2022 FTR S White Smoke is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 102.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome motorcyle! I bought this motorcycle a few months ago. I have been looking for something to replace my older motorcycle for about 4 years. When I first seen the FTR 1200S online, I knew it was the motorcycle for me. Indian has done a great job on this motorcycle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this bike! Absolutely love my FTR! My only complaint (and not a big enough complaint to reduce from 5 stats) is the range per tank of gas on this bike. Wish the tank was a little bigger. Would be tough to take it some places in fear of running out of gas. Other than that this thing is amazing! Handles great, looks good, and so much power!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from INDIAN FTR 1200 S RACE CARBON My god! What a bike! The FTR wasn't listed so I chose the next best option but this is a review of the FTR. Lemme start by saying, frankly, there was never a single product in the Indian portfolio that would get me into one of their showrooms. That all change when I first saw glimpses of this magical beast. Upon going to the demo, I must say I am quite smitten. The balance, the power, the ergos... Just WOW! You boys did WORK! Phenomenal! The gobs of torque on the low end was guttural and the bike just pulled like a locomotive! I haven't smiled so much at a demo in years! Indian is officially on my radar and I look forward to what comes next!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Complete Fun Bought in April 2020. I am new to motorcycling. After taking a basic rider course, I was on this the same day. It is so fun to ride. On it nearly every day now. Very well balanced and perfect for a beginner. The power is more than enough for a ride through town or country.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Midlife crisis People always say it's never too late for anything and I'm proof. At the age of 46 I decided to take up riding and this bike is fulfilling that dream

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great handling bike!!! I have a Indian Chief Vintage and now I also have a Scout Sixty ABS. I use the Chief when my wife and I go on trips. When I want to zip around the mountain roads with my buddies, I take the Scout Sixty. It’s FUN FUN FUN!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun Bike Sharp looking super fun to ride and a great handling bike. I did my first oil change and it was very easy to do.
Date published: 2020-06-12
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is a little machine with a lot of heart. I wanted an Indian, but also a lightweight bike that sat low enough I could be comfortable on, I'm not disappointed in my choice. The only thing that disappoints me is the lack of accessories available to the 60 as compared to the other bikes. The Indian Scout 60 is a sleeper, don't be fooled by its' size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very smooth ride I have always bought harleys but I thought I would try an indian because I liked the looks of the scout sixty and I am glad I did smoothest ride ever very nice design and alot of the latest technologies with the old school look

