike fits so well and is very good for long rides. Slow speed handling is easy and the bike is rock stolid in top gear. The engine is one of the most versatile motors on a motorcycle; great low speed response, mountains of torque when you need it and can cruise at freeway speeds easily at relaxed rpms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Many bikes, first Indian I've ridden many bikes in my time, from Bonneville's to BMW. This bike has the best handling and riding position of any of them. Two up allows for a relaxed trip for two either round to the local store, or long summer days enjoying the view....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New 2020 Springfield I bought this bike in June 2020 and already have 700+ miles. I love this bike. This is my first Indian. I chose the Springfield because of the shorter rake and great handling. Great for short trips and looking forward to my first cross country ride this fall. Rides and handles great. My only suggestions are wishing 1st gear was geared a little lower to ease handling in busy parking lots and I will add an oil cooler on my next service, because I have noted heat from the engine when riding in 90 degree days. I would definitely recommend this bike.

My words can't do this bike justice. Take one for a test ride. I am so happy that I bought this bike and am looking forward to many years of adventures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SUPERB MOTORCYCLE Everything about my 2020 Springfield is superb (except one thing, below). The handling is outstanding. The power delivery with the ride modes is outstanding. Comfortable riding position. Beautiful to look at, it's a work of art. The only downside is the extreme buffeting caused by the windshield.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike for country roads or inerstates ! This is my second Indian Springfield model. I purchased my first one when Indian introduced them in 2016 and now I own a 2020 model. I previously owned a Harley Road King and it was a great bike,I thought, until I road my Springfield!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what the rider ordered!!! Just an awesome bike! Smooth ride with just the right amount of features. Plenty of get up and go all with the nimble handling of a smaller bike! Only thing I would like to see improved os the handle bars for those of us with short arms. Got the reduced reach and they were worse than the stock because all though they brought the controls back 2 inches the the grips themselves didn’t and the change in grip angle now required engagement of the shoulders. Ended up taking the stock bars and getting 3inches added to the straight section, rechromed, and now they are perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort. reliability and Power People are amazed when I tell them I ride over 20000 kilometres per season and all pleasure. Purchased my 2017 Indian Springfield Thunder Black brand new in April 2018 and what a pleasure it is from the ride and the feeling I get after the ride, something like "Its a great time to b alive!" Riders out there will know exactly what I mean :-). Thank you Indian/ Polaris.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible After taking a year to research what i wanted to have in a motorcycle. Only one motorcycle was going to be for me. We welcomed a 2019 Springfield jade green over thunder black into our family. From ride one this thing was way past my expectations. For such a smooth ride it’s just way more sporty than i will ever need. This is the first 800lb motorcycle I’ve owned. It steers so easy and seams light on its tires. I’ve only put 1000 miles on so far. Looking forward to traveling longer over night trips to make good use of the saddle bags. This machine has amazing fit and finish. I just need to tell Indian motorcycles I’m so happy with my motorcycle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Keeper I started with a 2015 Scout and discovered I liked touring, so I traded up and for a Chieftain. I must have gotten one made on a Monday after a holiday weekend. Nothing but issues. Traded it in for a Moto Guzzi MGX-21. Wild bike, but no dealers, not a good idea for touring. Went back to Indian because I just love the looks, performance, style. I read the reviews on the Springfield and decided this bike was the perfect mix of old and new. I picked it up about 80 miles from home and I instantly feel in love. The seating position is so comfortable, The handle bars top off a perfect riding position for me. The windshield could be a hair higher, but whats a little wind in the face. As I shifted through the gears I instantly remembered that Thunder Stroke torque. Zipping along on the Garden State Parkway was easy. The true test of the bike was when I went from NJ to Colorado last summer. Hitting the twisties this bike really showed off its DNA. That riding position came in handy as you could steer with 1 finger on each grip. Very responsive and the tires stuck like glue. We hit Utah and the desert and the bike just ate up the miles. I plan on hitting the Jack Daniels BBQ this fall and cant wait to ride the Dragon and see what fun we can have. The fit and finish is top notch, and I like the improvements to the controls since my 2015 Chieftain. I also appreciate the much improved reliability. This bike will not be traded in the foreseeable future. Rubber side down my friends

Indian Springfield Dark Horse
Starting at $23,499 US MSRP