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soooooo smooth! I have loved Indians since is was young. After many years of not riding I found myself finally having the time and I wandered into the dealer (Headingley Sport Shop in Headingley, Manitoba, Canada. Sales guy Mitch was very knowledgeable, patient and helpful. I settled on a Scout Sixty - the smallest and most basic model but I liked the look and the simplicity. Option seat to push me back 2”, option controls to move my feet 2” forward and option 2 into 1 chrome exhaust. Burgundy metallic (my daughter calls it “midlife crisis red”)! Easiest riding bike I have ever been on. Maybe not the right machine for long highway runs but it is perfect for the casual rider in and outside the city.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality and Smooth Ride Have had my Scout Sixty for 2 months. Tried several bikes before going with the Scout, overall better finish work, balance, and options for the price of the others. Best of all, love the style of this bike. Lots of compliments on this sexy bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my Indian I love, love, love this bike, quick acceleration, turns on a dime, no two inch heels required. Some reviews indicate this is a great beginner bike and because of the quick throttle I would have to disagree, but, if you have some experience riding or know to be careful off the line I say go for it. I love the simplicity and the look of the bike. no fussy features, idiot light for gas a bike without too much instrumentation which I love. The only two negatives are, the seat is not comfortable for long distance riding and the kick stand does not swing out far enough to make me feel confident on any downhill grade. Both these issues are easily fixed. I would recommend this bike for any height challenged people who want a retro looking bike which gets lots of compliments.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun to ride Bought my Scout 60 a couple months ago, Its got plenty of power and looks amazing, rides great. The buying experience was good too). My only negatives were that there wasn't a heal shifter available for it and the windscreen doesn't do as much for reducing noise as others i have had on other bikes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike with ABS without breaking the bank... I was looking to get back into riding after a nearly five year break due to an auto-auto accident. I had always wanted an Indian, ever since I was a kid, and I was surprised to find that they were quite affordable. I picked up the Scout Sixty to be my daily driver, though with the lockdown I haven’t put a ton of miles on it yet. It’s a great bike for getting around. I’m a big guy, read heavy, and this bike not only fits me well it hauls me around with nary an effort. Most importantly when I’m on the highway it still has more to give should I need to overtake.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing motorcycle! I am beyond happy with this motorcycle. The handling, cornering and gear shifting is incredibly smooth. Comfortable seat position and the handlebar reach is natural. The fender rounds out the sharp look and natural lines of the bike. This is a powerful bike without being intimidating with responsive breaking system and easy throttling. Note: I ended up ordering the reduced reach kit for the break and gear shifter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First bike ever, awesome I bought this motorcycle in mid February of this year, 2020. So far, it's been an amazing experience. Certain things I would change is add a windscreen, like the Dart Marlin to keep the wind from blasting your stomach and chest. Another would be the seat, switch it out to something more comfortable if you plan on riding for any extended period. The clutch is very forgiving for new riders. It's fairly lightweight, low to the ground and quite balanced. It doesn't take much for a new rider to become confident in their ability to keep it upright at stops. I'm 5' 10" and I not only flat foot, but my knees have quite a bend when my feet are on the ground. The bike seems to be well made. Keep in mind that the Scout Sixty will NOT come with a USB charger, but the speedometer DOES have a place to place it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome styling, ride and value! I bought this bike in December 2019 after not riding for a few years. I am so happy I made this decision. Hands down the Scout sixty is the best value in the motorcycle game cruiser wise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE the bike, BUT So I purchased my bike on the last day of 2019. It was actually my very first bike purchase and I had done my homework. I was wanting to go Harley at first but realized it was going to be out of the budget, so when I came across the Indian I realized that this was going to be the route to go, especially since I heard they had a good reputation. Most of the deal was done over the phone and texts with my sales rep. He serviced me well and answered all my questions. Once they told me I was approved I went to the store to pick it up and I fell in love instantly. The bike rides great, even beyond my expectations. I do know that I was paying more then I should and I felt like they could have given me a better deal, but I was so happy with the bike that I was alright with paying more. I did have a pleasant surprise when they gave me a $500 dollar credit when they found out that I was a veteran. So with that credit I ended up getting a passenger seat, helmet and gloves. However, when I was shopping for these accessories, I started noticing that their gear was incredibly overpriced, almost ridiculously over priced, but again, I didn’t complain because they gave me the credit. The one thing that annoyed me though was that the rep had told me that my first tune up and oil change at 500 miles was FREE. When I hit those miles, I called service to set it up and they wanted to charge me almost $400 bucks. Needless to say I wasn’t happy about it at all, in fact I made it a point to explain to them that the sales rep had told me this. They then proceeded to tell me that they couldn’t honor that. So, I ended up taking it to a very reputable bike shop in San Bernardino where they charged me only $150. It kind of left a bad taste in my mouth because I do business with people on how they treat me. I am a man of my word and expect the same in return when they tell me something. It also made me wonder how the dealership can charge $400 bucks for service but then get the same service some place else for way cheaper. I know dealerships are all about making as much money as possible, but they should also not try to gouge people when servicing or selling parts. People will notice and go elsewhere for those kind of things. I have actually been ordering after market parts on line due to the fact that the dealership is overpriced. With that being said, I am not unhappy with the purchase. The bike is my new love and I am truly happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really REALLY nice bike My second bike. Rode a Kawasaki 500 for 8 years, wanted a "bigger" bike. Wrestled with all the options, settled on the 60. I love it. Its fast, its nimble, it's not a "girls bike" or a "starter bike". This is a legit cruiser. I have gotten so many compliments on its looks. It is an absolute blast to ride. Super quick but balanced. If you're considering one, get one!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing first motorcycle I bought this Scout just over a month ago as my first motorcycle, and have already put in 900 miles. I am six feet tall, and actually love how low it is. It feels very stable and I am never worried that it will tip over. I am also glad I went with the regular Scout and not the Scout Sixty or anything less powerful. At first, it sounded like this engine would be too powerful for a first motorcycle, but I grew into it responsibly. "Responsibly," as in I already took it up to 100 mph. This this purrs, then she growls ... she's like a panther! I am so excited to grow older with this motorcycle. I only put on highway bars, and do not any other accessory at this time. She takes corners really well, and have yet to scrap a peg (knock on wood). Indian, you all hit this out the park! Please never stop producing the Scout!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Ride I’ve always loved the old school look of the Indian bikes. I was shocked at how comfortable and smooth the ride is. It’s low center of gravity makes it feel like a much lighter bike. Super easy to handle and lots of horsepower. Absolutely love this bike!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Funtastic bike Yes, it is a funtastic motorcycle, a life changing experience for me. I've been riding for 30+ years, never owning a bike of my own.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect One month and over 1k miles, and I couldn't be much happier with my purchase. I am 6ft tall and will be changing over to the factory mini ape bars. I'm keeping the seat for now cause its comfy enough and looks great. I swapped the 30 pound mufflers for 2 pound shorty's that sound great. The 1 problem that keeps this from being perfect... before my break in was done (around 300 miles), the crank position sensor nailed and I had to tow twice to get it home and then to the shop. Awesome service and warranty coverage aside, this should not happen at all. BUT... running perfectly and looks, sounds, feels amazing. Beautiful piece of Americana.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Bike After a lifetime of riding leaking, rattling, vibrating, loud,no brakes,no lights motorcycles. This bike is a joy. Feels and handles lighter than it is. Is very powerfull but Quiet. Brakes are great. Only things I dont like about it are,no place to store registration or anything when bags arent on it. No provision to lock it up,no fork lock, and the seat is not very comfortable after 40 miles or so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit for me I went from a very heavy and bulky Vstar Deluxe 1300 to my Indian Scout. I am a very small frame person but with long legs. The Vstar was too heavy for me and because of health reasons I was no longer able to hold it up. I tried the Scout and it was like riding a feather. I don't struggle with this bike. I don't feel like I am fighting the bike. I absolutely love this bike. I was amazed at the power it has. I worried I was giving up power by going to a smaller bike but I was very wrong. The Scout has so much more pep and horse power than the Vstar did!!!!!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful bike , right bike for me. Got about 300 miles on it. One thing is riding position. I have reduced reach handlebars which are still a little short ,need another 2 inches or so. I like my back to be straight. Going for another handlebar which should do it. Keep in mind I am 5 foot 10 inches tall. Go figure. Besides that the bike is great.

2022 Scout Bobber Black Metallic is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 636.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from First motorcycle I’m completely happy with the bike, only problem I have is with the seat. Maybe it’s me being a new rider and all, but I’ve had this bike for about two months now and ride it nonstop. But when I take excessive trips, I would say over three hours, the seat becomes highly uncomfortable. Understanding that I can get a new seat but just putting it out there. Other then that, I get nothing but compliments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best choice I made I bought this 10 months ago and am so happy I did! This rides smoothly and even though I chose a smaller bike cause I'm very short, the power is still there. I commute an hour on this and it's still comfortable for the long rides. Also still agile enough for the winding roads I live in. I got this in the Thunder black and man do I turn heads on this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome ride I cannot get over just how great this bike looks, even sitting still. It's an absolute joy to ride and a wonderful commuter. It's not flawless by any means, the stock seat is one of the most uncomfortable things I've sat on and the stock exhaust leaves much to be desired, but these issues were fixed with aftermarket solutions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome handling and looks amazing I bought this bike a little over a month ago, and I'm so happy with it. It looks amazing and I get compliments everywhere I go. It handles amazing on corners, has lots of power, and is light enough I can push it around with no issues. For reference I'm 5'4" tall and I had to order handlebars for it because the stock ones I find are to far forwards for my height, but otherwise the bike is very comfortable for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my bike so much! I absolutely am in love with my motorcycle. I am a 5’3” woman so it is hard to find a bike that is short enough for me, but this is perfect. The colors are gorgeous and it is so fun to ride, I never want to stop. My only complaint is that there is no gas gauge but I have gotten in the habit of using my trip to keep track of when I need to fill up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bike. Hard to find accessories. Awesome bike. It’s my first motorcycle and I do love it. Reason for my 4 star is it’s been very hard to find simple upgrades and accessories for it. I ordered handlebars and can’t find extensions cable kits. I tried upgrading seat but apparently this new year doesn’t fit a lot of seats for previous years. Indian website is pretty much sold out of everything all the time. I was looking forward to tricking out my bike and hoping it be a lot easier then this but it’s not. My buddy has an iron 883 and he has zero problems finding accessories.