2022 Indian Springfield Dark Horse Black Smoke is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 177.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love being part of the Indian community At 46, I thought I’d be with Harley-Davidson forever. Then the day came that my loyalty to Harley-Davidson was not returned by Harley-Davidson. That day I left the HD dealer/service department and drove to my local Indian dealership. “Just to look”, I told myself... within five minutes of looking at the beautiful machines and digging into the history of this amazing part of American motorcycle history I was hooked! Then, I saw this machine... that was it! I was all in on Indian. The looks I get and the number of people who ask about this classic inspired ride is phenomenal! I LOVE MY INDIAN!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected My last bike was a Yamaha Virago over 30 years ago. I was a little concerned about the weight. I shouldn't have been. Very comfortable with a low center of gravity. I got the red seat package as well as highway bar and passenger boards. Just waiting for the windshield and running lights. Didn't make me too happy. I think the weight may have had something to do with me escaping possible injury or worse. One of those plastic totes (16X24X16 quesstimate) fell out of the truck ahead of me (doing speed limit, 70 mph, and back a ways. No tailgating). It's bouncing, I'm guessing which way is it going. I guessed right but not right enough. I clipped it going about 70. My foot was resting on the highway peg attached to the highway bar. The hit knocked my foot off the peg, but the bike reacted like Rocky..."Is that the best you got!" And it didn't even flinch. After a minute I looked down and saw that the rubber floorboard pad was gone. I didn't go back to look. When I got home, I saw the bar AND the bolt attaching it to the frame was bent so far back that the floorboard was resting on the highway bar. I'm alive and kicking. I credit the bike to a large degree.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Ride I like the way the bike looks and handles. I get a lot of looks when I'm riding. The bike feels light and smooth. Corners nice. I like the 116 C.I. engine. It responds quickly. I like the sound of the engine. I like key fob and the fact that you can automatically lock the bags.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A rare gem in my neck of the woods I have only had this dark horse for two months and have have loved every minute of it. It’s well balanced, great for me at 5’8”. People continue to seem amazed by it when I pull up next to them. Saddlebag fits a small soft yeti cooler perfectly. Really well lit for night rides. Have 600 miles on it so far and wake up every day hoping to get another ride in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome bike I love this bike only issues is lack of horsepower and 4000 room limit. Other issues is fuel gauges are estimate, always almost a gallon left of 5.5 tank but everything says empty and does not match trip milage . Wish horn button was easier to reach, too close to light switch. The big power button and the ignition switch should be ONE,would like to see side panels fit better so I don't see gaps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth finish Every time i look at my bike in the garage, i find more details to it that i hadn't seen before, stainless steel brake lines name placards with indian stamped on it. The dark horse in Thunder smoke is such a nice look with very few glossy parts that it balances well from one black to the next. Such a smooth ride & a head turner. As mean as this bike looks it has the power to back it up. Coming from street bikes for 18 years transitioning to this cruiser wow the power does not let you down, the balance from a big cruiser on this bike is phenomenal. You need to take a test ride.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Springfield Dark Horse I was out of riding for almost 40 years. I bought a Kawasaki EN650 Vulcan back in early 2019. Took the 2-day MSF and was off and running again. Rode that back for one year and then made the jump to Indian. I have not been disappointed in any of the experiences. The staff at Mall of Georgia Indian were great and the bike quality and looks are still amazing to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall just an amazing bike. Ive owned many other cruisers, including Yamaha, Honda, Sazuki, and Harley; and this is by far my favorite cruiser. Tons of power, rides smooth, looks great, great features, etc

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phenomenal Motorcycle In the 5-6 weeks of owning my Springfield DH, I have put on ~1400 miles and not a single mile has disappointed. I'm a "no frills" kind of guy and expect everything on my bike to directly relate to performance. This motorcycle EXCELS at that! Indian has made a beast of a bike in this 2020 model.
Date published: 2020-04-14
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dark Horse its the one I last bought a new bike upon return from Gulf war. I enjoyed it and rode it from East to West coast. This Dark horse I just bought exudes an increased level of technical features, smooth engine and style I admire more than the leading competitor. I expect this to be my last bike and to ride it eventually the entire 4 corners of our great country.
Date published: 2020-04-03

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike Bought a month ago - Winter in Ohio so haven't ridden much but in the first 200 miles I love it. Traded in a 2018 Scout, which I loved also but didn't have room in the garage for both.
Date published: 2020-03-05
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Indian I bought the 2019 Springfield Darkhorse to complement my Chief Vintage that I’ve owned for 3+ years. Having both now is great. They are the same but different. The shorter wheelbase and steeper rake on the Springfield gives it quicker steering and a lighter feel. Both have the 111 engine but are mapped different. My Vintage is black with tan leather and my Springfield is white smoke. I put the 5 inch shorter tinted Jack Daniels windshield on the Springfield. Locking bags on the Springfield. I love both and it’s fun having a choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ride and power I ride (and love) a 2016 Springfield. The new model feels similar, but the 116 motor is so much more powerful. They set me on the ride mode of touring, and the around town riding was very similar to my own bike. The difference came when I got to the highway and accelerated. There was a lot of power, which continued in every gear and at every RPM. Very fun ride. The controls felt smooth. Only complaint was that I prefer a windshield at highway speeds (it was a cold day!).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2020 Chieftain 3 month review, I love my ride. I would submit there are too many positives to list only negative is the Ride Command, the software is restricted and features like GPS and MPG are absent. I recommend all Indian crusers come with full Ride Command.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love riding this bike I bought this a little over a month ago and have loved riding it from day one. It handles excellently and accelerate smoothly. Shifting was a little choppy at first but has smoothed out since. Very happy and I get lots of compliments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent handling and ride quality Had my 2019 Indian Chieftain for 2 months after having a Suzuki Boulevard C109R for 9 years. I’m glad I made a excellent choice and not follow the typical crowd of buying a Harley Davidson. I’ve received so many compliments.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from BROKEN BRAND NEW - NO KNOWN CAUSE I purchased my 2019 Chieftain on April 25, 2020. It has been a chore since then. Before I even sat on it, there were two safety recalls. The first was for a gear position sensor which let's the bike know whether or not it is in N (Neutral) position. Apparently, the bike would default to shut down if it doesn't know what gear position it is in. The second was a 10 AMP circuit breaker. This will also shut the bike off during operation which could result in a crash. The day I bought it, they did the warranty recall for the position sensor. The other bad part was supposed to have been replaced in January 2020, which I found out later. So, me and bike were going to become good friends for many thousands of miles to come. However, before the 500 mile break in oil change, the bike shut off multiple time during riding without cause. I took it to the dealership and they rebooted the software in hopes this would work. The oil change was done right around 500 miles, less than 600 it continuously shut down without cause. I took it back a second time and they wiped the software and did another fresh download. It didn't make it to the next day riding after work and it shut down about every 200 yards. I was 12 miles from the house, so the limp home was painful and embarrassing. It was Memorial weekend and no joy. When I called the dealership, they said they would have to look at it again and perhaps have to contact Polaris. The earliest they could get me in would be June 15. So now I have not even made the first payment, I have 680 miles on it and now it is not safe to operate let alone operate at all without shutting down. I checked all the pieces I can check, cables, loose bolts to the battery and ground. The battery itself, I even tried to ride it with no music or Bluetooth connection, but nothing helped. So, my confidence with this bike is very low. I did want to add the staff at my dealership has been outstanding with all this and hope they can resolve this matter. Having a broken brand new bike is not my idea of a good investment of my leisure time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Came from Harley After Riding Harleys for years I wanted a change, and Indian has really stepped up their game. Took my chieftain for a long ride across 3 states and was comfortable the entire time. Minus a small software issue with the radio not keeping presets still waiting for that update.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike I bought the bike in March. I'll I'd ridden for 30 years was Harley-Davidson. The bang for the buck combined with power and comfort is awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Serious riding machine I purchased this bike in March of 2020, I have put 300 miles on it since (5/15/20). I have enjoyed every single mile immensely. This is a machine built to ride. Comfort, handling, power, speed, and it turns heads where ever it rolls.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Impressed After 2 decades on Harleys, Im very impressed. This bike is so smooth and powerful. The only complaint is the EPA restricted stock tune. But thats not Indians fault

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The best! I've only ridden about 600 miles due this hole pandemic thing, but they have been great. This is an excellent machine, I love the handling, the look, the sound system, I like it all. I have the Chieftain basic, so I'm missing the remote locking bags and TPMS (I added GPS). But still love love love this bike.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exceptionally smooth and powerful ride This is my first bike. I did the Basic riders course on a 250 and then jumped to thos beast. It rides and handles great even for a novice like me. It has enough power that I haven't even pushed ot yet but will get up and go as fast as you want. It sounds good, but wish the sound had a little more attitude to it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome cruiser I purchased my 2016 chieftain about a year and a half ago. It was my dream bike and I knew one day I would own one. My previous bike was a 2010 Nomad and I never really loved it because it felt heavy. Oddly enough the chieftain is heavier but doesn’t feel like it. The bike is a joy to ride, smooth and powerful. I always get second looks from people when I’m out riding. Indian makes the best looking machines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth and Powerful! I own an older Goldwing, and this bike has comparable ride. The Indian excels in power and driveability. The route they took us on was a good combination backroads. Then back on the freeway. A much longer ride than l expected. I gave it low score on the sound alone. The sound was good, just a little too quiet for my tastes.