The seat the stock seat .I refer to it as A one cheek seat. 20 miles and it is not comfortable to sit on anymore The stock exhaust well it did not stay stocked very long. I drilled out the first plug in the baffle. And then the second plug . Was not happy with that . And cut it in half . For a modded look . In the stock form the pipes hang out past the rear wheel . I was still not happy with the look I felt they were too big around. So I put some GP shorties on it for the look I like. The seat was replaced I have a spring rod tractor seat now. And you only get about 100 miles out of a tank before the light starts blinking and it’s going to hold about 3 gallons. That’s not very good fuel mileage. In the past I had a V Twin cruiser and a luxurious touring 2 wheeler. Currently own a very nice 3 wheeler but missed the feel of a 2 wheels. I did quite a bit of research and decided on the Scout Bobber 20 and have not been disappointed. The bike does what it was designed for.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Room for Improvement Overall I like the motorcycle. However, I think Indian missed the mark on a few details, especially considering they label themselves as a premium brand. It is ridiculous that in 2021 they couldn't put a gas gauge on the motorcycle. The horn is no better than one that is found on a moped or scooter. Accessories are difficult to find - Indian seems to be out of everything. I came from riding the other American brand and I am a little disappointed in these oversights. Seriously considering going back. I can only blame myself for not paying attention to these details before making the purchase - lesson learned.

It’s a great ride for day trips, and even some reasonable king hauls. Comfort is what I expected, so pleased with that. Only issue I have is the check engine light comes on randomly, and the gear selector goes blank when it does. Luckily I’m use to not having a gear selector but still concerning that the check engine is on and the dealership can’t seem to find out why. Not really a good answer in my opinion. 5 start of it wasn’t for the weird abs frequent check engine issue. I don’t like unexplained engine flags. Stick exhaust is average, but I changed that out

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great mid size bike I bought this as a second bike to have something a little smaller and easier to ride around town than my larger touring bike. It's fun and nimble with enough power to still have fun. The bars and forward controls are a bit too stretched out for me, but I like the look of the bars, so I wish there was an OEM mid controls option. I will probably throw taller bars on to help with some back strain. For anyone buying one, get a better seat off the bat as the stock one is rough.

I worked closely with the Team at Wolf Motorcycles in London Ontario and they helped me with every aspect including getting a tutor to help me learn. I am so impressed with the comfort and ride and have no issues with longer rides and the quality of the bike always impresses me. I have had other makes in the past but nun compare to my Indian Scout Bobber! This bike punches outside of its weight class and handles as good as any street fighter bike I've ridden. Rides calm when you want it to, but gets up and goes when you nees it to! Great all around motorcycle.

This rides smoothly and even though I chose a smaller bike cause I'm very short, the power is still there. I commute an hour on this and it's still comfortable for the long rides. Also still agile enough for the winding roads I live in. I got this in the Thunder black and man do I turn heads on this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Time Bike Owner-Scout Boobber I have never owned a motorcycle before and at 50yrs old decided to purchase a brand new Indian Scout Bobber. I worked closely with the Team at Wolf Motorcycles in London Ontario and they helped me with every aspect including getting a tutor to help me learn. I am so impressed with the comfort and ride and have no issues with longer rides and the quality of the bike always impresses me. When I spent a day cleaning it i really saw the attention to detail and quality that they put into it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all around bike! Even only after owning the motorcycle for a few months, I must say I am truly impressed! I have had other makes in the past but nun compare to my Indian Scout Bobber! This bike punches outside of its weight class and handles as good as any street fighter bike I've ridden. Rides calm when you want it to, but gets up and goes when you nees it to! Great all around motorcycle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Newly converted Indian fan I am back in the market for a new motorcycle and been test riding bikes at americade. Was not excited about most bikes and then I rode the iIndian Chief Dark Horse. I never rode an Indian before and this bike made me a fan. It was also the professionalism and informativeness of the Indian staff that made this a great experience. My next bike will be an Indian.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent ride! I'm really thinking about purchasing this motorcycle. I get a lot more motorcycle for the money with Indian than with Harley. Great power, smooth ride on the highway and on the back Hill Country roads. I've been shopping for a motorcycle for the past 3 months. Most dealers are very aggressive. I loved the laid back..."let the bike do the talking" approach from the staff at Mission City Indian Motorcycle. Lots of options to meet my style and performance needs! What else is left to say?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding cruiseer I’m 5,10” 230 lbs. this bike fit like a glove. The ergonomics were spot on with great maneuverability and excellent horsepower in an exciting looking package.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great powerplant I really liked the bikes handling and power plant. Thunderstroke is a great engine. The only thing I wish Indian would do is make a more stripped down version similar to main competitor models. Also with more modern styling as an option. That would bring weight down and definitely make me upgrade from mu Victory Octane. I am looking for a bigger model to upgrade in near future and hope Indian will bring such a motorcycle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Test Ride of the Chief Dark Horse® I was stopping by to pick up some parts for my bike and noticed that the had a Demo event going on. So on my way out I walked by to see what they had brought. I've always been a fan of the Dark Horse bikes. The old school look with some nice high tech features. I took the test drive and was not disappointed. It throttled up nicely and felt solid. It takes the curves rather well. I like this particular model mostly because of the no frills, basic look. Even though they have plenty of accessories that you can put on. For me, I like it just the way it is. When I wear out my current bike I plan on getting one of these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing engineering The bike is very well thought out. Controls are simple and accesible. The bars and seat are comfortable. The bike ran smooth and handled beautifully. I really want one! I hated getting back on my Roadglide to head home :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nimble? It turned to be far more nimble than I thought. It feels easier to lean into a corner than my scout. Ride is smooth, it's quite good at eating road inconsistencies. Engine sounds awesome.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Bike The seat is very comfortable, Drivability is great, handles awsome, floorboards are comfortable. I am 5'4 and I can flat foot the ground at a red light. I cannot find one fault with this bike, many aftermarket parts and upgrades available

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great over all This was my first time ever riding an Indian. I was amazed by the way it handle. The power is great and very responsive and over all a great bike. I love how easy it handles turns and curbs. Just a pleasure to ride

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gorgeous Motorcycle I really enjoyed demoing this bike. I was especially impressed with its slow speed handling. Most other big bikes feel awkward turning around in a parking lot, but the Indian was confidence inspiring. Out on the road it was very smooth and developed power right from idle. No need to rev this bike even to 5000 rpm. If I had any complaint it was the heat from the motor sitting at traffic lights. But, hey! this bike was built for the open road.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bike I've Ever Owned I bought this bike back in November. I've always been a Harley rider. I was in the market for a new bike and just couldn't pass up the deal Youngblood PS offered me. I ordered the stage 1 setup with some of the money I saved compared to what I was expecting. Man, it sure has a lot of torque in those lower gears, but there's so much power throughout the range. I can't believe how well it handles...just point and go. It doesn't feel like a 750 lb bike. Everybody at the dealership, especially George and Dakota worked with me on the deal making sure I got just what I wanted. As long as bikes like this are being made I'll never go back to Harley.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Bike and Better Staff! During a quick family trip to New Mexico my twin brother and I noticed the local Indian dealership had a demo day. Being avid bike enthusests from upstate NY we couldn’t pass on the opportunity to experience New Mexico on our favorite means of transportation! The sign up was quick and easy and they even let our wife’s ride with us! We were able to sample several bikes with the amazing staff of Albuquerque, Indian dealership! They even took us on a personal tour ride to ensue we were able to experience an additional bike without our limited amount of time! We can’t thank the guys of Albuquerque Indian dealership for being so welcoming to a couple guys looking to get the most out of and opportunistic moment with our wife’s! We will absolutely be looking at the Indian line for our next bikes!

2022 Indian Springfield Maroon Metallic / Crimson Metallic is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 362.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent bike...but I bought this 2017 Springfield new in February 2018. After riding it 7500 miles I feel I can make a honest evaluation of the bike. The looks of the bike are spot on and draws attention and thumbs up everywhere I go. Handling is really good and takes curves like a smaller bike weighing much less. It has lots of power especially in mid range. Sound is great once you install some slip on pipes. Excessive heat from the catalytic converter was unbearable for me. There are aftermarket options to overcome this. Wind buffeting behind the windshield is a problem but fork wind deflectors help. I sometimes remove the windshield and ride with a full face helmet. This is like having another bike to choose from. Warranty has covered a cracked windshield and a bad voltage regulator. This bike has a lot of good things going for it and over all I like and enjoy the bike. But... the one thing I really don't like about the Thunderstroke engine is the excessive valve train noise from 1800 to 2500 rpm. This is where the engineers let something pass that they should have eliminated in the beginning. Using the windshield holds this noise around your head and is irritating to me. I guess between loud pipes and earplugs I will live with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I never thought I would switch My Springfield rides like a fine Paint Mare but much easier to clean up after.
Date published: 2019-08-15
Rated 3 out of 5 by from I enjoyed the guided ride. I enjoyed the guided ride, but I did find it not being able to see the front wheel or fender at all distracting. Also the distance from the ground to the footboards I find higher than on my heritage Softail. I like the speedometer and all the information available on that face. Being honest with you I do not think that I will be purchasing an Indian. I am sort of disappointed about that because I have a friend that has five or six old Indians and he swears by them .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Exhilaration I've had my 2017 Springfield for 29 months now and have 23,500 miles on her. And all that in Utah with our limited riding seasons. Great bike. I'd like to have five different bikes in the garage for whatever mood I might be in on a particular day, but that's not possible; so, versatility was the key for me. With the removable windshield and hard bags, in a moment I can head out on a sleek muscle cruiser; yet with everything thing on, I have a worthy cruiser. I think it's extremely important to really ask yourself why you ride or are wanting to ride in the first place. For me, it's the freedom, if I needed to use just one word. It's the sensation of floating or flying and just forgetting all of the demands of this world that seem to be pressing in every day. This bike is worth every penny. And my wife has learned to love the fresh perspective that I come home with after a ride. One final thought: you hear some express concerns over the weight. If all you do is sit on this bike at a dealership, it will seem a bit heavy; but I seem to remember women feeling the same way about big SUVs in the 90s before actually driving and learning that you could practically steer them with one finger. It's not heavy, and you need to actually ride this awesome bike. Lastly, you hear some talk about the heat, especially off of the rear cylinder. I ride in Utah where summer temperatures routinely push over 100 degrees. I've been on this bike in stop-and-go traffic in those temps. Do I feel the heat? Yes. It's a classic American v-twin. But is it painful, or unbearable? No. I can only say that if you use either one of these as a sole criterion for not buying this bike, that would be a real shame.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike Took the Springfield Dark Horse for the Demo ride. Even in Standard mode the throttle response was quick. This bike had great power delivery, a smooth motor and a smooth comfortable ride. Fit and finish was excellent. The only draw back was the heat from the rear cylinder.
Date published: 2019-07-09
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good bike but not for me I liked the power, handling and brakes of the Springfield and the bike is great looking. Unfortunately, the cockpit is too large for me. The reach to the handlebars caused my back muscles to cramp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome ride! I test rode the Chieftain and Springfield, and while the Chieftain has more creature comforts, the Springfield has a far superior ride. I could ride the Springfield all day.....and perhaps never come home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well built, very smooth ride, good power The Springfield is very nice. It rides very well on rougher roads. Has plenty of power and the electronics tell the rider everything they need to know. I don't sit as low in the bike as my current bike, so I was a little less comfortable. I think a driver backrest would help with the comfort, although overall I was comfortable during the test ride. Overall, I great bike.
Date published: 2019-06-30
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprisingly good power and handling. I was surprised by the power and ease of riding this bigger cruiser. I am not used to forward controls but quickly learned to manage. The only distraction was the tall windshield that forced me to look through it. That would be something to change.
Date published: 2019-06-30
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than anything else 21 k and two years later. Can't find fault. Tested them all. BMW, Honda and Harley. Those 3 couldn't touch it for ride and comfort or power. And Indian Springfield beat them in price. Harley lists a cheaper Road king with no extras. Once you get it up to Springfield standards it's 25K.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome bike I’ve had 10 bikes and my favorite was always my road king, until now. This bike is a road king on steroids. I had to make a few personal changes to the bike, like beach bars and a floor board lowering kit but now it’s as perfect as a bike can be.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not my style I liked the bike but I'm not used to a cruiser style bike. It was comfortable but felt sluggish compared to my bike. I think a Speedmaster would do almost everything this bike can do for a lot less $.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bike Loved the ride and the bike. It was a little hot next to the engine, but that may have been because it had been risen for several hours on demo. Either way, it handles amazing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Springfield Aweful Wind Buffeting for Passenger Sorry to say we traded our Yamaha Touring Bike in for a new 2018 Springfield and I hate it. Would not recommend at all if your going to have a passenger. It is debilitating pain for at least two days afterwards. We have spent alot money and time and no relief. Depressed I won't be able to ride after all the money to purchase. Don't buy without trying it first at all speeds. At home recovering from short ride yesterday in tears.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really nice ride I did a demo ride one of these models today at a poker run in Escondido, CA. It was the first time I’d ridden an Indian, I was impressed with the ride and feel of the bike, only issue I could see having is the width of the floor boards, for me they feel a little narrow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a seriously versatile and cool ride! I was determined to replace my 2007 Kawasaki Nomad with an Indian Springfield or a H-D Road King. I am a cruiser/bagger rider. This bike felt right and stole my 40 years of riding heart right away. It basically sold itself. It has power and torque to spare, looks great, and handles well. This baby is gonna be with me a while, and she's gonna get a lot of TLC, and see a lot of action. Eventually she will get custom paint because she is worth it. I would like her a little louder, but she growls nice.