Date published: 2019-10-02
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great bike, but to hot I love the handling, love the comfort. I did not like the amount of heat I could feel from the motor while riding. I also feel the front wing needs to be slightly larger to eliminate wind noise.

Chieftain Dark Horse
Starting at $28,499 US MSRP
2022 Chieftain Dark Horse Black Smoke is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 416.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth ride I bought this in March and I can’t wait to get home after work to ride it again
Date published: 2021-05-06
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smooth ride, sleek look, awesome features. I was on the hunt for a fairing bike, and this bike has all the features a person could need, along with a smooth ride. The sleek look of the fairing, 100W sound system, and locking saddle bags, this is a great bike for the price point and features. The only thing that needs to change is the sound system needs more bass, and the retractable windshield needs to go slightly higher for the wind to go over a persons head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the bike I really love the bike, just wish the 3 dealers that I have checked with to service it or fix the rear tire pressure sensor that has not worked since it had zero miles on it were not so busy putting new bikes in service. A shame I buy a 30 thousand dollar bike and no one can get it in for a first service in less than a month

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall I purchased this bike a little Over a month ago and have put on just shy of 2 thousand miles. This bike is so fun and easy to ride. As soon as I park it I feel the need to get back on it and take it for a spin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bike with one issue. I owned and traded in a 2018 Springfield DH. The bike was perfect on so many levels. I was at the fork in the road wether to do a BBK or upgrade into a new bike. I settled on a new chieftain because of the Nav, radio, blah blah blah. It's a great bike, a sexy bike! The only issue I have is the RIDE COMMAND. The auto day/night feature gets stuck. The dealers aren't really wanting to look at it, they say just change it manually. That's great and all but I bought a brand new bike, an expensive bike and I expect it to perform with ALL the features. I'm still waiting on getting it in to have it "looked at". Overall I love this bike with the one issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful wicked machine The more I ride this thing the more I love it , pack with raw power, unmatched style , and extremely nimble. The only problem I have with it is trying to get away from the gas pumps , because someone always wants to sit and talk about how awsome the bike is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing upgrade! Bought this Daytona Bike week, the dark horse is amazing. Wish I would have done it sooner. I went from a 2016 Scout my first bike to 2020 Chieftain. Enjoying it. My friends with other bikes are jealous of the display, music system and the auto windshield.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ergonomics and power. Bought it last month the ergonomics and power are great for long rides. Style and handling in my opinion stands alone. Sounds much better with true Rinehart duels and mufflers, a small difference in delivery of power...but HP and torque while rolling the throttle on are virtually the same.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rollin Thunda! I bought this bike 6 weeks ago and I love it! I am impressed with the style, power, and stability of this bike. I really feel comfortable in the turns and the curves. The ride command is robust, the bags are spacious, and I just do not have any complaints. The sound from this Chieftain is a lot deeper, vs the Challenger btw.... The stock power and sound does not require any upgrades, IMO.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Motorcycle yet!!!! Previous HD owner, and wow!!! Indian’s have such better balance, shifting, parts, and technology over Harley’s. The ride command is amazing, love the adjustable windscreen and already have cams, exhaust, and mid rise bars on it!!! Great product, great company, great dealerships!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent bike all around I bought my 2021 Indian Chieftain dark horse about a month and a half ago and I have zero regrets. Awesome feel, comfort, power and sound. Indian has knocked it out of the park with their design and attention to detail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing machine, rides great, feature packed I bought my 2021 Chieftain Dark Horse a week ago, I put 400 miles on it my first weekend. I am still learning this bike, but overall: I absolutely love it! It is extremely agile for its size and weight, the adjustable windshield is great. Plenty of power, adjustable rear air shock, and well thought out handle bar controls. Some features of ride command (route planning specifically) leave much to be desired. Apple car play took a little bit to figure out, but now works just like it does in my truck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike with a lot of bottom power I bought this bike 2 years ago coming from a Victory XCT and figured I should stick with Polaris. Though I love the bike I have two hangups..... First the stupid speed limiter !!! I am very capable to figure how fast I want to go and its sometimes faster then 174 km/h Second...its not really a fitting bike if you are over 6 feet tall. Even with the extended reach seat its like riding a kids bike for my feeling. Hence the reason I just traded it for a Challenger which indeed is way more like a Victory XCT and is perfect for taller riders.