My knees felt like they were pushing into my chest when I had my feet resting on the floorboards and it also sorely needed a heel shifter (did I just not see it?). The top of the windshield was directly in my line of sight and I experienced intense buffeting above 35mph to the point that it was very uncomfortable. The speedometer is way too low on the tank so I had to look down to check the display which takes my eyes off of the road. I'll stick with my Scout. It may not have the size and weight that would be ideal for long slab rides but I can stretch out, see my speedo without lowering my head and ride buffeting-free until above 70mph.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Upgraded air and exhaust I have a dark horse and wanted to try ape hangers and stage 1 air cleaner
Date published: 2019-06-23
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2019 Springfield Darkhorse I took one of these out today on a demo ride. It was outfitted with probably the tallest ape hangers Indian offers (unlikely aftermarket on a demo bike) as they were definitely more than shoulder height on me. I had it in sport mode which definitely provided plenty of pep in its step partnered with at least the Stage 1 exhaust and high flow air cleaner (unsure if had Stage 2 cams). No complaints, smooth ride, plenty of power, and no faring blocking the road ahead of me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really liked the riding modes Nice bike, lots of features that I’m interested in but, wished it was water cooled.
Date published: 2019-06-15
Rated 4 out of 5 by from decent Power on the bike I rode was good. Employee told me it had a stage 3 upgrade. Different power mode was cool, adjustable windshield was cool. Over all look is just ok compared to the bike I currently own.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Plenty of power It was great on the highway and handled well on bac roads. Shifting was stiff, but that at be because it was so new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Ever Indian ride. Exceeded my expectations on every level. Smooth and powerful ride. Only problem, can’t decide between Chief Vintage & Chief Springfield.
Date published: 2019-06-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Demo days test ride I was very curious about this bike. I have a Victory Cross Roads Classic and this is basically what my bike became after the production stop of Victory. The bike was the most comfortable of the 3 that I demoed; Roadmaster, Chieftain LTD, and Springfield. The seat was a bit further back than the other 2 giving me more leg room so I didn't feel as cramped, although still not as much room as my Victory. I would have to go with an extended reach seat to be more comfortable. I also wasn't happy with the position of the instrument cluster. It was positioned to far down on the fuel tank so in order to see it I had to look down and take my eyes off the road to see it. Having it mounted higher on the tank, or as a gauge between the handle bars would be a better spot for it. That way just a quick glance will give you everything you need to see.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This bike has tons of power and torque Took part in the demo ride and this beast was one of the first I got to ride, it is in my top three with the other being the classic and the roadmaster. After riding and discussing with the lead and trail riders whom both are long term indian owners I look forward to putting one of my three selections in my garage

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ride in the rain I took a test ride this afternoon, unfortunately it was raining. I found the Springfield easy to ride and saw it's potential as a long distance friend. However, the rain and the traffic I was riding in made my test ride feel even shorter than it was.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My next bike Rode this at a demo the other day and loved it!!!!
Date published: 2019-06-06
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit I had sat on the Springfield in the showroom and did not like the position of the handlebars. The Demo bike had them set a little higher and fit me perfectly. The windshield blocked enough wind to make the ride comfortable without feeling like I was following a sail. I would have liked the full fenders on this bike

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Springfield Dark Horse The Springfield is super comfortable, smooth, powerful and sexy! Easily my favorite one tested during demo days and the matte white with the blacked out engine is beautiful!
Date published: 2019-06-02
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to ride, even for a girl It's a bit big for me, but I felt I could control it and I felt safe on it. It's a sexy bike and brought a big smile to my face while riding.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it with big bore installed I have been riding my 2017 Chieftain Limited for 2 years this month and still love it.
Date published: 2019-05-31
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Springfield Awesome! This is my second test ride on the springfield. I've been vacillating between two touring models. This nimble quick to respond ride is exceptional in many ways. Impressed with the comfort and position of the controls, the instant throttle response, virtually silent transmission shifting, and of course the style.
Date published: 2019-05-24
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loved the "ride mode" feature...hated the color! Loved the "ride mode" feature...sport mode throttle response was very impressive. Hated the ugly White Horse paint and chrome-less look and instrument gauge. Also, why no crash bars on front and rear like other Springfield's have??? Love my 2015 two-tone red/black Vintage...keeping it!
Date published: 2019-05-19
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Springfield Dark Horse I was really impressed with the sport mode on the new 2019!
Date published: 2019-05-08
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice ride Completed the demo ride on the Dark Horse. Lots of power and comfortable. Prefer ape hanger handle bars than the stock ones on the bike. The bike handles well and nice in the curves

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Snappy Test ride the 116 in Ignacio, great throttle response in sport mode. Not setup for a 6'3" guy. But fun none the less. Bike seems to run hot, the seat on the chieftain got hot, the Roadmaster was better. Not so hot. And slot more room on the Roadmaster.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent ride with cool features Great ride. For its size, it definitely seemed a little on the heavy size, but it was a great, stable ride. The sound was quite good on the stereo system. Navigation was very nice. This may be my next bike ;-)
Date published: 2019-08-25
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really does the job. Road other V-Twin for 33 years and metric bikes before that, when looking for a new bike I road the different models numerous times, then road the other brand, kept coming back to the Chieftain. Very satisfied with the ride, handling, and ease of operation. Nit-pics