Date published: 2021-02-19
Rated 5 out of 5 by from character and great power I bought the chieftain Dark Horse because I could not by a new Indian anymore, Off course I understand that its not a Victory (I am 6.4) which is perfect for a tall guy. The chieftain DH though has character and I love the deep rumble coming from my Level 2 kit. The sitting position (even with an extended seat) could be a bit more roomier for me. The only thing I do not like is that there is a speed limiter on the bike.(176 km.per hour and thats it. There is lots of power left at that speed and the bike is rock solid. Give us a bit more in our own hands Indian. I do not want to be shamed by passing bikes from the other brands !!! Get that fixed INDIAN..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great BIke Love the bike, like driving a BMW Car, but way cooler and much more fun. One downside i have found i sin 2019 model the infotainment system, is not upgradable to Apple car play, which sticks as is not as feature rich in controls without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The right motorcycle I had a hard time deciding between an Indian Chieftain and the HD SG. I looked, researched, and test drive for months before deciding on Chieftain. In all honesty the deciding factors were many, but small personal opinions. I felt like the “other” brand’s sales team were not completely up front about financing terms and the Indian team were completely open and transparent about everything. I felt the other guys were trying to sale me the bike based on the number of shops, not the quality of the bike whereas Indian was all about which bike was best for me. In the long run the sale itself was much less stressful and the sales team were great and patient. The ultimate deciding factor was that my local dealer had received the 21 models and had used a 20 model to accessorize and use in the front window of the shop. The price for the decked out model was nearly the same as the 20HD and the 21 Chieftain, so of course I jumped all over it. The bike itself is amazing. I haven’t ridden in about 20 years and The Chieftain just felt more stable and easy to control for a new rider. I am a fairly big guy at 6’2” and 300lbs so I didn’t feel that a smaller bike was right for me as a starter bike and I was right. I’ve put about 300 miles on it so far around the downtown area as well as small back roads outside of town. I’ve ridden tandem a few times with my wife on the back and honestly can’t feel the difference in the bike’s handling. plenty of power, easy to control, all the “accessories” I could ask for, a soft ride and dependability. Overall just a great motorcycle. You can go wrong with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it! Was initially shopping for an HD when I stumbled across my local Indian dealer. Fell in love with the burnt orange’19 Chieftain Limited Icon Series and after a test ride and some negotiation it ended up in my garage. This thing is a torque monster and the features like Ride Command and the power windshield are nice to have. Just be aware there isn’t that big of an aftermarket for accessories yet so to customize it genuine accessories are the only option for quite a bit of things and they are priced like Indian knows they’re the only good option. Also, the dealer network is a little sparse at the moment, but I expect that to grow with time. So far I’m still loving the bike and have no regrets. The thing still puts a big smile on my face when riding it and I still have to turn around to check it out after getting off of it which means I bought the right bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the bike BUT! I love the bike. Its a smooth ride. It have plenty of power/torque. The sound system is outstanding, it even sound good with the stock exhaust, I have had several comments on how great my Chieftian looks. Overall I am happy with my choice. BUT, Indian made a bike that produces way more heat than it should prompting customers to do two mods ASAP, intake and exhaust. Now those two mods should be a want not a necessity. Of the two only the intake was available. Which brings me to the availability of Indian parts. Weather they are dress up or performance they are ridiculously difficult to find. So if you want a really nice sounding smooth riding bike that turns heads Indian is the one for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks style smooth ride great handling I bought a chieftain limited a little over a month ago. Dealer sells other brands and originally was looking for a Ktm enduro. Checked out and rode an Indian for the heck of it. Could not believe how smooth riding it was and the way it felt like it was on rails in curves after having owned several other American made street bikes. The indian felt lighter weight and rode 100% smoother. Needless to say i ended up with a chieftain and had no intentions of buying when i went to dealership.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stepped up from 2018 Scout Bobber Two years ago I bought an Indian Scout Bobber. The Bobber is a beautiful bike and I really enjoyed it for rides if an hour or less but as an aging rider I wanted more creature comforts. The Chieftain fit the bill. A more upright riding position, music, cruise control, GPS, saddle bags, and fairing all add up to an enhanced riding experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really enjoy the adjustable windshield. Really enjoy the adjustable windshield. Plenty of power and very smooth through six gears. You can see clear in the rearview mirrors in any gear at any speed. Bike is very well built and handles amazing for the size and weight. Really enjoy the standard accessories like key fob to lock saddlebags and GPS along with Bluetooth and USB connections. Should’ve bought This bike along time ago. Love it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great smooth ride Bought the bike 4/15/20, longer frame than most of the Harley's I have been riding around with, which is a smoother ride. They are quick and very well balanced, able to throw the bike around with ease. Do wish the stock exhaust came with a little bit deeper, throatier sound. Biggest downfall to it, aftermarket accessories/parts. Very limited options with fewer locations to buy what you want, sort of started a monopoly when it comes to this aspect, which is very disappointing.