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of great features, smooth power. This was a test ride only. I have a dual sport and an adventure bike now. This was my first cruiser style ride. Low center of gravity, easy handling, good power. Short test ride so I did not get to work all the accessories. This ride has me seriously considering a new Chieftain.
Date published: 2019-08-12
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly Surprised! I test rode this bike while at Sturgis and was immediately in love. I currently rode a H-D Heritage Softail, so I was expecting to feel quite different on this bike. I was immediately comfortable and was surprised that I was almost immediately more comfortable on it than my own bike! My only regret is that I’m not able to buy one right now, but will be in the near future for sure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice ride Great riding bike overall. Rear suspension was a little stiff and still a lot of heat under the seat from the motor, should be vented better. Controls were easily accessible and bike had plenty of power
Date published: 2019-08-08
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Power Took a rest ride at Sturgis. With I would of chosen a larger touring model as I was way to big for the bike that I rode

Date published: 2019-08-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent ride!!! Exceiient power!!! I had a demo ride on Chieftain... Overall, loved the bike!!! Excellent ride, handling, & power!!! Loved the ability to select between Tour, Standard, & Sport modes... Loved the touch screen... The only drawback was that I felt a little cramped... i currently ride a Victory Cross Country w/ plenty room to streach out...But, as I understand a change out of the seat should fix that...

Date published: 2019-08-07
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor fit and finish Not enough power for a 111. Didn’t like the way the handlebars stretched straight back. The gas gauge, power button, and hazard button are huge and look like they cane off a truck.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful but less than expected I took a new dark horse with the 116 big bore kit for a test ride and it was nice. It had a noticeable difference in power from my 111 Roadmaster Classic but I kinda expected a little more. Nevertheless it was still a nice ride.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice ride First time on a Indian. Been looking to purchase one in the near future. Overall ride was good. Great power and handling. I'm 6'2, so it was a bit cramped for me. The glass didn't go high enough to keep my head from getting hammered around. I think a taller glass, lowers and the longer seat would fit perfect.

Date published: 2019-07-21
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adjustable windshield.3 different riding modes. I bought my chieftain a month ago & love it.i only have 1 issue any seems like my 14 chieftain rode smoother over bumps.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice ride Nice ride, but not having a water cooled engine seems archaic to me. And for the price point you can get a water cooled touring bike. With even more features
Date published: 2019-07-20
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Honest review The chieftain I was offered to demo, had a stage two kit installed. The throttle was to sensitive. and the exhaust was to loud. However I kept those things at bay as I rode. Vibrations were very minimal. Transmission shifting I would say very close to a goldwing. Steering with the fairing was very light and effortless. Wind deflection very good. Reaching for the kickstand was almost impossible while seated on bike it was to far forward. That break pedal is two small for the reach a car type would be better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Ride already own a 2017 springfield , really like this bike and thought i would like to try a chieftain classic . Surprisingly a very different ride and refined fuel delivery on the new bike .Throttle and transmission seem much smoother on the 2019 chieftain

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Chieftain This bike was a great ride, sound system was awesome and the driving modes made this bike great to ride. The switch between touring and sport mode was amazing. One dislike is the seating position. Feet are too far forward and no heel shifter standard. During test ride had to stretch my foot to reach the shifter. Unfortunatly this bike is not for me but was a nice ride plenty of power and the sound system was amazing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 116 I own a 17 chieftain, I wanted to try out with the 116, and mid rise bars. For me I didn't care for the mid rise, the 116 is nice but for the type of riding I do, I don't think I'd spend the money. I like my bikes design better than the 2019, The 19s look to much like a Harley(not ditching Harleys, just like the differences).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Near perfection! I had a brand new Street Glide ordered, and thankfully, there was a delay with the delivery which gave me time to check out some reviews on line. They kept comparing it to the Street Glide, and the Chieftain kept coming out on top. I test rode both, back to back the next day, and there was no question in my mind. I canceled the Harley, and bought the Indian. Very happy with my decision - I love the bike!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love at first sight I waited 30 years to find the bike of my dreams. And when it came time to make that choice in July, the 2020 Indian Cheiftain Dark Horse was that bike. It has 100% 116 Thunder Stoke power, sounds great, ridiculous looks and is a super comfortable ride whether I am on a long trip or a short commute to the grocery store. I am blessed to find her and will never let her go.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pain In The Rear My 2020 Chieftan Dark Horse is overall an exemplary motorcycle. 2 issues I have: I need some guidance on how to use the maps and trip planning feature; After riding a mere 80miles, my butt burts so bad I have to stop a lot of the time. Most uncomfortable seat I’ve ever had. Of course there’s no way I could have test ridden it long enough to know this. If so I wouldn’t have bought it. The mustang seat on the VTX I traded was so comfy I could ride from fillup to fillup painlessly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best decision i ever made! I bought this bike a little over a month ago and i have to say i will never go back to a Harley again. The handling and control is far beyond any other bike, so well balanced and the power of the 116 cu in engine is phenomenal. I can't say anything negative about this bike at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Dream Bike! This is my second Indian; I traded in a 2017 Chieftain Dark Horse for a 2020 Chieftain Dark Horse. These bikes are extremely nimble for being a heavy bagger. The 116 cubic inch engine has loads of power. You better hold on tight when you twist the throttle! Indian incorporated the rear cylinder disable feature for when you're sitting idle for a period of time, which really helps to keep the heat off of your legs. In terms of the onboard electronics; the user interface on Ride Command is extremely easy to use and customize. The speakers on this bike are 10 times better than the factory speakers on my 2017. The fork mounted fairing does an excellent job of keeping the wind out of your face. I upgraded my windshield to a Klock Werks flare, however, the factory windshield worked just fine in terms of wind buffeting. I really love this bike and I have gotten countless compliments and requests for photos since buying it in May. My only complaint is that the headdress on the front fender doesn't light up like it did on my 2017. Hopefully Indian will address that on future models.
Date published: 2020-07-15
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfection I bought this two months ago without regret. It’s the perfect bike for myself in every way.
Date published: 2020-07-15
Rated 2 out of 5 by from A few issues.... I bought this 2 months ago and I am not so happy. I love the bike but the battery completely died with 127 miles on the bike. The bike stalls on me constantly and it now only has 220 miles on it. The seat bolt was stripped (noticed it when I had to remove the battery for the shop to replace).
Date published: 2020-07-13
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mirrors and Sound The mirrors look like two big bug eyes, not a fan. Pipes, shhhhh don’t talk I can’t hear my bike. Other than that, better than any Harley I ever rode.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Love it! Bought this bike a couple of months ago. Best bike I have ever owned. From all the features, the power, the sound, the style and ultimately, the way this girl handles the road. I haven't had a bike handle this nice on corners since my days riding a 750. A Truly incredible bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shake & Bake Here's the deal, I had Victorys and Harley Davidson and now I have the Chieftain. The Indian Chieftain is the best there is on the market besides the Indian Challenger. Plain and simple! I wake up in the morning and ride excellence!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adequate motorcycle I purchased my motorcycle approximately 2 months ago trading in another brand. I have had the first service completed and have been in various traffic conditions. Freeways to country roads and the motorcycle has performed flawlessly. My biggest concerns with the motorcycle are reliability and depreciation. I like the led lighting, the maneuverability and finish but feel buzzing at the handlebars and the foot boards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2020 with 116 is a smooth beast. I rode the 2020 Chieftain Limited at a demo event at Fox Motorsports in Grand Rapids MI. In stock trim it was smooth with tons of torque. Wonderful machine. Great fit and finish. I appreciated the lowered rear suspension. It just keeps getting better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfortable Fantasic bike with amazing handling and smooth suspension. Only 2 small complaints...helmet buffeting, could use flip windshield. And a bit buzzy through the handlebars at highway speeds, could use rubber mounting or balanced engine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So smoith This bike handles corners like it's on rails. It rolls and handles bumps like it's a Cadillac. And that 116...Harley wishesbit sounded so good. I cant wait to own this bike!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rides like a dream I wanted to try the Chieftan in comparison to my 2016 Indian chief Dark horse. The three ride modes were great and the new seat is comfortable. We had a fantastic test ride and compared to the Harley Heritage 114 I test rode later, the Indian Chieftan was way more fun and more comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweetheart of a bike!! Demo days rider 8-31-19. One I rode was a Gloss black and Chrome beauty. This thing rode like a Cadillac, Powerful 111 Motor, Smooth shifting, Very comfy seat, Minor vibration, But still the BEST of all the bikes I tried out of the Springfield Dark horse, FTR1200,Scout, Scout Bobber(Which I LOVE too), Cheiftan Dark horse 116, And the Limited. Do yourself a favor and try one if you get a chance.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Demo Ride Bad News for the Chiefsin The e-mail went out from my local BMW dealer ( who will be carrying the Indian line September/19) to test the 2019 Chieftain Limited. I thought , why not see how this machine stacks up against my BMW K1600B. While most demo rides are short and really don’t give you the “ full feel” for the bike the 30 minutes in the saddle gave me some immediate concerns. Engine performance: the Chieftain vibrates miserably at 4000 rpm’s!! I know there are vast differences between a six cylinder and a v-twin but come on this is way too much. Engine heat: the 30 minute produced a lot of it and was reminiscent of my ST1300. I wasn’t a fan of the ergonomics but to be fair to the Chieftain a longer prolonged ride would be needed to properly evaluate the controls. The K 1600 B is safe in my garage and has proven to be the far superior machine.I didn’t investigate price point but if they are close the BMW will give you a far better ride, better technology ,engine performance.and more options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth Ride. Great handling and power to spare. Had an Indian scout for 4 years. It is still my favorite motorcycle but I wanted something with a little better ride quality as my back gets some pain from jolts. I took the Challenger for a test ride and hit bumps that caused me issues just days before. No issue on the Challenger. Also was and still am surprised at how well it handles, shifts, and rides. It was kinda the total package for me. The weight of the bike has been my only issue and it just takes getting use to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's worth it The bike is great, fun to ride, great handling and definitely good performance.power. the only thing I see what I don't like is at a certain speed you get a lot of engine vibration. Hopefully that can be resolved in the near future. Otherwise from that the bike is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bike Traded in a Road King Classic for the Challenger and haven't looked back. Handles awesomely, awesome stereo. Downside, I really don't like the clutch. Takes some getting use to after the Road King, once it warms up it runs great, no heat issues when stuck in traffic, I have never felt my thighs trying to fry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the base model I’ve owned the bike for a little more than a month now and it is awesome. It has the best stock seat of any motorcycle I’ve owned. It is the best performing bagger I’ve ever ridden. It has the best stock features of any base model on the market. The sound system is great, the performance and comfort beat anything else I’ve ridden. I like the power windshield and the driving modes. Recent bikes I’ve owned: Harley, Victory Vegas, Victory Cross Roads

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Motorcycle I own my Challenger for about 2 1/2 months now, and I have accrued about 3,400 miles in that time. I find this model to be nearly perfect in every aspect. The brakes are stellar- perfectly balanced and effective. The acceleration is phenomenal, smooth with a perfectly linear torque curve that never seems to end. The suspension is perfect, it’s adjustments are very responsive and the settings are excellent. The handling of this bike would lead you to believe you are riding a bike much lighter than what you really are. It feels like a sport bike in many ways, acceleration, braking, and handling. It is an amazing machine. Very well executed design by Polaris. You can see they really put their heads together in designing and building this bike. Fit and finish is excellent. Paint finish is excellent. I am very, very happy I crossed over from Harley Davidson and bought this bike. If I had anything negative to say, it would be that the throttle response ( throttle body) needs a little better engineering, as it is sometimes choppy and the engine runs a bit rough at times. To be fair, the bike has improved in this area the more I put miles on it. I expected some bugs with a new model, which this bike definitely has, but none of these minor issues would persuade me from buying another one immediately. I can not recommend this bike enough to anyone considering buying one. You will be happier than you could ever expect. Well done, Polaris! I’m looking forward to buying another one when I wear this one out!! I am looking forward to adding accessories as they become more available as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phenomenal piece of machinery I purchased a base model challenger in mid-July and have been riding it near non-stop since. The bike is head and shoulders above it's competition. The power delivery is absolutely perfect, the styling is striking and unique, and Indian made seemingly all of the upgrades of the Dark Horse and Limited models available to the Base model which is a tremendous plus for anyone looking to modify their machine at their own pace.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs a little tweaking The bike runs great 99 % of the time but has a slight lag or misfire issue . I was told my bike had all the factory recalls fixed, misfire & throttle body synchronized . I have added new mufflers and still have the issue . I'm going to make an appointment to have it checked .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Beast I watched for this motorcycle from the thoughts of it to the point that it was put into production. I made my purchase right after my birthday and have loved every mile put on it. It's smooth, it's strong, and to put it plainly, A BEAST. Probably will go down as the best v-twin bagger ever made and will have a long run in production. I personally LOVE IT!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power house, throttle rocking, nimble wild horse. This motorcycle has many attributes that are amazing. but out of the many motorcycles I had the pleasure of riding i don’t believe I had a bigger smile and uplifting feeling that gets you pumped and relaxes the mind like this bike! I traded in a victory Vegas 8ball and love the power plant on it and the equilibrium of the bike. And riding the challenger it doesn’t disappoint. Well balanced and plenty of power!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2020 Indian Challenger I bought my Challenger on July 3, 2020 from Indian Motorcycle of Oklahoma City. They are a excellent dealership to work with and have treated me like family since the day I took ownership. I purchased the Base model Challenger because I loved the color and the price point was right in my budget. I did purchase the Ride Command add on for the weather and traffic overlay that does not come with the Base model. It was around 500.00 extra but well worth it. I followed the break in procedure that was recommended by Indian. I like my new Challenger a lot its has plenty of power and has a terrific ride with the Fox shock suspension. Ive already purchased a few accessories to personalize my bike. Well done Indian, keep up the awesome work..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Base Challenger Bought this bike about a month ago. Happy for the most part. I was a little taken back to find out some of the ride command functions only work if you purchase Navigation. A recent update fixed the issue with the widgets not staying, but you can’t use the features of CarPlay if you don’t have navigation. This is a little disappointing for people who don’t need navigation but would like the benefits of CarPlay. The base model on all Indians with ride command should have the same capabilities without paying extra other than for the actual navigation maps. It really bugged me that I paid extra to install a garage door opener only to find out the widget disappeared every time I shut down. People with nav were fine. It took an update to fix that. Hopefully Indian will do the right thing and update CarPlay to allow use without nav. Other than those two issues I absolutely love the Challenger. Many mods installed, many more to go!

2022 Indian Challenger Dark Horse Black Smoke is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 170.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from My first bagger!!! I had this bike for a month and it’s still growing on me. I’ve been a sportbike and street bike rider on and off the track for ten years. I decided to grow up a little and get something to slow me down and enjoy the views while riding. I choose the challenger dark horse because it has characteristics of my bmw street bike with riding modes, TC, Abs, heated grips and liquid cooled. Pros. 1 Sound system was great and even better once upgraded to powerband even in saddle bags 2 easy to work on. All Indian upgrades come with instructions 3. Sounds great 4. For its size pretty quick 5 handles great Cons 1. Screen takes forever to load!!! 2. After long rides bike cuts off once coming to a stop 3. Gearing is really short. 4. Bike is governed to 110mph and has plenty more to give. 5.pegs/floorboards sit too low and hinders lean angle 6.can answer phone calls but no mic or can’t hear through speakers. 7. The Stupid design of the license plate holder puts too many holes in the rear fairing 8. A lot of plastic fairings 9. Apple car play doesn’t really work

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power for days Purchased the Challenger and put just the stage one on at purchase. This bike has the get up and go you’d expect from a new bike purchase. Low end power ban leaves something to be desired but all in all this bike is well balanced and once you learn the power ban it is so much fun to ride! Best feature believe it or not is the windshield. Seems dumb but at 6’1” the windscreen moving up on the highway for cruising has to be my favorite feature on this bike. The lowers for the crash bars is a must have for all my bikes so I hope Indian comes out with a good design on those soon. All in all great bike and actually would recommend this bike to anyone who could afford the price tag. Worth every penny.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun bike, weary about electronics I purchased this bike just over two months ago. I love it and it’s been great fun to take trips on. My only concern is the response from the throttle pedal pick ups. Seems a little slow in response call me old school but I am sure I prefer the reliable cabling over electronic throttle. Already had on mishap where the sensor came apart and caused a minor “layover” of the bike. Good thing I was at a stand still when it occurred. Other than that I haven’t experienced any major issues. Oh,and I get the same style response no matter what setting I’m using( sport, standard, rain) Plus it’s difficult to maintain a smooth speed under 20 mph. Throttle behaves erratic at lower speeds As if the sensitivity is very high at low speeds and quite the opposite at higher speeds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Where do I start Having ridden many years and many miles, not sure where to start with this bike. I got the 2020 Indian Challenger Dark Horse Thunder Black Smoke a little over a month ago and with 1000 miles under the belt, here are my thoughts. Previous bikes were BMW K1600 GTL, Zero DSR, Honda Goldwing, Victory Vision, Suzuki Burgman 650, Harley Electroglide, and a Harley 250 way back when. They are all different however this Challenger has power none of them, rides like on rails at any speed, and is very maneuverable. Lots of thumbs up by passers by.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Bike I've had my new Challenger for about two months now. It is everything I expected and more. The power is incredible after coming from the competitor's product. I rode theirs for several decades and thought I was happy until I rode the Challenger. No comparison when it comes to power, ergonomics of the controls, the well thought out rider comforts. The stereo is amazing, the ride quality is very comfortable, and the brakes are very powerful also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Stock Bagger Out There After years riding other "All-American" bikes I was absolutely SOLD once I gave this baby a test ride. I was in the market for a new bagger and there was no comparison to the Challenger Darkhorse. All of the standard features are such phenomenal quality and I love everything about this bike. I put 500+ miles on this in one day and I felt like I could keep going without an issue. From the lights, to the suspension and especially the sound, everything on this bike is just a dream. Indian really knocked it out of the park with the Challenger and it's always a head-turner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In a league of it's own Story time. I go to Sturgis this year with my Victory Octane and I wasn't too excited about doing a lot of riding on it since it's more of a bar hopper bike. I go to the dealership and decided I'll take one of the Challenger demos for a test ride and I was absolutely amazed at how close it was to the performance and rideability of a smaller bike but yet it was a big cruiser *with a radio windshield and bags.* I bought the back that day and came back the next to pick it up. Rode the bike over 1000 miles over the span of the trip and I can say I never thought I could have so much fun on a bike. Listening to music the NAV worked great and I was spanking Harleys all week. Thanks Indian for this awesome ride!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Safety First Bought this bike a month and a half ago. Already rode it 4200 miles. Was riding to work about 60mph in the dark and a deer jumped in front of me. The bike is totaled but I believe the smart lean technology kept me from getting seriously injured.
